Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I visited my store yesterday. Although a friend had been told they wouldn’t receive new merchandise until March/April, the store was changed somewhat with an area of more subdued colors and the cozy knit wear. Obviously less festive.
Sale section was minimally stocked and 50 off.
I went around 5pm and it was very quiet. Nearby, as usual Lululemon had a line through the store.

  3. No store here any more, but I did get my waffle set for Christmas. I have the charcoal color and sized up in the sweatshirt, but took normal size in the pants. I love the thicker cotton texture. It did stretch out with wear, so perhaps I could’ve gone smaller but I haven’t introduced it to the dryer yet. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I have been able to pick up some older cashmere pieces on Poshmark/ThredUP/etc (2013 or so) and love them. They are consistently thicker and more luxurious than the current items I’ve bought within the last year. I also wore my 2018 collection wool/cotton high waisted, wide leg pants this week in burgundy and got at least 5 (socially distanced) compliments.

  4. This is more of a vent. I received the 25% off coupon for delaying a shipment during Christmas. Today when the cashmere was specially priced I tried to use it and of course it didn’t work. I did an online chat and was instructed to clear my history and log back in to my account and it should work of course it didn’t. I then had to call CS and the agent accused me of using it already. He finally placed the order for me but the color I really wanted sold out. Why does Jcrew give out coupon codes that don’t work?!

    1. I tried it on cashmere and it did not work either! Coupons have been so challenging this year! From $10 joy to the $50 from the catalog! They must have a big IT issue! They need a good website developer!
I did really want the cardigan with fruits. But like every thing else it will be on sale section at one point!
I agree very frustrating! Time consuming and then items get sold out!

    2. @Dana Love the current cashmere promo, but my discount code didn’t work either. That is to say, it didn’t work on the cashmere items, it worked fine on everything else. But cashmere isn’t excluded in the fine print, so I did an online chat too and that worked.

    3. @fleur de lys yea the code worked for you! I was having a hard time finding something to buy using my 25% off promo code until I saw the cashmere go on promo. I really wanted the forest green crew neck but by the time I worked through trying to use the code it was gone in my size so I ordered my second choice, burgundy. I don’t really need anymore cashmere but I couldn’t resist the price. Jcrew just makes it so hard to use those promo codes.

    4. How did you do that ? Via chat? I could not get mine to work! Ughh !

    5. @Dana @Kate had the same problem with the $10 off Joy codes in December. I’m more or less expecting they won’t work, so after trying once I email CS or do an online chat. They’ve always helped me out #sofar #fingerscrossed

    6. Thanks!!! I been waiting for the cashmere boyfriend sweater with flowers! But Ofcourse it’s sold out! Lol
I like the Short-sleeve cashmere T-shirt in floral
Item AU202 and the Cashmere crewneck sweater with bow stripes Item AT82. But wondering if they will be in sale next week!
I did buy the Ribbed cashmere V-neck cardigan sweater Item AR944 in store during their $75 sale. But my 18 yrs old daughter took it from me. She wears it with brallete and jeans! It’s an xs, she is usually Med/large but it looks great on her lol

    7. I just emailed CS to see if they would apply the code after the fact for me on the two cashmere sweaters I ordered. Fingers crossed! BTW - I ordered two of the men's cashmere crewneck sweaters in this order. I have the striped one that they were showing in a photo where both the male and female model were wearing it (picture was on a lot of the shipping emails for a bit). The striped men's sweater is thicker and hasn't pilled much at all (maybe a tiny bit under the arms but super minimal). The shape is a little different as a men's cut but I'd say it's absolutely something to consider if you like the colors that are in the sale.

  5. Some reviews!

Classic fit lace button up AU230
Tall tapered paper-bag pant in lace AT618

Bought these to wear as a faux jumpsuit. My usual size 4 is perfect to slightly loose in the top but I Would not want to size down. The lace is much more comfortable than I anticipated. For the pants I ordered the tall (30.5” inseam) because the regular 27.5” length can be an awkward length on me. The pants are tapered so with heels id probably cuff them under but I’m not sure the shorter (classic) length would work. The rise is super high (over 15”) which works well for me, I can wear them at my high waist without the crotch pulling, or I can wear them on my hip for a slouchier fit. Reviews say they run huge but I don’t know that I’d size down if you have a butt, the 0 is a little loose but I don’t think I’d want the pants tight in the seat. If a high waisted, tapered leg paper bag pant works for your shape I think these are nicely made. Only negative, I wish there were back pockets and I think the tie belt could be longer. I tried these on with my lena cap toe pumps (high heel) and lower heels, Stellas for fun, and black suede slingbacks. It’s as comfortable as sweats and I’d wear it anywhere I needed to dress up and just for fun.

Also posted In reviews the lady jacket in Italian lurex tweed which I’ll post below.

    1. Today I got the lady jacket in Italian lurex tweed. AR591.
It’s beautiful. For looks and quality I like it more than I even expected. My issue is the fit. The website said it was 23 plus inches long and it’s over an inch shorter. It’s too short on me! I’ve tried styling it a few different ways and it’s ok but not sure I’ll reach for it.
I don’t even want to ask about returning. 😔 it’s size Xs And runs large. I can layer over a heavy sweater. (I’ve had to size up to size 6 in coats and they barely even fit over the same sweaters).

Edited to add, I tried again buttoned over slouchy jeans and a white button down, untucked. I don’t usually dress like that BUT it wasn’t terrible. The proportions are tricky for me.

    3. Great reviews! Thank you! I am waiting on few things!
I did get the Leather winter boots with wedge crepe sole Item AT828. Love them! They will be perfect for cold winter days. I like the leather vs suede and I think they are nicer then Ugg’s. They were $36
I bought 2 pairs of Peyton pants in navy and black and they are great for work( already have grey form
      Before ) $14.
White slim shirt. TTS. Fits good! I wore it under cashmere crew neck this week. It was perfect!
I did get the denim bow shirt! It was $12. I do like it. It loose. But I can make it work! It’s different! The bow is challenge!
I am waiting on few pajamas and Sherpa jackets for me and my daughter ! Also waiting on tuxedo Cameron pants. My 18 yrs old has been into jewelery So we picked up few last week!
I did pick up black cashmere pointele sweater for $25 but it has not arrived! Since I love cashmere and wear it home and sleep and work.,lol... I think it will be a staple! Keep you all posted!!!

    4. I wish I got another white button down. The last one I got is a Tall XS and it’s super fitted but long for some outfits. I wasn’t really thinking when I ignored them last week. I have so many but you really do need different fits and fabrics.

    5. Kate, I wish I got those boots, I have the suede version and like them a lot. I wish the sole was lined like the Nordic boots (at least in the suede they’re not) and I’d definitely add them to my winter boot collection. They’re super comfortable for walking, I find. Only difference, the suede version came in half sizes and the leather version seems to only have full sizes. I’d have to size up.

    6. I added a UGG sole liner! I had one stashed that I thought of using for another pair! They are super cozy. Boots are 8. Liner 7. I am btwn 7.5 and 8. They fit very well! They will be back! I have size 9 available in my save for later! Lol!

    7. White shirts were a steal! I got the slim reg and curvy is traveling to me. I only had one from factory from few years back! I did return 2 p in curvy it was snug but I am hoping 2 reg will work well!
I also got the Slim perfect shirt in Liberty in sunset (red with white grey flowers), it’s super fresh look! Makes me happy to wear... although only tried it for now! Overall it was a good sale!!! Minimal cancellations when I actually Found stuff. Lol

    8. Mom approved the lace ensemble. She prefers the pants long. I doubled the belt and tied in a knot and it’s much better than the bow, makes for a more streamlined look.

Still playing around with the lady jacket.

    9. @Suz The pants sound great! Can you check the care recommendation on the label? If they are washable I'll add them to my wanted list.

I usually do a 1/2 bow, where you just pull one loop through. Stays in place for me. Less bulky than a bow and leaves a longer belt.

    10. @Kate, glad you found a white shirt that fit. I wear cashmere sweaters around the house too. We keep the house chilly all winter and they are so cozy.

I bought the tuxedo jacket and not the Cameron tuxedo pants. They just do not fit my shape, by the time they fit my thighs the waist is falling down. Hope the jacket works for me, I have been wanting a nice black jacket for years. I think it will work with my Collection beaded mini or over skinny pants/jeans. Maybe over silk trousers, we will see.

    11. PBanos that is how I usually do my bow/belts. It felt a bit bulky. Doubled and tied in front in a neat knot seemed to work best to cinch in my waist without being fussy.

I got a tuxedo blazer last summer and I wish the waist nipped in more. I don’t think I can dress it up with full length pants. It would prob be ok over a little dress but I may end up just doing it casually over slouchy jeans.

    12. I will check the care label. Prob dry clean. They’re fully lined. My steamer is my friend.

    13. @pbanos, dry clean.
I was trying on with different shoes as the husband came home from work. He thought it was cute.
For a second I regretted selling the black tie neck sleeveless top in lace but realized I couldn’t have tucked it in.

    14. @Suz, thanks for checking. Glad the Mr. liked the pants & thinks you look cute!

    15. He liked the whole look. 😉 I still may try the pants in regular length. I also think the lady jacket works over the whole outfit, although I’m never sure about the texture of lace paired with other textures, aside from velvet. Granted I overthink everything.

  6. I visited my store to return some presents that did not fit (cloud fleece hoodie and kids' slippers). I felt the cashmere - it looked pretty but the fit is never right for me - too long and lean and the oversized looks sloppy.

This week, I picked up three pairs of remi pants for $15 each. They are great pants but I had to try four different sizes (P0, P2, 00, and 0) over the past few months before realizing that the 0 fit best. Luckily I knew the size when I ordered.

I also ordered the red regent flannel jacket, item Item B0327, this morning. I was stalking it for months and it was never on sale or eligible for promotions when my size was on sale! Last night it showed as available but not when I put it in my cart and I was able to buy it. Finally, the stars aligned this morning. We will see if it ships. Item B0327

Finally, though I don't need anymore shoes, I couldn't resist the Carolyn skimmer flats in croc-embossed leather Item AQ665 for something like $20.

    1. Glad Regis working for you. Tried 2 times without a luck! Got Polartec® sherpa fleece jacket, xxs. It’s a size down for me but that all the had. $15. Fits great! I have T-shirt and cashmere sweater under and have room. It’s very warm. Got same one in navy Sz M for my daughter she is 5.9 usually M-L so it’s a crop look for her. She actually likes it but keeps saying not sure lol. I think it’s great!

  7. Finally bought Nordic boots in Cobblestone. Not thrilled about the price but at least they were included in the 40% off. Of course the color was not to be found when cardlove was stacking. I really only wear boots once fall turns cold, so happy I’ll have them. The crepe sole tobacco leather boot arrived and looks overly clunky on my leg, but the boys of the house like them so I’ll save for next year or posh if I am still iffy at that time.

I have ordered around 25 items and they have been hit after hit. Black and cream Sherpa jackets will be worn for years to come. Which is great, because I had to really stalk like a mofo to get them! The pink Camerons for $6 are a perfect fit and match many of my crew liberty blouses. I ordered many slim fit, curvy and liberty blouses in my regular size, except the aqua heavy weight and regular flannels which I sized up one on and that was the right decision. Can’t believe everything fits perfectly! Surprise loves would have to be the bright pink pants, velvet leggings (so glad I knew they were surprise loves for my friends here months ago!), and the ruffle sleeve top in satin crepe. Happy to have multiple fresh pajamas put away for next year as crew jammies are my favorites. Love to hear of everyone’s scores, glad it is mostly positive feedback. Xo

    1. I really like the cream Sherpa! I can never find my size it’s never in promo and not on sale. I will keep looking! I think maybe I start haunting the navy one on sale. Love the black one I got yesterday!!!
I like the color of the boots it’s a grey/cream, hard to find!!! Enjoy them!!!

    2. Thank you Kate! I like in the brown and black Nordic boots. I luckily got the cream fleece through CS as a price match offered when the black was cancelled. But - I really wanted black so I was obsessed with getting it. I do much prefer it to the cream. But it is a very nice fleece. I’m happy with the snaps as opposed to a zipper. Very nice for middle aged me, a bit dressier. Get the navy!

  8. I picked up a couple of the ribbed cashmere cardigans; I think this is the first time they are actually on sale. I already received one, and the reviews are definitely correct -- they run large so order one size down. It is a nice thick cashmere, not especially soft but very sturdy and not itchy at all, even on my very sensitive skin. Definitely recommend.

    1. Also just fyi, Ann Taylor is also having their sale on cashmere. I always get a few pieces from them at the end of the season and find their cashmere to be of good quality with generally less pilling than JC's.

  9. I went to the store to make some returns today on the last day of the extended holiday return period. Certain full price categories were 30% off (I think sweaters?) and sale was 50% off.
