  1. I also got an email this morning that there is a cardmember promo - 30% off using the code "CARDMEMBER" with your J.Crew card. Looks like the usual exclusions apply. The email also indicates that 40% off sale is going on in store....you'd think perhaps they'd make the cardmember 40% off sale as well since the regular 30% is already on sale...

on topic, not sure I'll get anything as I purchased the collection leather pencil skirt yesterday which I hadn't planned on, but am more willing to try stuff with no final sale.

  2. I would have pulled the trigger on the Collection perforated leather dress, but of course now that it's on promo it is sold out in my size.

I too ordered the Collection leather pencil skirt yesterday, though, so maybe that's enough leather for now!

  3. I can't find anything to buy at any price. I went by the store yesterday and tried on several items and they are just so off. I went home and put my OOTD together from my closet. When I finally got done, I looked at the season code on the items, 07,08, and maybe 2011. I am wearing the stuff I already have, just mixing it up different ways and I am much happier with my look. Please J.Crew, give me a beautiful pencil skirt and some cafe capris (maybe some print ones) like years past. I am wearing the navy suede marcie wedges for the first time today. They are quite comfortable if they would just stop squeaking.

    1. Co-signed on the Cafe Capri, especially in a fun print. I miss them! The Factory Skimmers are not comparable - the leg is wider which is ok but I prefer the Cafe Capri silhouette. I am spending time searching eBay, ThredUp and Poshmark for beautiful, better-made J Crew items from years ago. It's kind of fun... but I'd love to just have new stuff available too.

  4. I am looking at the Japanese poplin swing trench - on back order until later this month. Has this style been offered before and anyone have any sizing or fit feedback?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. I ordered a size down and it fit great- a little smaller through the arms, but I don't plan to wear anything bulky under it so it shouldn't be an issue. It is definitely boxy through the torso, but not overwhelmingly so if you size down. The swing silhouette is very noticeable from the side view and it does add some bulk in that regard, but overall I'm happy with it. HTH

    2. Violet -- Did you order the khaki or the green color? I wonder how the green color looks

    3. I bought the khaki color but am also curious about the green!

    1. Check Madewell, they have a similar denim skirt with raw edge. I don't know that it's a pencil style, though, may be more A-line? I ordered it to try, I can review it soon.

    2. Thanks... but the jcrew skirt i wanted is white.

i do like that madwell version a lot tho :)

i'm kind of surprised madewell doesn't have a white version of it... it seems like exactly the skirt they would do

    3. Oh sorry, didn't realize! Keep on checking, it should pop back some day.

  6. The only items I would consider ordering are excluded from all promos. So still nothing for me...this is the first time that I haven't even really wanted anything from JC.

  7. I was sad to discover that no matter what I put in my cart, I never could qualify for free "standard" shipping. I just confirmed with J.Crew, their shipping options have changed very recently, and they no longer offer free standard shipping for reaching a certain price threshold. The chat agent made an adjustment for me on my "CARDMEMBER" promo order but I don't imagine they'll do that more than once.

    1. This must have literally just changed in the last two days. I placed an order on April 6 and another one yesterday; both were well over the $150 minimum for what used to be free standard shipping, but it was only applied to the first order. The second one was bumped to economy (Sure Post, ugh). Disappointing.

    2. Same here! Geez, J.Crew. While other retailers are offering free shipping on very low minimum purchase or none at all, you guys are being cheap about it.

    3. As I don't live near a retail store, the no free shipping will severely curtail my purchases. I don't think I'll mind as the selection has been uninspired lately, and well, fugly.

  8. I wasn't planning on taking advantage of this promo but I noticed that the Carlos Obando Magdalena skirt from last summer was super cheap with the 50% off and I always liked it (in picture) so I ordered it along with a swimsuit for the minimum shipping.
I have to say that looking at the website these days feels like playing with the stock exchange, it stresses me out these one-day promos. So now we are back to the promo that ended two days ago but with some stuff that was 50% off then (and didn't sell) now only at 25%. First of all, who has the time to follow all these price variations and second, what's the point?

    1. I know, it's really annoying. Old Navy does the same thing. I like what Boden does when it features a particular type of item or has a catch of the day.

    2. I'm frustrated with the constant promos too. Was just thinking last night about how in like 2007 I was online xmas shopping in Mid-December and JC had a 30% off sweaters promo and it was SO EXCITING, because promos were so rare! Now they are constant and the quality is barely one notch above gap.

  9. Nothing for me this sale, but I have a few new reviews here.

  10. Popback in my size in the raw edge denim pencil skirt this AM so I pounced on it. Crossing fingers and hope it ships (I just checked again and it's sold out again online).
