"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. 1. Change the font so that 59.99 doesn't look like 39.99.

    2. Why did my tassel-trim top (review) rip at the button loop after one wash/wear? #aintnobodygottime

  2. Between items that run large, run small, or are that weird mix of boxy-with-tight-sleeves, I now have thirteen (yes, 13) "usual" sizes at JC -- and that's not including shoes and swim. Shopping shouldn't be this hard.

  3. Listen, been trying to get a pair of Andie shorts in the Oxbow Blue. Simple, right? No, they are not available in my size online and was told by CS that they are completely sold out online and in stores. Guess what? The store in Tampa, FL had like 3 pairs. Get your inventory straight, you already can't sell half of what you have and now you don't even know what you have where. What?

  6. I would like a simple way to reconcile my web account orders to the JC credit card account statement. The statement doesn't show order numbers, and the web account shows only the 5 most recent purchases.

    1. It really does not make any sense why in this day and age they could not provide the order number as part of the transaction. It gets hard to track especially when one order gets split up into multiple shipments. On a side note I received a cleverly worded email for a survey a few weeks ago from Comenity Bank. It made it seems like the survey would be about how to improve functionality of the J. Crew Credit Card website or the card itself. I was excited to provide info like you mentioned above. Sad that when I clicked on it is seemed more of a survey to use the info to send me more offers from Comenity. I clicked out after the first two or three questions.

    2. The J.Crew credit card is a hot mess in so many ways. I truly do not understand why J.Crew hasn't made any improvements in this area, especially given that other retailers do it so well.

  7. Mentioned this on another thread, but here it is again - was instore this past weekend purchasing the seville espadrilles on sale. Asked (as one does) if the educator discount could be stacked with the 40%-off-sale. Was told brusquely, "J Crew won't be doing that anymore - that's ended. People were geting too much off." The educator discount? "It will only apply to full-price items. No more stacking. It ended already in the States."
Really? Anybody else run into this? Seems like an odd way to encourage people to buy things, it was one of the perks that kept me loyal.

    1. I'm in the states and went to Madewell the first weekend of the month and was able to stack just fine... If it ends they will not be getting as much of my business. What a ridiculous thing to do/say especially considering the poor quality they've been releasing as of late.

    3. I don't receive the educators discount but I feel like a while back a few people stated that they got the same line that you did (here in the US). Then they backpedaled and said it was a mistake or something, and you will receive the educator discount and all was fine. Maybe email customer derive and ask them about it?

    4. That should say customer service...
