This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!

Thumbsup on the perforated a-line dress. I'm debating whether to get it in black or not. The peacock is very pretty irl. Review here of the black.

ReplyDeleteI posted a J.Crew Factory scarf and sweatshirt outfit combination here. The Factory scarves in the rayon material are a nice weight for spring outfits.
Just received the collarless popover in metallic voile (c0895). Found it harder to style than usual. Here's what I put in my review:
ReplyDeleteI loved this top the moment I saw it on the website. And it doesn't disappoint IRL. It is a beautiful cobalt blue (though the color is called navy on the website, the metallic threads makes it come over as cobalt) with a subtle sheen to it. The reason I gave four stars out of five was that I found it a bit harder to style. Downdressing is the way to go: pair it with jeans, pair it with dark colors and wear it unbuttoned.
The cuffs are a nice touch, they are easily 6'' and rolled up make the top more casual too.
And size down: I did and there is still room to spare. I wouldn't size down more than one size though as the sleeves are more fitted than the rest of the top. And I love it that it has a regular and not a drop shoulder.
I'm styling the leather strappy sandals in my post from last night. The leather is extremely buttery and high quality. Sensible heel height too. I want them in coral.

if you have not, I recommended the strip silk tank (it pops back online sometimes); very versatile; I prefer it with white jeans but for this week, I paired it with blue jeans and red rain boots.
ReplyDeleteI got a chance to try on the Japanese poplin swing trench. Review in this post.
