Extra 30% to 50% Off Sale Styles at J.Crew

"Thanks!" to  many of you, including Melissa@AllThingsSimplified (in this post), as well as Roxana Hadadi (in this post), who shared the following email & promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is offering an additional 30% to 50% off Final Sale with promo code SHOPSALE. This offer expires August 19, 2014. The fine print includes:
*IN STORES: 30% off final sale items. ONLINE: 30% off final sale items and 50% off select final sale items. Offer valid on the purchase of final sale items in J.Crew stores and at jcrew.com from August 15, 2014, 12:01am ET through August 19, 2014, 11:59pm ET. 50% discount only valid on items listed in the "50% Off Select Sale Styles" assortment at jcrew.com. Offer not valid in Liquor Store or Ludlow Shops; in 769 Madison Avenue, Bloor Street or J.Crew Factory stores; at jcrewfactory.com; or on phone orders. Offer cannot be applied to previous purchases and cannot be redeemed for cash or used in combination with any other offer. In-store discount automatically taken at the register. To redeem online, enter code SHOPSALE in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promotional code per order. Offer valid in the U.S. and Canada only. Terms of offer are subject to change. Final sale items cannot be returned or exchanged..
Brick & mortar stores are also running an additional percent off Sale (ranging from 25-30% depending on the store). I am assuming that they will all offer 30% off their Sale now.

Honestly, I am not surprised that J.Crew is running another percent off sale promotion. They need to move the merchandise! (I was surprised when they took it away for the last promo!)

Also, double check to see which items are marked Final Sale. There were lots of items in my cart yesterday that were not showing up as Final Sale, and today they are. Blah. However, there are still a few items that are not final sale.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are B&M stores offering 30% off too? Please share!

  2. Thanks for the mention Alexis! :)

There were a lot of new markdowns yesterday, as well as new promo-priced items, all of which are now eligible for the extra 30% off. I've updated the J.Crew Promo-Priced items and Markdowns list with the new additions. See the List Here.

  4. I have ordered the pearl cluster necklace and the Vans in coral after seeing both on the lovely Gigi. There were a few other items I was interested in, but since they were on FS I abstained.

  5. I ordered two prima jersey drop shoulder tees - I don't mind them being on final sale, since I already have a couple, and they come in at about $20 each after the percent off.

  7. Picked up a few items on deep discount that I already had tried on or already have in another color. I hate final sale but if you know what you want the price can't be beat.

  8. This summer sale reminds me of Narnia, always winter never Christmas. I love me some J.Crew but the whole selection bored me, sorry 'crew but I'm over what you're offering on sale.

However Club Monaco is offering 40% off the sale price and things there are much more to my taste right now. Some awesome deals on this that can easily work into the fall. Grabbed a mac jacket that was 1/2 off then the 40% off was added making it an incredible deal. Also scooped up some cashmere which I feel blows J.Crew's out of the water for quality.

    1. It's raining on a Saturday afternoon so I surf around and before I know it a textured silk tie and a pair of shorts are 'magically' ordered for me. Considering they ended up being about 70% off with all the discounts I won't even complain about the shipping. And yeah I did say I was over the J.Crew sale, oops my bad.

  10. Has anyone tried the Collection Wool-silk cropped pant in windowpane floral? They are so cheap but if i won't ever wear them because they are ugly or the fit is terribly it is still money wasted. Anyone?

    1. AK - They're super not for me, but Maqsad reviewed & recommends the windowpane floral pants in this post.

    2. AK - you can also see the pants on The Robinson Style. She wears them w/the matching windowpane tank.

    3. I tried them before they went final sale and thought they ran small. I took a size 4 in the Campbell capris and I couldn't get the 4 zipped in these. Pretty colors and nice fabric though.

      Delete
    4. oh no I just bought them in my normal size...cuz they were so cheap, hopefully they fit.

      Delete
    5. I got them in my regular size as well, so we shall see. It seems that the fit is that of the cafe capri and i always took my normal size in those so i'm hopeful they will work. I'm still a little worried about the print but i'm hoping to wear with a white top and my navy schoolboy to tone it down a little (?)

  12. Some promos in store: Asymmetric zip sweater and sleeveless silk blouse on promo for $69.5, 25% off chambray shirts, 25% off sweatpants, 25% off jewelry, 30% off satin toothpicks. HTH! I hoped my store would have the new catalog when I went in for a return today but no such luck : ( If anyone has it, please post pics!

    4. yeah...that was interesting. Sure am glad I have so many things that I love :O

    5. I'm seeing the men's items getting posted on Pinterest so the ladies items may be up by tonight, I bet they will be last. Not feeling optimistic by what I have seen so far though, dark and boxy and oversized.

      Delete
    6. I'm interested in seeing the people profiles towards the end...want to check out their looks. Otherwise, not much is catching my eye as I think the proportions are a bit wonky for everyday wear still despite it being the trend for the past 2 years.

  14. Has anyone tried the cotton cropped sweater? I just ordered it in navy - with the promo & my rewards card it was free. Not final sale either so if it doesn't work, no bigs. I thought it would be cute over several button-downs I own, especially a vintage kelly popover that has been sitting in my closet, tags-on, for months. Any other ideas? Obviously best over a skinny silhouette on the bottom half... This is my first foray into the cropped trend as I have had two c-sections in the past ten years so layering is a must!

    1. I have the sweater in navy and love it! I tried it on with endless shirt in navy stripe and loved it but little too long do I tried it on with boy shirt in navy stripe and it was perfect. Its still full price at the store. What I love is that it's trendy but classic . I got xs which is my norm all tippy sweater. Xss was too tight in the arms.

      Delete
    2. Thanks for the info Susan! I got my normal Tippi size too so hopeful that will work. I have so many button-downs & popovers that will work with the navy. I think it will look really cute over Minnies or dark denim skinnies cuffed with ankle boots.

    3. I ordered it but will return. The length is great, a bit shorter than usual and I like that. However I find it a bit 'heavy'. Not light like the merino sweaters (Tippi!). Read on Net a Porter that it was midweight, so should have expected that.... TTS.

      Delete
    4. Thanks for that info, fleur de lys. I don't think I'll mind the weight since I'll be layering over button-downs for cooler weather. That makes me hopeful that the buttons won't show too badly under the material. Sorry it didn't work out!

    5. Hi Taylor - I like the cropped sweater over a long-sleeved tissue tee in a contrasting color or stripes. This one is one of my all-time favorites... I can't believe it's still on the website!

      Delete
    6. Great idea, silver_lining. I have several stripey tees & even some long-length tanks I could wear under it.

  15. Finally picked up the gold malta mirror metallic sandals since I told myself I would grab them if they went on sale and they finally did! Fingers crossed they fit - I ordered them TTS.

    5. There are two new purses so far...embossed downing tote and a smaller lock/front/small patent (small section) one.....can't say I like either. I am glad I still have a few older crew bags to get me through this coming year.....Jeez..

    7. It's all so dark & dreary... Depressing, dismal. Reminds me of late January when I am so tired of seeing grey everywhere I could scream. It's the SAD style guide - seasonal affective disorder. Fall is my favorite season to shop for - I love the colors associated to the season. But I'm not seeing any plum, teal, mustard, burgundy. Just grey, black, white, & some blush thrown in for the heck of it. Blergh.

    8. I see another Collection jeweled sweatshirt, maybe we should start tracking the amount of time it takes between Pinterest and sale and do some data analysis, I think J Crew could benefit since I'm not sure they are doing it.

      Delete
    9. Hi TeriLynn - it looks like the original jeweled raglan sweatshirt came out in 2012 (Whitney reviewed it here), and then it was revived for factory last year (here). Now it's back at retail? I don't recall it getting great reviews in either 2012 or 2013 because of the boxy cut and the placement of the beads and sequins.

    10. Anybody have info on the "Boom/Pow" flats in the womens suit picture?

      Delete
    11. Hi Millijcrew - my guess it that they're Stubbs and Wootton loafers in a "JC exclusive"colorway. A VPS would probably have more info, but I'm guessing they're in the $500 range.

      Delete
    12. Maybe they are improving it with new and improved beads?

    13. Hi silver_lining - I pre-ordered today.... $400.00 Navy Stubbs and Wooten... limited quantities available.

  17. Ordered a few beauty items that were discounted and had the 30% off... RMS buriti bronzer and their volumizing mascara & Tata Harper resurfacing mask and her lip treatment in "be true". Love both brands and price I got cannot be beaten. If anyone is in doubt about RMS and Tata Harper, you won't regret.

I also stopped at my B&M store and got the beaded tassel bracelet and necklace . Both came at $37 and some change each. Both pieces are very beautiful.

    1. agree about the beauty items - the bite beauty lip crayons are on promo for $18, the extra 30 percent brings them to $12.60, and then my student discount stacked, bringing them down to about $10 each. a ridiculous price, when they're $24 regularly and at sephora - where they never go on sale. very excited to receive them!

and Nan, would you mind providing the style number for the beaded tassel necklace? I was interested in getting that but I think it sold out online, or at least I can't find it. the style number would be helpful, thank you in advance!

    2. Hi Roxana - the item number is B1690 and here is the link: Beaded Tassel Pendant Necklace. HTH! :)

    3. thank you! argh, still sold out! clearly this will be added to my "stalk the website for popbacks" list.

    4. @ Roxana Hadad, glad that @Melissa@allthingsSimplified provided the info you were looking for.. JC' SA had to call for price check on both pieces as item numbers attached were faded..
      Worth stalking:)

I think so...but why must they ruin it by cuffing it like sweatpants!? I hope the cuff is also made in the wool fabric and not cotton. It will be a huge disappointment if it is in cotton. Ayayay..

      Delete
    2. I agree, JSR. I don't like the cuff either. It looked so promising in the photo with the Cocoon Coat. It probably doesn't come in petite anyway.

      Delete
    3. Maryeb - I hope its offered in petite. Another disappointment if its not. Then again if its cuffed in cotton then maybe it wasn't meant to be in our closets. :)
