Are You Ready For Fall?
I cannot believe that it is almost the end of August and September is just around the corner! Everywhere you look, Fall is smacking you in the face. Forget the Back-to-School theme at stores, I already saw Halloween and Christmas decorations on display.
A quick look on my Blog reader and it seems like everyone changed over their closet from Summer to Fall too. Don't get me wrong, I love Fall... the crisp air, the pumpkin flavored coffee, the maple scented soaps, etc...
Despite all that, it is still pretty darn hot where I am at. Enough to enjoy pool parties and wearing shorts. So even though I am loving all the Fall stuff, I am not ready for Summer to end quite yet. ;)
Are you excited for Fall? Still want Summer to last? Which season are you dressing for?

I am nowhere ready for fall, nor do I want it to come. Around here have another week with scorching temperatures. This has to be the first ummer I am getting a lot of wear out of my sandals.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the calendar, fall does not start for a few weeks. :) And, in LA the weather will be hot here for awhile! It will be awhile before I can wear anything that is not a transitional piece.
ReplyDeleteIt's 58 degrees here on the Delaware coast this morning. Though I know in my head Mother Nature still has hot temps in store for us, right now my heart is tugging toward fall!
ReplyDeleteI was happy to change over my closet to fall, all of those JCrew goodies from several years back in shades of yellow and mustard, the animal prints... we've had a cool summer up here in Ontario so it was all working out. Now bam a heat wave yesterday and today so summer is back, summer clothes out once more and I better enjoy it while it lasts.
ReplyDeleteThat said I am spending the week back-to-school shopping for my daughters, with school beginning in one week it does feel like fall.
Funny, I just wrote a post about how excited I am for fall! It's still too hot here so I promised myself no new fall clothes until I can actually wear them.

I'm always ready for fall! I can't wait to wear my rib stitch cardigan that I got on promo yesterday and break out my fall clothing! I'm getting excited just thinking about the crisp temps coming.
ReplyDeleteNever ready for fall. Summer is my favorite season. Luckily, it won't even be fall like weather until November here in the South:) Will keep the shorts and sandals out until the dire end of the season.
ReplyDeleteI love fall and ADORE Halloween! Yes, it feels fall-ish, but it's still hot here in Portland, Oregon. So I'm still wearing summer things with a little of a fall-ish twist. I don't switch out my clothes....I have an entire room that's a closet so all my clothes, accessories, bags, shoes and jewelry are on display. I wear my summer clothes as long as possible, because once it starts to rain, it's boots and raincoats. For months and months. It's so boring! I'm eagerly waiting for a Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply sweater to hit (I saw it in a magazine and it must be mine), need some new flat booties, and I saw a J. Crew hat in Vogue that I really want too! I'm really looking forward to seeing all the fall lines. I saw a spread for Jones New York in the Sept. mags that has a couple of really good looking things. Can't wait...oh, and Banana Republic looks good too.
ReplyDeleteI wish it were still July and I had organized my summer clothes properly. I tend to buy some things a little early and end up not wearing them. I've been going thru my things the past couple of days and found so many hot-weather outfit pairings. Hopefully we'll have our usual Sept, early Oct warm weather and I can get some of them in rotation.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to do the same thing GIgi! I am wearing the whites and neons now and will switch to fall colors in summer weights after Labor Day. I am ashamed to say that I still have way too much with tags still on:(
DeleteI'm not shopping for fall until September, which I know is right around the corner. I love my fall wardrobe. I'm planning on using a lot of what I purchased last year and the year before. I have my eye on a few goodies, though. We probably have a good three more weeks of warm weather in Jersey. And I'm all about the Shore this week/weekend! Woo-hoo. I'm totally rocking my J. Crew pleated flare dress in red when I go out for a fancy din this weekend. Honestly, it was my favorite J. Crew purchase for the entire spring/summer.
ReplyDeleteMy life is one long hot flash. No matter how hot it gets in the Northeast..or damp. or chlly. I'll be in summer clothing till mid-October...or early November.
ReplyDeleteCatherine - me too!!! I'm so tired of being hot ALL the time!
