Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. Saw this earlier in the week. Never really noticed how many guys are wearing them.

  4. Anyone know if the stores are still offering extra "xx" % off sale items? Thought I might pop in.

    1. My store still has 30% off sale but not much to choose from. I will not be going. Instead I am going to Arden for the expanded warehouse sale. Hope the line is not too long and hope I am able to snag some goodies.

    2. Let me know what it's like and if you score anything good! I've always wanted to go to one of those warehouse sales.

    3. I will do. Just check back. I will probably post on the Monday "did you seek and find". I already know that the store has a couple of shoes that I am interested in so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

    4. Good luck Doodle! I am never brave enough to hit a sale - I'm going to the regular warehouse in Lynchburg this morning!

    5. Major score. No line at Arden. Got over $2000.00 worth of stuff for about $300.00. The store had additional 60% off and warehouse had two rooms open. Tons of stuff. Bought 5 pairs of shoes, some jewelry, 2 dresses, some sweaters and some pants. Best score was the silk Lucie sling backs in grape neutral for $20.00. Love them.

  5. I made a return at a J.Crew store yesterday and they are doing a jean promo:

From 8/21 to 9/30, get $20 toward your next J.Crew denim purchase when you bring in an old pair of jeans. Our friends at Blue Jeans Go Green will recycle them into eco-friendly ultratouch denim insulation for communities in need. #JCREWDENIM

Also, 30% off sale items. But the downtown SF store at least, only had a few merch. on sale.

  6. Does anyone know if Factory has any promos going on this weekend?

    1. Engineer L - I can't speak to the weekend but I was in a factory store yesterday and was disappointed at how little was on promotion - $5 off here, $10 off there - 20% off blazers, vests are FP, 40% off Charley sweaters (off the full price) and 30% off clearance. Labor Day will probably bring a bigger promotion. I bought a few things but in hindsight probably could have held out for a better deal - in a few cases the online prices were better and I had to ask for a price match.

    2. Hit the mall Friday and returned 2 Factory tees I'd bought for the littles, because the retail originals which I liked better were included in the 25% off promo. Noticed a cute beige/dark brown striped top, some confusion as to which % off applied, so I decided to wait. The 25% student/educator Factory promo was still going on.

I really think someone should design an app which calculates which JC item should be bought when, taking into account sales, promos, discounts...

  9. All pumps were $30 a pair at the clearance center in Lynchburg today! I bought the silk falsetto printed grid-print pumps, a pair of chartreuse suede Monas (I think - I cannot find a trace of them online) & a pair of cognac-colored Monas. Also bought a $20 pair of black Cafe Capris & a $20 pair of bright blue Andies. Those prices make it hard to spend a lot of money at retail!

  10. Checked out the downtown Robson St store (Vancouver Canada)
The melton bofriend coat. My size was the same as I take in the cocoon and other JC coats. It is nice...IRL.
The newe scarves are all pretty....I have wish listed two ( the four square and the two foral )
the navy pinstrpe vest is very nice TTF (same as last years fit)
the new satchel purse is boring...and no new zipper front pencil skirts...But the new jewellry was a surprise. Much more simple . The few pieces with the wood details are nice...way...way less bling over all.
The store was very busy and the smallish sale section was 30% off and had linen tees and linen summer sweaters....
This was only a fact gathering visit....Its going to be a good Fall at J Crew..I liked alot of the new stuff..

    2. I bought the two tone floral scarf and have worn it twice already. It is really pretty! The four square scarf is my next purchase.

  11. I went today. Sale was 30 percent off. The SA who greeted me said that virtually every top in the store was 25 percent off. Jewelry was 25 percent off, too. And they were running the jean promo. I didn't buy anything. The two items I wanted were sold out of my size. Sidenote: The store layout and design is SO much more appealing to me than the Style Guides of late. I feel like the merchandise looks so much cuter and fabulous in the stores than in the Style Guide. This September Style Guide is a snooze fest, but it does not do the merchandise any justice. Honestly, everything is so cute. I'm shocked that I exhibited so much self control, but today was a back-to-school shopping day for my little guy, and I made a vow to not buy anything for moi until September. I exhibited uber self control in Banana as well. Honestly, everything in Banana is rockin'. I am loving the coated denim and leather vibe. I was hoping J. Crew had those cute plaid loafers. But the shoe selection was kind of lacking.

  12. This is my 1st time posting, forgive me if I accidentally posted twice. I was at the factory outlet on Friday when I was checking out (with my student ID) and they said it was 25% off this wknd, instead of the usual 15%. I thought that offer had expired already? Anyhow, they said it was valid until Sun 8/24 :)

    1. oof, I wish I had known that! I bought something at factory this weekend and sadly only received the 15 percent off.

  13. FYI I saw the long merino ribbed sweater in store. It is very light weight....really quite thin. This was a huge disappointment for me.

    1. I felt the same way about that sweater. What does J Crew have against making a lower gauge sweater like the Arrow Sweater from 2010? I believe it was a 5-7 gauge knit vs. the higher gauge sweaters like the Tippis.

    2. I still have 2 Arrow sweaters in my closet, and they still draw compliments. I'd love to see this sweater in one of this falls colors, wine, gray...

  15. Has anyone received that wonderful hard coupon insert in their catalog? I remember bringing his into the store around mid-September last year and the store associate lets me use it in conjunction with the store promos (meaning like 45% off new fall styles!).

I haven't received mine yet, but hoping it comes with a huge fall catalog! Not impressed with whatever late summer/fall catalog I received a week or so ago.

    1. I've never received a coupon in a catalog that was mailed to my home, but I did find a 20% off coupon in the box with an online order this summer. I used it to purchase the Dulci Calf Hair Kitten Heels. The original price was hard to swallow - I would have gone with another, less expensive brand if I didn't have that little incentive :-) Love those little surprises!

  16. I have been a little antsy about getting to the mall to try the new J.Crew fragrances. I have been looking for a new scent for a long time, and despite my recent estrangement from JC I was hoping that my longtime retail love would come through for me . . . but there are a couple of scathing reviews from the usually discerning noses at Fragrantica ("No. 31 and No. 57 are a pair of uninspired EdTs that fall prey to the worst homogenizing effects of commercial perfumery, situating them both as low-end chain store fragrances that attempt to obfuscate shoddy, predictable structures through a fleeting series of top notes.")

So, it sounds like the scents are fails . . .but I would love to hear what other JCAs thought.
