Terms of offers are subject to change.Overall, this is a really great promotion! It covers both new arrivals and sale.
It is worth mentioning that a lot of new arrivals are already on sale (and not promotion priced either!) in brick and mortar stores. I saw the Quilted Boyfriend Fatigue Jacket (item B2589; $168.00) on sale for something like $139.99 in one of my local stores, before the additional percent off sale applied. Crazy how fast some items are moving from the front of the store to the back sale racks. In any case, it might be worth a visit to your local J.Crew to see if any other items are markdown.
It's too bad I feel "in between seasons". I don't feel like shopping the Final Sale for any Summer clothes and I don't feel like shopping for new Fall items yet either. However, I am sure I will change my mind once I take a look around. ;)
Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? If so, what items are you interested in?
Just posted reviews( hinged choker, rib-stitch dolman sweater, full length Minnie in bi-stretch) in the 'Review' post.
ReplyDeleteHi maryeb - I just replied to your other post. :)
DeleteWell, I did order one last summer tunic that was on popback this morning. I can still wear it for a few more weeks when it gets here. I did get a couple of things in store that went on sale this week, vote for love tee and the parrot tee and the statement tassel necklace. I think both of these will be good transitional tees to wear layered under a jacket later on. I also bought the side stripe sweatpants that have laid in the stores all summer that finally got marked down. I bought both the gray and the black and yes, I do have some sort of problem. :) Some how it sounds so much worse when you type it out and tell people all the stuff you bought.
ReplyDeleteJust went to the site and saw a note in the upper right corner of the home page that for 24 hours all orders over $125 get 30% off and ship for free. It then disappeared when the image on the home page changed. Haven't seen it since. Has anyone else?
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw it too. Same thing, went away when I scrolled up or down. I hit refresh a few times & it popped back up only to disappear again. The code was 24HOURS, I believe. I tried it at check out & it did not work. Could this the promo for Labor Day maybe??
DeleteI saw it too! I thought maybe I was going crazy!
DeleteI saw that too, just for a second! strange! Maybe, as unknown said, it will be the labor day promo. hmm.

ReplyDeleteI am contemplating the Vintage Pajama Set, which is at a decent price with the extra 40% off right now. I do wish they were offering free shipping on all orders though. I know they lowered the minimum to $100, but I don't necessarily want to add extra items just to get the free ship. However, I will admit the the Heart dot shirtdress is rather cute and tempting. Has anyone seen it IRL or had the chance to try it on? If so, what are your thoughts on it?
ReplyDeleteAgreed that the heart dot dress is tempting. The cut of the dress is great - I'm trying to decide if the print is me. Will look at it in a store this weekend.
DeleteI was just at the store and tried it on. My stomach area is my problem area so this cut usually doesn't work for me -- and it didn't in my usual size. I would probably have to size up. That being said, the cut is darling. My dress had a hook an eye closure at the waist that was broken. It looked like it would add security to the closure but it also might have added a pleat? Not sure. Anyway, thumbs up if you know it will work for your body type. Length is great too. At the knee on my 5ft6in frame.
DeleteThanks cousy and rcb.shops!
Deletercb: What did you think of the print? Does it work for a woman over the age of 40, or is it better for the younger crowd?
cousy: I know what you mean about the print. I am not much of a print person, and usually wear solids. However, I do own a Tory Burch heart-print dress that I really love, so I'm thinking perhaps this heart-print will work for me, too.
I'd love to see an IRL photo of it. If anyone that happens to see the dress and has a chance, will you please snap a pic? I know it's on sale, but even at the sale price I'm not sure it is worth taking a chance with it being final sale, especially if the print turns out to not be what I'm expecting.
I thought the print was pretty subdued and not too cutesy. I hadn't focused on the olive undertones until I saw it in person, and I really liked the color palette. I think the colors keep it a mature looking print. If I see it again, I will post on IG and tag you.
DeleteThanks rcb! I wouldn't have expected olive undertones either, especially from the online pic. What other colors are in the dress? It looks like pink, yellow, and maybe orange? It's so hard to tell from the website, and now you cannot zoom in really closely anymore, which makes it even more difficult.
DeleteMelissa,i have the heart dot blouse.
DeleteIf you want i can send ypu an email with a close up shot of the colors.
HTH
That would be great, Ina! Thank you! :)
DeleteSent it !
DeleteI also want to mention that there were a lot of new markdowns this past week, as well as some new promo-priced items, too. I've updated the J.Crew Promo-Priced Items & Markdowns list with the latest additions: See the List Here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the headsup on this promo, did not get the email yet. I called and got a price adjustment on my recent SHOPNOW order and saved myself $50.
ReplyDeleteHad a couple of items in my cart but wouldn't pull the trigger with the 25% off. When the promo switched to 40% I went ahead & bought. I guess at least I saved myself the step of price adjusting. Also ordered a few things from Factory.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a few things from Factory this AM with my birthday month discount but nothing from retail for me. BTW - I have to echo Rynetta's love for the Sophie plaid loafer. I wore them yesterday & they are ridiculously comfy! I found that they ran about 1/2-size big but I put gel heel pads in & they were perfect after that. The colors in them are so great - mustard, navy, red, white. They will be fabulous for Fall into Winter pairings! I am glad I scored them on promo last week.
ReplyDeleteI also understand there is free shipping on Labour Day.
ReplyDeleteJust ordered the schoolboy blazer in black at a total of 87.00 (shipping inc.), it's a nice price--couldn't resist adding to my schoolboy blazer collection!
ReplyDeleteSo the Cocoon coat... It's different this year. Someone blogged about it (I'm sorry, I forget who), and they are right. It is longer this year. The style number descriptions say that last year's and this year's coats are the same length, but mine are not. The new one has a fake cuff, about 5-6". The pockets are on the sides now, which doesn't bother me. The sleeves in my regular size are too long, and the coat overall is too long. I like the old ones better, but maybe I just need to try a smaller size.
ReplyDeleteI have the cocoon from two fall seasons ago in green. If I had known they would offer it Petite...a year later.... :-/
DeleteWhich color did you order, Cate?
JSR, I ordered the "hthr twilight" color. It's a nice color, but the fabric seems different than my other two cocoon coats. My navy one is a more refined fabric, my gray one feels thicker and softer. The "hthr twilight" fabric reminds me of the Stadium Cloth Elements coat fabric, although maybe a bit thicker.
Deletea head's up that when I called the j. crew in columbia mall, maryland, earlier today to put some sale items on hold, I was told sale items were 30 percent off in store. I informed them that it says 40 percent off in store on the j. crew website, and they said they would honor it, which they did when I went in this afternoon. but all over the store, only the 30 percent off sale signs were up - not sure why they're not advertising 40 percent off, like the website says.
ReplyDeletePics of the new camo shirt and the pleated lattice skirt on me here.
ReplyDeleteSo when the sizes on the Kelsey dress were starting to "sell out," I bought it. Naturally it was on theSHOPNOW promo yesterday, before it shipped. I debated waiting, then thought "What the heck," called and got the price adjustment. Good thing, too, because it's off promo today. I'm not thrilled with the poofy shoulders, although I can see someone liking them, maybe Elaine Bennis? but I think a dart at the top of the shoulder will do the trick.
ReplyDeleteFWIW, I note that a number of the sold out sizes have reappeared.
That happened to me last winter with several new items but they were all re-stocked. BTW, this morning it says shipping is free for orders over $100
DeleteFactory - Thumbsup on the pocket utility jacket.
ReplyDeleteThe jacket is currently $58.80, more than 50% off.
DeleteI bought one recently and am really happy with it! Pleasantly surprised by the quality too. I agree with your review, that it runs just a tad loose. Overall a great piece (esp. for factory) and great price at the moment too.
DeleteJulie Taylor - Did you decide to size down or stick w/your usual alphpa size in the pocket utility?
DeleteI'm 5'10" with really long arms so I stayed with a M. Thought I may wear a hoodie under it in the Fall. But it's plenty roomy, I'm sure a S would fit fine.
DeleteMy hopes of getting the Drapey t-shirt w/the heart shaped beach scene are slowly slipping away. If anyone sees or has one NWT they'd like to sell in a sz. S, lmk!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSombody responded to your post that there is one on ebay.
DeleteHTH
To one of your older posts.
DeleteThx so much! I'll check it out!
DeleteI was considering the Puff Sleeve Blazer and Merino Scalloped Hem Sweater. Any thoughts on those? Specifically, does the black blazer pick up lint easily?
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the blazer, but I love the scallop hem sweater. I have the mauve and a green that I don't see on-line. I got my usual size in sweaters. The fit is loose, but not too much so, in my opinion.
DeleteI'm so gutted that I missed the 40% off promo! I just logged in today and see that it's switched to 30% only. I was off j crew for a while, but I'm seriously in love with all the vibrant prints this season! Should I hold out for another 40% promo (and risk some things selling out) or just bite the bullet now?
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article. I am hoping the same best work from you in the future as well. In fact your creative writing abilities has inspired me to start my own BlogEngine blog now. Really the blogging is spreading its wings rapidly. Your write up is a fine example of it.
