Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I visited the Bellevue Square store. The sale items had an additional 30% discount. A lot of the new arrivals were already sold out in my size, unfortunately.

The Factory newer items were up tp 50% off, while the sale section had an additional 30% off, but the sale section was quite picked over.

    Some Factory reviews here.

  2. Anyone see the new Dannie pants IRL yet? I'm curious how they look compared to the Pixie pants. The one online review says they are pretty high waisted.

    1. Greetings TeriLynn13 - Not.A.Fan. I visited a B&M this weekend to get a look at the 50 million things I eventually want to stock my closet with for Fall, so I tried on as much as I could, including these. Compared to Pixies (thick ponte knit) and Minnies in stretch twill and bi-stretch wool, they were very stiff. The website says they have "stretch", but that was not evident from my fitting room try-on, which was more like "compression". Another reviewer may be able to comment if they relax with longer wear, although hopefully not to the point of SBS (Saggy Butt Syndrome). They run small, like a super-skinny khaki pant. I'm a go-to 6, sometimes a 4, but I would size up to an 8 in these. However, this is just me . . . the one website review was very positive, and I'm sure they will work for others. I recommend a try-on if you are close to a B&M, or ordering a couple sizes online with the option to return what doesn't work. Good luck! Jennifer

    2. I tried on the new Dannie pants this last week and I liked them alot! I think they are more compared to the Minnie pants by the fit and material they are made out of. They are pretty high waisted but not to bad. I tried on my reg. size in pants and Jeans and one size larger they both seem to fit I guess its just how you want to wear them. I hope this helps.

    4. Thanks everyone! I think I will check them out. I didn't like the Minnie pants because of the side zip but I liked the concept. Maybe these will be what I need.

  3. I ended up going to the store to get an adjustment on the camo shirt that went extra 25% off on the promo when they added items on Sunday. I had just bought it earlier in the week so it saved me almost $25.00. Didn't see anything else since I had just come from the warehouse sale in Arden on Saturday. There were a couple of people that wanted to know if the warehouse sale was worth it, so here goes. It was definitely worth it. I only had to wait in line for about 20 minutes, which was phenomenal. I got over $2000.00 of stuff for about $300.00. Dresses were $15.00 and I got two of those. One of them was the swiss dot flounce sleeve that I love and pants were $15.00 and I got a pair of Andies, a pair of ecru broken in boyfriend jeans and a pair of the utility pants that are all still current online. Everything had tags. I bought 5, yes 5, pairs of shoes, 3 pair of sandals, 1 pair ballet flats, and a pair of the suede darbys from last year that I had been wanting and missed. One of the pairs was the Lucie silk plaid slingback sandals that I have wanted since early spring for $20.00. That was my favorite purchase. I also got a pair of the Allie gladiator sandals from last summer for $15.00 in tan and a blue embroidered windowpane top for $8.00. I bought some sweaters for $15.00 each. One was the linen abstract flower sweater from this past season. Also found the white linen pencil skirt with black trim that is still on the website for $15.00. They had tons of jewelry and I did get the crystal mobile necklace which I am wearing today with my $15.00 navy eyelet shirt dress. Sometimes when I go over there I tend to buy things just because they are cheap and not something that I really want or will wear but this time I really did get things I had been wanting or watching. I plan to wear most of the summer stuff this week before Labor day so the white swiss dot dress will be worn tomorrow with my Lucie slingbacks and the white pencil skirt on Wednesday with something fabulous, don't know yet.

    1. Thanks for sharing your haul! I'm interested in going to a warehouse sale at some point in the future so I'm curious about the details. What time did you get there on Saturday? Any reason why there were so few people in line (bad weather, etc.)? I heard from someone that you can't really try things on inside. Is that true?

    2. This is making me reconsider my stance on these sales - I have heard nightmares about the wait time & (lack of) organization at the one in Lynchburg which is where I'd be going.

    3. I went to the Arden sale. The weather was very nice so I think the reason for the short line, 20 minutes, was the fact that they had 2 rooms open so more people could come in. They can only allow so many per the fire codes. I got in line about 11:00 so the people that had been there all night that got in at 9:00am were starting to come out. I live about 2 hours from Arden. It is hard to predict the line, sometimes the line is so bad that people stand for hours. Some people pay people to stand in line for them but I am not that obsessed. I won't do that. There is a little store there that is open all the time at the end of the warehouse. I always find lots of good bargains there all the time. I do call to see what their stock level looks like before I make the trip. Sometimes I will adjust when I go based on what they tell me about their shipments or sales that they have. I actually found the Lucie slingbacks at the store and they had 60% off. They were the last pair and I went into the store at 10:20 before I got in line for the warehouse, the store had just opened at 10:00 and no one was in there yet. Most people go to the store after they come out of the warehouse but I got a bunch of stuff in there at almost the same price as warehouse, just a dollar or so difference and much easier to shop. You can try things on over your clothes if you wear something that is tight or a dress or skirt that you can put things up under. Lots of people, not me, wear a tight tank top and spandex leggings. The stuff is not organized in the warehouse. It is by women's, men's, crewcuts but that is it. Stuff is just in cardboard boxes all mixed up like crazy. Shoes are a complete nightmare. They are somewhat by size but some have become separated from their mate and there is basically no hope of ever finding it. I can see where it could be overwhelming if you are not familiar with J Crew clothing styles or how their sizing runs. If you are familiar you can spot something a mile away and run for it. I always find way more than I need to and usually end up eliminating a few things. I think the Lynchburg sale is probably the same way but they have a store as well that is much bigger, probably 3 to 4 times, than the Arden store. I have only been there one time but the store is very nice and organized and worth the trip. Hope this helps. Sometimes my husband will ask me if I am wearing something I dug out of a cardboard box...and I proudly say YES!

    4. Doodle - I commented on another post, I hit up the Lynchburg clearance store last weekend & they had all pumps for $30 a pair. They had just had a warehouse sale the weekend before but still had plenty of goodies! I was there on Sat when they opened so had first dibs on the size 7 / 7.5 rack. My fave find were the falsetto printed pumps, the black & white grid print. They retailed for $288!

  5. Is anyone else not liking the direction JCrew is taking lately. I used to love their more fashion forward looks. Everything seems basic, boyish, and BORING in the past 3-4 months. The style guides leave me lukewarm at best. I used to find the style guides to be fabulously enchanting but lately there isn't anything I even want to buy. Anyone know why they are taking this plain Jane direction lately?? I miss my old JCREW!

    1. This same sentiment has been expressed frequently on here within the past year. :) I agree re: basic/boyish.

    2. Heather, look at Boden's website. There are some beautiful pieces that remind me of classic, with a modern, fun twist JC. I saw at least 25 items from Boden's website I would love to have if I had the dough, but my favorites are the: Mary Jane heels (leopard calf hair), Edie jacket (houndstooth), notre dame skirt (houndstooth), British tweed blazer, Barcelona cardigan, bistro pants in metallic jacquard and the Mohair mix biker cardigan

    3. How is Boden's sizing? Do you take your J.Crew size or size up/down?

    4. I think Boden runs slightly larger/longer than JC. The garment measurements in their website seem pretty accurate. Not a lot of options for petites, if you need that.

    5. I just bought about 15 things from Boden--summer items on sale and fall/winter preview items. I changed jobs and needed dressier work clothes. They are all well made and design wise, Boden seems to have hit its stride this year. Sizing can be tricky, particularly for curvy gals. I'm a straight size 2 in J. Crew, and sometimes a 0 in tops, but a size 2 in Boden tops and a size 6 in Boden pants and pencil skirts. For reference, I'm 5'4", 32-25.5-35.5. Because I'm short-waisted, the regular size wrap dresses and wrap tops never fit me.

    6. Yes. I have been buying mostly Boden and not much at JCrew. I really like the online size charts/garment measurements. Makes buying for me pretty fool proof. Great fun styles and easy returns usually free both shipping and returns. Love Boden.

  6. Could not resist this sale! I have not shopped J.Crew much at all this summer but this one was too good to pass up, especially the fact that they have new items on sale, too.

  7. Had to try the calf hair harpers in black/white, so excited for them!
