Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Visited Saturday. Sale items in store were an extra 40% off. Scored the Emma leather flats in black to wear next fall.

The Nora flats were $52.99 (I believe) minus 40%, so a really good price.

Outfit with the Lucie Mirror Metallic Slingbacks here.

    1. Hi Rose,

May I ask how much the Emma leather flats were in store? Thanks!

  3. Is anyone else totally fed up with the "as a one time courtesy" line? I've gotten that on the phone, and have heard SA using it in retail stores. It's the unfortunate mantra!

Since this applies to a purchase I made yesterday (and I am so peeved right now) I am writing here, altho it applies to a visit to the online store, not retail.

I bought an item that came up on its website page as additional 50% off / FS, but I ordered it anyway b/c I know it will fit and I know I will like it. I just noticed this morning on my email confirmation that it was only 30% off, so I did a mock checkout for the same item again this morning, and 50% came off. I called, and the phone rep said "well, as a one time courtesy... blah blah blah" and I told her when she says "one time courtesy" it sounds like she is going to a lot of trouble to fix a JC mistake so I will just reorder it and return this one. And she said, "oh no, it's fine. As a *courtesy* [no "one time" this time] I can do it for you."

    Please.

    1. Had the same discrepancy with prices quite a few times especially on orders that were placed before 6 a.m. I don't even bother to call since I find that line equally irritating. I email them a price adjustment request including the order number and my full name and billing address. I usually get a response within a day or before the item/s ship.

  4. Just a reminder that today is the last day for the 20% off on sale and promo-priced items at Madewell. The updated list of promo items and markdowns is here on my blog for those interested. There are really a lot of cute items on promo right now, too. :)

  5. concerning Madewell:

anyone try their skinny skinny jeans? i'm interested in the Skinny Skinny Crop Zip Jeans in Pure White item A3493... i'm usually wear size 26 in jcrew but sometimes size up for 27 in skinny stuff... wondering if it's the same sizing with madewell.

    1. Hi Miss JR,

I can only speak for myself, but I wear Madewell jeans (I haven't tried the white, though), and I find that they are TTS, and sometimes a tiny bit big. I would not size up. Also, remember with Madewell, they have "risk free" try-ons, meaning they offer free shipping and returns for denim orders, so you can always try out both sizes, and ship back the ones you don't want! HTH.

    1. Doodle Daschund reported the metallic gold Callies at $69.99. Stores are notorious for not having things marked, but the shoes should be that price nationwide. Good luck!

  7. Still loads of stuff in the Eaton Centre sale room. Tons of shorts. The Oui Mon Cheri sweatshirt in both colours. Bits and pieces of the French themed tees. Very few shoes. Lots of shirts. Piles of the zip-shoulder merino sweater, which at $25 was too good to pass up - into the fall bin it goes. One lone white silk stripe-sleeve tee which turned out to be much cuter in person than I expected, and which came home with me (isn't it amazing how much more attractive things are when they are 60-70% off the original price?)

  8. With everyone here talking about how poorly J.Crew seems to be doing of late, I thought this article was interesting: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865605261/Big-CEO-salaries-often-not-smart-business-U-study-says.html
