This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
Helloooo, JCAs. Was told that sale items are going to an addtl 50% off in-store on Tuesday. Hope my source is correct. Happy shopping if you go.
ReplyDeleteJust visited my local store and sale was still 40% off. Maybe it's just select stores like it was last time. I did pick up the fruit salad print linen swing tee. Love it. Hoping it might be on the Friday promo so I can get an adjustment. I promised myself I would never by anything FP again at J Crew. Everything goes on some kind of promo or sale, just have to be patient.
DeleteIt was 50% off at my store.
DeleteJust noticed that the regular price surfboard sweater gets 30% off w/SHOPNOW. Nets $55. Reviewed here.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone have recent experience with Jcrew cashmere? I've been eyeing their featherweight cashmere tee in snow and it is sold out online in my size. I thought white color should not be popular due to see-through factor....
ReplyDeleteI've had good luck with JC's winter-weight cashmere, but their featherweight items have tended to shrink, snag, or pill for me. Many of the colors are gorgeous -- too bad the material is so delicate.
DeleteI've had good luck with recent JC cashmere (last two or three years) as well, but I avoid everything JC calls featherweight -- way too delicate.
DeleteSnags and so seethrough a camisole is necessary.....who wants that even on cooler summer days?
DeleteRepost from Saturday...I stopped in to a store over the weekend tried on the white cotton pique lace dress, puff-sleeve seersucker blazer, lace shift dress in california poppy, and the stripe zip-back dress among other things. You can see photos and brief reviews on my blog here
ReplyDeleteBig thumbs up to the seersucker blazer and the cotton pique dress. The zip back stripe dress is nice but I don't think it's worth the $128 price tag currently - I'll wait for a sale. The lace shift dress is beautiful - a smidge short for my liking so I'm trying the collection lace shift and will share thoughts when I get that!
I also tried on the colorblock stripe pencil skirt but had to size up...they didn't have the size up in the store so I ordered it, I hope it works out. I have the stripe pencil skirt from last year but justified this one since the stripes are ivory and last year's stripes are white...
Factory - Thumbsup for the tie-neck peasant top & new pineapple print Charley.
ReplyDeleteI have really loved the Campbell Capri offered this past spring. I have colors - Black, Flame, Tan, Capri Blue and seersucker. However, my first pair of black the seam on the crotch tore after two wears; I returned to the store and SA was really good about exchanging for a new pair and gave me money back because of a promotion. Now, I have my replacement pair and this morning, same issue and have only worn 4 times. I'm irritated. No other colors have had this issue. I love the Campbell but I wish the J.Crew quality control was back to the days of 2005-2008. Those were my golden years with J.Crew. Sigh....
ReplyDeleteYikes! This seems like a general issue for these pants. Several of the online reviews mention seam splitting.
DeleteA friend of mine bought the blue pair - she wore them, washed them - the bottom seam split! I told her to call CS even though she said it was an easy fix. That is just ridiculous!
DeleteThis happened to me too. I have had no problems with patterned Campbells just the solids. Figuring it was a manufacturing fault and the replacement would be the same I reinforced the seams myself. Bothersome but I have a hard to bottom half so pants that fit well are rare find. I posted an onsite review and got a reply via email. They aplogised, offered a full refund if I wanted to return them and assured me they are looking into the problem
DeleteThe white patio skirt in burnout linen is lovely. Cool, comfy and very very pretty. Available now in only petite, but it's a patio skirt and long, so petite could work on most people. Plus, it's one of those JC skirts that sit at the waist, and I always size up on these so they can sit at the hip, which adds a couple inches to the length. I think it's a steal at $50 on sale.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you've convinced me. I've been eyeing it for a while. Thanks!
DeleteI can't say enough good things about the Prima Jersey Drop-Shoulder Tee. It is SUPER-cheap right now - $29.99 with 50% off so I know sizes are limited but if you can catch your size, I highly recommend it. Gigi reviewed it a while back & had me intrigued so I am glad I snagged two (black & navy). It's super-soft, great drape, great length. It's the perfect lightweight basic tee.
ReplyDeleteif I wear a x large in the perfect tee shirt but a large in the linen tee's what size would /should I order ?
DeleteI take the same sizes as you and I went with large in the prima.
DeleteI agree with Christa - I'm between a S/M & I ordered smalls based on Gigi's reviews & they're perfect.

Thanks for linking to my review, Taylor :)
DeleteI just tried on some sale items again and only wanted one thing w/the addl 50% off and that was the prima jersey tee in white. It's nice and drapey, not sheer.
Just came back from my store but still only 40%. Some factory reviews here and a J Crew Maxi Dress review here
ReplyDeletePlus tried on a few new arrivals today so will try to post those soon.
My store had 50% off final sale I snagged a pair of sling backs in the chocolate gold for 79.99 minus 50 %!
ReplyDeleteI also have lots of new arrivals reviews on my blog:
-Hibiscus floral dress
-embroidered pom pom top
-embroidered gauze shorts
-embroidered gauze skirt
-lace trim tank
-jeweled sweatshirt
-new sweater
Check it out here.
Still only 40% off at my local store as well. I picked up the chino shorts in the warm caramel color for $18 (that's with the 40% off). The sale section was pretty full but I didn't see anything else I wanted.
ReplyDeleteI just received the sleeveless drapey top in photo floral and eyelet in kiwi. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, particularly the drapiness, but I tried it on and found it quite lovely. I originally wasn't fond of the eyelet back, either, but now I think it gives the top extra detail. I do think you need to do a bit of a tuck with the front to give it some structure. I paired it with my fatigue-colored chinos and thought it looked great. Would also work with boyfriend jeans/shorts and a belt. I didn't find the eyelet part to be sheer at all -- I thought I'd have to wear a tank or something underneath if I wore it to the office, but I don't think it needs the layering if you wear a nude-colored bra underneath. I did size down. Normally I take a 0/x-small in regular sizes and a 2/small in petite sizes. If this was a more fitted top I would have ordered a petite size 2, but I ordered the petite size 0 and thought it was perfect. There's more length than I expected, so the regular size definitely would have been too long on me. I ordered it when it was on sale and then got an additional 30% off, so I don't think I paid a bad prices for it. However, I think it may be reduced even further since the color may not suit everyone. When I pulled it out of the package it seemed a bit bright, but once I had it on with the fatigue pants the brightness was tempered a bit. The dark parts of the flowers aren't universally black -- there's definitely some olive in there. I think that softens the contrast a bit.
ReplyDeleteStill 40% off sale at the Michigan Avenue store in Chicago. The sale section is overflowing and the place was practically empty. The SA who processed my return also told me about the Friday event (cupcakes, sparkling water, special promotions). The new studded linen tank is very cute but other than that, nothing was very appealing to me. It all kind of looks the same.
ReplyDeleteWent in to make a return and to check out the new arrivals. I love the hibiscus floral items, especially the skirt, as well as the studded linen tank. I'll wait for a sale for those items. The sale section was huge and 40% off at the Omaha, NE store. I ended up getting the Cleo perforated loafers in metallic silver for $35.
ReplyDeleteReviews of new items up and more on the way at maqsadshops, reviews, reflects!
ReplyDeleteAny reviews for this year's nolita denim jacket in white?
