This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
Free shipping on all orders today only.
ReplyDeleteReviews on 1060 Pairs of the Evie metallic midheel sandals & golden plate and crystal earrings. Thumbsup on both.
I like the earrings. Are they heavy? I can't stand wearing heavy ones.
DeleteJruby18 - I lost my comment yesterday. No, the plate & crystal earrings aren't heavy. Those white bead droplet statement earrings are, though.
DeleteAnybody try the factory rain jacket? I would love a review.
ReplyDeleteI haven't actually worn it in the rain, but it is cute. Very lightweight, I actually wish it were a bit thicker or had a thin lining to add a touch of warmth.
DeleteYesterday, when the online promo went back to HISUMMER, the black Minnies and Pixies were back on promo and eligible for 30% off, so I grabbed them. They're rarely on promo/%off sale. Just an FYI for those interested
ReplyDeleteJruby18, I don't know where you live but the Clearance Store in Lynchburg has Minnies consistently for $20 or cheaper, all colors. Talls & petites too. Just FYI!
DeleteWoodbury Commons in NY does as well... $16.99 to be exact!
Delete@ SaraLee, the black ones are $16.99???? I know the colored ones can usually be found really inexpensively, but I've rarely seen the black ones on sale. If the black ones are $16.99 I'm all over it.
DeleteSadly I don't live near a clearance center. I looked up Woodbury Commons and it's an outlet center. Is this a Factory JC that's selling retail Minnies? I tried the Factory Minnies, I think they're called the Winnies and they didn't seem the same to me. Hm.
DeleteI don't think they're the same either - I have both & the Winnies seem to run smaller than the Minnies. I live an hour away from the Clearance Center - perhaps I should start taking orders before I go! :)
DeleteOT but Factory's website is showing the Herringbone vest available (well...backordered until mid-July) for $54. There's a full size run currently available and link here
ReplyDeleteI guess if they actually ship is a whole different story...
On topic, I probably will not be visiting a store this weekend but I look forward to seeing what everyone else is finding!
I ordered the vest, thank you!
DeleteIf anyone finds out what this Friday's promotions will be in store, can they please share?
ReplyDeleteWhen I asked yesterday, I was told it would be 25% off jewelry and accessories. Not very exciting IMO. I am in Chicago; don't know if the promo varies by store. By the way, it was still 50% off sale items yesterday at the North Michigan Avenue store.
DeleteSame in NYC, plus 25% off full price sandals.
DeleteThe scoopneck tee with the sparkly neckline is $39.99 making it $20. I would have bought the silver one BUT I washed the gold - trim one and the trim has tarnished considerably. Very disappointed! It is a hand wash tee but it looks like it doesn't like the water. Sigh!
Thank you for the responses. Not what I was hoping for.
Deletehey Ema- very sad about the sparkly neckline tee- i just got mine for $20 on sale and i really like it a lot...but of course I have not washed it yet. i thought i lucked out b/c the instruction said, hand wash- so can it be dried cleaned? urgh.....
DeleteLadies, are all of the colors of the sparkle scoopneck tee on sale?
Deleteat my B&M the white ones with gold trim (u neck) and silver trim (ROUND NECK) were the only ones on sale.
DeleteThank you!
DeleteI'm stopping in today to do returns. My store was really low on jewelry and I was told they just aren't getting any. What? Anyway, thought I would share this absurd shopping story with you. I decided that if I wanted a new caftan to take to Molokai with me next January I should start looking around. I was walking through the mall and saw the Lucky Jeans store (which I never go in) and realized they do alot of long cotton hippy dippy flowy things and it might be wise to check. The sales gal asked me what I was looking for and I said "a cotton ankle length long sleeved caftan"....she looked at me weirdly, hesitated then said "I didn't catch that middle bit"....so I repeated.....she looked at me weirdly again and said "ummm...I didn't catch that". So I asked "what part is throwing you?"....she said "that last word... I don't think I heard it right". I said "caftan?"....and she starting laughing and then yelled over to a guy SA and asked him if he had ever heard of a caftan...she said "caftan" with a big question mark in her voice. Ok...by now I'm irritated. He comes over and says (laughing) "Is that a calf length afghan?" Ha, Ha, Ha. They both were getting a big laugh out of this. I looked at both of them and said "for God's sake! It's sad that two people working in fashion don't know what a caftan is!.....why don't you google it and educate yourself!".....and I left the store. Can you believe it?!! I'm sure they thought I was total *itch....but seriously....I can handle uneducated, but rudeness too. NO!
ReplyDeleteStrayCat - Check out Madewell shirtdress cover-up. Full sleeves, full length. I wear S in J Crew, but sized down in this to XS.
DeleteCaftan!
So rude! Even if they had never heard the word (which as you said is hard to believe for someone who works in retail) they should never make fun of customers. I had once a SA look at me with big eyes when I asked for a "cuff" as she didn't know what a cuff was and thought I was looking for a "coffin". No, thanks!
DeleteI have had sales associates that did not know what gingham, eyelet, or grosgrain was. This is primarily at J Crew. All stores need to train their employees on basic fabric, fashion terminology. I had a J Crew associate the other day that didn't know what an Ikat print was.
DeleteOMG! Seriously!? WOW.....I thought my story was crazy! Gigi....thank you for the suggestion on the shirtdress cover-up. Heading over to Madewell now!
DeleteI am late with this, but that sales associate was terribly rude. Really unnecessary to laugh and then bring over another associate. Sorry you had to go through that. :(
DeleteYeah...glad I waited and didn't buy the Superga Leather sneakers at full price when I first saw them in the Madison Avenue store last month when I was visiting NYC! With promo on the sale -- got them for $55!
ReplyDeleteOops/ Above post meant for the Madewell thread!
ReplyDeleteI am looking for reviews of the Bristol trouser in herringbone linen.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to share my excitement at finally finding the warm iris feather paisley top today. Since I realized that it went on sale I have been trying to find the thing all week. It was online this morning but was gone before I could check out. I did not give up and finally found it in the East Hampton NY store. The associate was so nice and told me it would ship today. This top is gorgeous and frankly, this makes my day! It's the last thing I really want except for the blue/white chevron maxi dress which has not gone on sale yet. Have to wait, due to my #9 status.
ReplyDeleteYay, you found one! Wearing mine today. The print and the color are so lovely & I've received tons of compliments.
DeleteI'll bet. Can't wait to get mine. I saw it in Miami when it first came out but couldn't bear to pay full price so even more excited to get it on super sale. When the SA came back to the phone to tell me he had it, he even complimented on how pretty the top was.
DeleteAny JCA's able to comment on any of the Seattle stores? are the sale section picked over....I need largers sizes which is sometimes in my favor. I am probably only going to the newish alderwood mall store....can anyone tell me if it is worth the trip/time? thanks
ReplyDeletei have been both downtown and alerwood mall in the last week. I thought alderwood had better selection. downtown had a lot but more picked over. I have not been to u village and bellevue.
DeleteI was at alderwood on Monday - the selection was decent, but I personally didn't get anything. The merino was shop worn and I didn't find anything I had to have in my size. Shoe selection was small. Nothing for men.
DeleteHey...thanks to both of you. I think I will just do the factory at Tulalip and skip the BM's . Again thanks because I was interested in shoes !
DeleteYou're welcome. If you go before Monday, please report back on tulalip. I'll be heading down there on Monday. Thanks!
DeleteI stopped into the Burlington, MA store which is one of my least favorite in the Boston area. They had the Friday signs up but no goodies or anything Then when I asked the associate what the promo is she didn't know. She had to ask someone else and they didn't know either so they were going to look it up, at that point I just told them to forget it. What's the point of these promo's if the stores don't even care?
ReplyDeleteI shopped from home today (my VPS matches in-store pricing). Pretty much lost my mind. Among my purchases were a pair of emma bow ballet flats for $49.99, the cleo perforated loafers in belvedere red for $59.99, and the marled zip sweater in ballet pink for $49.99, all prices before the 50% off promo. I have a few returns to do this weekend, so despite (or perhaps because of) the fun and madness that is SF Pride, I will be out and about.
ReplyDeleteI just came from the downtown JCrew...Market Street is bursting with tourists. Sat and Sunday will be a party scene full of Pride revelers... :)
DeleteThey had 50% off sale, but the sale section is sold out of small sizes.
They served little cupcakes and Perrier water for that Friday event. Not much for me to get excited about, since I went to the store to return stuff.
@JSR - I am going to brave the crowds today. The 50% off sale continues in stores (at least in the NJ stores my VPS checked). I picked up the Sophie Crossbody in Henna (which is FP online) for $129.99 (the smaller version is $99.99 in store) and the sunburst skirt in navy for $49.99, before the 50% off discount.
DeleteWent to the vancouver Robson street store tonight. The store was very quiet. The sale section was about the same as last Friday but much more organized. It is so much more relaxing to shop the sale section when the clothes are neatly folded/hanging. There was still the additional 50% off sale prices. I bought the Lillian patent wedges for $137 and the floral border scarf for $42 before the 50% discount. Very pleased with both. The scarf is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI've been eying the scarf on-line. Glad to hear it is pretty IRL. How is the weight? Is it suitable for warm or cool weather wear? TIA
DeleteHi Marybe. The scarf is lighter weight. I would say for the Pacific Northwest I could wear this three seasons. It is probably a bit too light for winter wear. I could definitely wear this in the summer on cooler days and in the evenings. The colours in the scarf are really lovely and I think it will pair well with lots of colours.
DeleteI love the Tassel Trim earrings SO much that I bought the matching necklace today! Yah....crazy! Not to be worn together of course.....I got 25% off in the store and then I had an additional 20% coupon. Brought it down to $90.00. Also tried on the Poppy Fringe necklace in the store. I ordered it later (should have bought it in the store with my additional discount...dur!) online along with the Geometric silk caftan dress. Both at 30% off. I have high hopes for the caftan dress....I love the print!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if stores have gone back to allowing sale items to be shipped from the store directly via phone charges?
ReplyDeleteI do that all the time.
DeleteThanks Ina! I have two stores "near" me, but they usually abide by what cs says. It's good to know other stores still ship items out! I'll try another store!
DeleteReview of the Cleo perforated loafers in belvedere red. $129.99 online vs. $59.99 in-store + addtl 40% or 50% off.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is looking for a thorough review of the J.Crew Collection culottes in Hibiscus Floral or wants to see a few pictures of them on, please check out my IG account @marielarue7 at http://instagram.com/p/pzLq6DR596/?modal=true. I also have a number of other J.Crew outfits if anyone is trying to get a sense of how some items look when worn.
ReplyDeleteIn-store promo pricing info based on signs I saw yesterday:
ReplyDelete25% off bags, belts, in-case jewelry & socks
30% off 3" chino short, select loafers, vintage cotton scoopneck tees
30% off the linen v-neck pocket tee, which is 40% off online w/SPLASH thru today.
Those were the signs I saw for sure. Out-of-case jewelry might also be 25% off, but I didn't see a sign & didn't ask.
Review of the merino baseball sweater in scallop intarsia, which nets $20 in-store if you can get an addtl 50% off.
ReplyDeleteVisited the Lake Forest location yesterday. The sale section had a nice selection and was well organized. I went to this store because it usually carries more jewelry than my other J Crew haunt, but the jewelry selection was much more sparse than usual. I remember in another post that someone mentioned that their store would be phasing out jewelry. I hope this is not the case in my local stores as, even more so than clothes (for me anyway), jewelry often looks much different IRL. I like to be able to see jewelry in person before purchasing. Loving the 50% off clearance though. It was still going on and I ended up with some items I had been on the fence about- and am now glad that I did.
ReplyDeleteFactory - review of 4 items, incl the anchor (not a) sweatshirt in this post.
