"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. A couple of new arrivals are online this morning. A couple of cute tops, but no must-haves. What's up with the tunic sweater (a9190), who wants to wear "wool/acrylic/linen/alpaca" in JUNE?

    3. What has happened to all the cute short sleeve cardigans they would offer in the summer? They have been an essential in my wardrobe for years! I guess they want to sweat us out of everywhere!

    4. Barbara, I think that LOFT has the short-sleeved cotton cardigans this year in lots of colors.

Gigi - LOL! Begone, drop shoulders.. and take ugly zippers with you!

  2. No sales lately on new items which has caused me not to buy, I can't see paying $65!! for a cotton pintuck cami without a percentage off.

  3. I bit this morning! I bought (at full price and haven't worn yet) the two toned panama, which has been really popular in my stores, and this morning I see it's on sale! What!? It was reduced and on sale! So now it's like 50% off! So I reordered it, the pleated poplin skirt in seascape and two of the structured V-neck shell (black and sea salt). WHEE!

    1. I just called today and got a price adjustment on the drawstring cove floral pant that was delivered yesterday. They are now $38 cheaper than full price with sale plus sweet promo.

  4. So annoyed: I ordered the dot underwire swing top tankini and it arrived with one strap. The description says it comes with two sets of straps (one set of regular bra-like straps, one set of halter tie straps) so I called and the Rep was nice, but said they had to pass this on to another department to try and locate them. I just got an email saying they cannot find them and to let them know if I have any questions...

I called BACK and they told me even though the suit is in stock that they can't just ship me the missing straps, I have to return the suit for a whole new one.

This is such a pain and such bad service. I'm just returning it, not returning it and hoping they send me a complete swimsuit next time.

  5. J.Crew is really off their game this season. With 5 weddings to attend this summer, I'm not seeing even ONE dress I can see myself wearing. Sad day. J.Crew used to be my safe bet.

  6. it's been said many times before, but the photos! they're so washed out! I've returned so many items because the color was no where near what it seemed onscreen. :/

  9. I bought a pair of white JCF chino shorts in February. I go to put them on today, and they are TERRIBLE!!! They are soooo see-through. The pockets are so obvious and it's ugly. Ugh. Does JCF takes returns if it's been over 30 days? (I don't mind getting a gift card as long as I can return these terrible things.) I should have looked at them sooner so it's totally my fault, but seriously...that's just ridiculous. If they are not see through in the retail store I'll probably just buy those because I really wanted white chino shorts...
