  1. I don't know what "select summer styles" means. Nothing was marked this morning & I added a tee & a skirt to my shopping cart, applied the promo - nada.

  2. I added two items to my cart - a necklace and a sweater - the promo code applied to the sweater but not the necklace...kind of annoying to not know which "select" items are included!!

I have my eye on the textured dot short sleeve sweater which is part of the promotion and the jeweled triangle necklace which is not.

  3. I was excited about this promo but it is 35% off select summer styles - not everything and, of course, the items I wanted are not included so I'll be sitting this one out. I found that I had to click through my email which brought up the page that has the items on sale. When I went directly to the site I could not find out which items were part of the promo.

    1. Thanks for the tip about clicking through the e-mail to reach the "hidden" sale page. Shopping shouldn't be this difficult!

  4. Oh that is a bummer! I did not realize it was just select styles. :( Thank you for pointing it out- I updated the post with that info too.

  5. The 50% off sale section on the JC site is pretty scary. They have really slashed prices but it isn't working. The pleated crepe shorts are only $17.50 after the discount but are still available in a full range of six colors. There are lots of items that are 80% off and not moving at all.

I wonder about planning and assessment at JC. The fluted crepe skirt (the short one) was kept on for a second season even though it didn't sell well the first time. Now there are seven colors and a ton of sizes in each languishing in sale at very deep discount.

It seems that they are panicking...(and they should be!)

  6. I was up in the middle of the nite and went thru the site a little bit to try and figure out what was an addtl 35% off. Tried it on a pair of shorts, a rashguard, thinking those are clearly beach items. No discount applied. Usually they have a link to a page of the items the promo applies to. I think someone messed up.

New reviews of the tie-neck peasant top & new pineapple print Charley.

    1. Gigi, I hate to bother you, and I may be too late, but I was trying to find your previous review of the Collection Featherweight Cashmere tipped henley and couldn't find it on your blog. Could you link me to it? I think I may have missed out on my size, but maybe I'll catch a popback. I'm a sz. S in sweaters and t-shirts, and sz. 4 usually on top and was going to get the sz. S, but hesitated for some reason. I was going to pull the trigger Monday and got sidetracked the entire rest of the day. Thanks!

    2. Jruby18 - It's never a bother. Just a mtter of whether I'm near a good internet connection or not ;)

I swore I reviewed that, but I'm not seeing it when I search. I have a few ways to search, but it's not coming up. There are a few reviews that disappeared from my site and that might be one of them.

I can't remember if I tried XS or S. I'm sorry. Maybe call customer service to get the chest measurement to be sure about fit.

  7. I was at the JC B&M store in Sherman Oaks, CA over the weekend. I was exchanging the cove floral drapey top in a size 6 for a size 8. The store was sold out of the top and it had to be ordered online. The salesperson gave me a price adjustment for the most recent sale price (about $42) and using the red phone, I got free shipping. Moreover, the sale section was small, but packed with shirts, sweaters, and skirts. Scored the fluted crepe skirt in Navy for $35--a basic and a price I can live with. :) I agree with other JCAs--J.Crew needs to rethink the sale section.

  8. Yeah, this promo was a little strange... I bought a t shirt, bathing suit and rash guard and the 35% off only worked on the rash guard...

  9. I would have bitten and ordered the cotton/linen mini solid-colored skirt in venetian green, but only the printed version was on sale. Weird. Needless to say, I didn't place an order.
