    3. I need to stay away. I just bought the Patch Pocket skirt, so nothing really needed right now. I was missing a navy wool skirt in my closet.

  2. New stuff online this weds? Is that why the promo ends tomorrow?

I may have ordered the cashmere leggings this morning in a moment of complete ridiculousness.

    1. Just ask a VPS to place the order for you. Shipping is always free when you do that.

    2. Not always. Mine only allows free shipping with a full priced item.

    3. I'm definitely out of the J Crew Whee! phase anyway, will wait until the next rollout and promo I think.

  4. I don't like one day promos...I really hope they do not do the daily new promo thing this week...if so I'm off to shop somewhere else. Why ? because I always seem to get have to ask ( beg) for price adj. because so much is up and down with the prices and items offered.

    1. I never have to beg for price adjustments. In fact, I just got two today, including one on a backordered item that I ordered a while ago. I always find J. Crew CS to be so nice and they don't even bat an eye when I ask them to do it. They just ask for my order number and go ahead and make the adjustment.

    2. I too received a price adjustment today. Took all of 5 mins. CS was super nice about it.

  5. FYI, this works on Barbour coats. I just ordered the winter durham jacket and will return the one I paid full price for. Yay! This runs smaller than the Beadnell, like the Ferndown and Calvary.

    1. Thank you so much for posting this! I called and got a PA since I just received mine last week. The fine print says third-party items are excluded from the promo so I wouldn't have even checked. You saved me $100!! THANKS!

  6. The gold Bar-Stripe tee is up, I missed that it was online before. Just an fyi.

I just posted reviews of the Lace Peplum Top and the Peasant Top in stripe here.

  7. I picked up a few sale items, the french knot Tippi (again) and the houndstooth Tippi...but based on my lack of luck last week with nothing I ordered actually shipping, we'll see if I actually get them.

    1. Shopmurphy. Good luck with the Tippi I had mine cancelled and it has not popped back in my size that I was able to catch. One of us needs to actually get it shipped to us.

    2. Same here with the Tippi since the Cardperk promo! Should have known not to get my hopes up when the price kept changing whenever I added more items to my shopping cart.

    3. JRSConifer & Candece, sad to hear that I wasn't the only one with issues! I did get a shipment notification today...so hopefully it comes in good shape. Fingers crossed that you can find a popback!

  8. Review of the gold-stripe dress. Currently on promo for $188 so it nets $141 with GETGIFTING and $131.60 with CARDGIFTS. Love the dress.

  9. Addtl 40% off final sale still going in-store. They're not running the 25-30% promo. So it's online only, as stated.

    2. So, bizarrely, I went in to return my Barbour jacket that I bought full price in store last week, but repurchased online this am for 30% off (see above), and my store was stacking the 25/30 promo ON TOP OF the 40% off sale! Sale stuff is pretty old so I didn't get much, but I did get the merino boyfriend sweater for about $25 (orig. $88), the botanical linen tee for something like $15, and a wool baseball cap for about $13. I also got the navy necklace sweatshirt, full price less 30%. I love this one -- surprised that I have not seen more reviews of it...

  10. Rynetta of JCrewIsMyFavStore shared that the Claremont tote and purse were on promo over the weekend. Purse promo price was $175.

  11. It didn't even cross my mind that this one wasn't in stores too. Why make our life so complicated? I know some stores will probably honor it but it could be easier.
Anyway I just saw in store a new Merci tee that looks like the Kiss Kiss one. It's charcoal and the lettering is natural (it says Merci in various languages just like the Kiss Kiss. At the end it says Cheers (odd). It is cotton/modal like the Kiss Kiss and not linen, priced at $45. It fits well (TTS) but again not very festive. In another color or with Silver lettering I would have bought it probably.

  12. OT - Blarney Mills 20% off Arans promo ends today. FS both ways for US customers. Thanks to Wendy, we can all see what the Rosarie shawl Aran looks like.

    1. On the Blarney topic, just in case any Canadians were on the fence about purchasing from Blarney, I was pleasantly surprised when my order was an additional 20% off of the listed (sale) price. This only showed up during checkout and was explained with "*The country you are shipping to is tax exempt and tax has been deducted from your order total." So that was nice! And it more than made up for the $15 shipping to Canada (which I had been a little annoyed at paying since it's free to the US).

  13. I just got a call from an SA at my local (40 minutes away) store in Greensboro, offering me 25 percent off anything in-store tomorrow. I told her I had just been in the store yesterday and sadly had seen nothing to even try on. We had a long chat about the lack of clothes for working women. She said they have heard a lot about the capri pants, non-work blouses etc. She said the store had gotten new merchandise last week. I did see a cream sweater with a black graphic design of a skier. Very soft, all wool, but sort of a flat design, if that makes sense. I didn't see anything else I hadn't seen before.

    1. Interesting; I'm glad they are getting feedback about the over-casualness of most of their offerings. This is season has also been especially bad in terms of the drabness of the color offerings and the masculinity of the women's clothes. It used to be that they would throw in a "borrowed from the boys" piece with an otherwise feminine outfit. Now everything is so androgenous.

      Delete
    2. Cass, ita agree about the masculinity of the clothes. I haven't been interested in many of the retail offerings because of that. I feel for the personal shoppers. I think they're taking a hit.

      Delete
    3. I also ask myself who is buying the pajama tops and diaper pants they are putting out as daywear. They keep rolling the stuff out!

I think J.Crew over-corrected from the last ruffle and sequin phase. I know people starting complaining about things being over-embellished, but now everything is drab and boring. How about a little feminine flourish like a single well placed ruffle on a blouse collar? Just don't tack random haphazard ruffles all over everything. That's where they went wrong. Their biggest sellers in the past have been feminine items with a single well thought out embellishment--the victoria blouse, the bella jacket.
I also miss the merino cardigans with beautiful floral or graphic prints, or a small touch like the melanie cardigan with the cute little enamel buttons. I am really needing some medium weight sweaters right now (not cashmere) and the only option is the tippi, which is super plain and I think overly casual for my work wear with the baseball-neck looking collar.

      Delete
    4. I miss the merino cardigans too. One of my favorites - that I still have and wear - has a merino ruffled neckline. Something different but not over the top and work appropriate.

    5. It's funny that you all think their clothes are skewing too casual. I think they're too dressy for my lifestyle. Although, I admit, I have become the extreme end of casual as a full time sahm. It's just that most of the sahm moms I know would not throw on dressy capris, heels, a sweater and a "statement" necklace to run to the grocery store or Target. I feel like I'd stick out like a sore thumb if I did that. I've mainly bought basics lately (Minnies, t-shirts) and maybe a few sweaters. My issue is the pricing and the pricing games are ridiculous.

  15. I really like the new skier sweater. It seems like the only way to find it is by searching for skier on the web site. It doesn't show up in any lists of sweaters. In the looks we love it says to call to pre-order. It has 3/4 sleeves but I don't mind because I put a long sleeve tee under it. It works well under a dark jacket for my work clothes purposes. It's soft, not too heavy, not itchy, 100% wool, and fits me well in my usual size small. The zipper on the back seems completely decorative. I can easily get the sweater on/off without unzipping it.
