Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

    I've shared a lot of J.Crew-like items in this post on my blog. Included this week are alternatives for the Perfect shirt in tartan, Elbow-patch sweater, and Excursion quilted vest in herringbone just to name a few. :)

    Boden started two sales this week. One is permanent...the items that were *just* 15% off with my blog's sidebar coupon are now "at least" 25% off with free shipping.

    The other sale is part of their half-weekly reductions, and until tomorrow night includes dresses, shoes, and bags. It started on Monday, btw.

    There will be a new weekly reduction starting Friday, so check back if there are things on your wishlist that you would like to see further reduced before you buy them that aren't included in the first half-weekly sale.

    I got a Talbot's catalog in the mail and they have a pretty cute looking toggle coat that's lined in Thinsulate. They've also got Niki Taylor modeling for them... takes me back to my Seventeen magazine-reading days!

    I've been enjoying Gap for a while now, although they can be a hit or miss. But that's really true of any retailer. Anyway, I read here that Gap cardholders can enjoy 50% this weekend as a preview to their Black Friday sale. Have any cardholders received anything in the mail??? Oh an totally OT, but I finally bit on a Marc Jacobs Natasha Mini that I have been looking at for at least a year that was marked down 30% for the PiperLime 30% off site wide sale this week. This bag NEVER goes on sale, so I'm happy!!!

      Hi TeacherStyle - I haven't heard anything from Gap yet, but got an ON postcard in the mail yesterday that said they'll be doing 40% off for cardholders on 11/27-11/28. That's pretty much unheard of for them, so I wouldn't be surprised if Gap goes to 50%.

      Hmm…interesting. I don't how accurate this site is, but it looks like ON will be doing 50% for Black Friday as well. Here's the link to the ad.

      You can get 40% off non-cardholder, 50% off cardholder today online, but it's regular price only. I received a coupon for the 50% off as well, and you can take it off regular and sale items in store.

    For you JCAs that like the Sorels from J Crew. You should look at Sierra Trading Post. They have an amazing selection and the best prices. Sign up for their emails and you get even better prices. That is where I always get my winter boots from. Right now the Sorel Joan of Arctic with the Deal Flyer coupon is $68.22 in 5 color combos. HTH
