Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. SHOPJCREW still working for 30% off sale items. Should work thru 11:59 PST. Thanks again to Alterations Needed, as this code was never posted on jcrew.com that I know of.

  3. Awfully quiet in the J. Crew blogosphere this week - I was wondering why?

I'm pretty shopped out after all the recent promos,so I won't be going this weekend. Most of the summer things I've bought are still hanging in my closet with the tags on with all the weird weather. History tells me that by July I will start getting interested in fall stuff, so I need to get a move on and wear my summer acquisitions!

    1. ruffles - I agree! Super quiet.

I try to stay in the current season and not look too far ahead. I've purchased things in July that I had no interest in by the time the weather changed. However, this year I'm not interested in too much and am looking forward to fall.

    2. Same here Gigi! Living in SF, there is no need (well for me) to have all these shorts, tees, linen things. I can't wait for fall.

    3. Funny, I was thinking the same thing, usually lots of posts to read. I am planning on stopping by either today or tomorrow since I will be at the mall. Like Ruffles our weather has been all over the place and so many tee's, skirts and dresses have not even been worn. So I am going to try some restraint unless it is something I do really need.

    4. JRSConifer - We had rain on Monday and now a heatwave this weekend. I can't keep up.

    5. I know, we had a weekend of 80's, now it 60-70's. Plus at home our temps are a good 10-15 degrees cooler than Denver, so I have still been wearing long sleeves and assorted layers.

    6. In terms of the quietness: I'm kind of bored of the recent offerings. I haven't been excited about J.Crew for awhile, unfortunately.

  4. I have also been pretty shopped out, plus I have been spending my money at other sites besides J. Crew. I did a bit of damage on Monday, when they were offering 30% off the sale items plus free shipping for Canadians. I visited the Toronto Eaton Centre store yesterday and the sale section was really limited.

I finally got my Lillian suede sandals yesterday, and I am so happy with them. Based on earlier reviews on JCA, I took a risk and ordered a half size down from my usual 7.5. It was a good call, the size 7 is a perfect fit, and I think a 7.5 would be slightly too long in the foot bed. Cannot wait to wear them, they are so comfortable and sleek-looking!

    1. Oh you got your Lillians! That is great! I called about mine a couple of days ago and they are still saying July 8th.

    2. cate, my original order said it was backordered to July 8, so I bet you will be receiving yours soon. Let me know what you think about the sizing! I still can't believe I am wearing size 7s. The last time my feet were size 7, I was in high school! Has vanity sizing hit the shoe section??

      Delete
    3. I wonder if they will just show up or if I will get a shipping notice first. The footbeds for these are just long, it's odd. I am very consistent in my shoe size, I could order almost any shoe sight-unseen and be correct. So, what color did you get?

      Delete
    4. I got a shipping confirmation email last Friday (UPS delivery to Toronto takes about 4 business days). I ordered the black. I'm now debating the metallic silver, but not sure if I should go for the 7.5 for those ones, as I don't think they will be as stretchy as suede. The metallic silver is backordered until August!!

      Delete
    5. You could be right about the silver not stretching. August! I tried on the Tabby T-strap sandals in metallic silver because they were on sale at the store but they weren't good on me. That style is harder to wear, plus that extra buckle is too much work.

    1. sksk21 - I thought I ordered a necklace from Groopdealz and guess I forgot. It was the beaded rose. You can see it on Apples & Pencil Skirts. I ordered a bow bracelet and they ran out. I was sent an email offering another color, but declined. So no experience to share yet, but I check daily. I'm very curious.

    2. I ordered that necklace from Groopdealz a few weeks ago (May 13) to be exact and I still haven't gotten it. Just want to warn you before y'all buy!

    3. Thanks,G and JMW! I ordered one. Good thing I paid with paypal. @gigiofca, your blog is the first place I check before ordering anything from J.Crew. Thanks for the hard work!

    4. I got another shot at the mint beaded rose necklace & wasn't convinced I recvd it. Ironically, I recvd it today! Not too long after we were talking about Groopdealz. Pic added to the bottom of this post.

  7. I'm going by my B&M this afternoon to pick up a dress on hold, it's the Electric Kiwi Tunic, with the sale price and additional 30% off in stores it's almost 50% off and I liked it during the initial rollout so deciding to get it. I also have a return so killing two birds with one stone. I'm limiting myself to some of the fun prints and I wear dresses A LOT during the summer and that's mostly what I've been getting, unlike what JCrew seems to envision people wearing in the summer, merino wool and cashmere.

    1. I got the dress a few weeks ago, and I've worn it several times already. I am so in love with the print, and other people seem to like it too - the dress brings lots of compliments! Very comfortable and easy to dress up or down, with navy, charcoal, or black.

  8. Can I mention J.Crew's 'Looks We Love'-Look #2: Sweaty, disheveled mess...Who is responsible for putting that look together? A beautiful blouse mismatched with the cotton skirt and sneakers?

I might go to my B&M today...I have 2 weeks till my rewards card expires, and I can't find anything special that I want to use it on. Wish it didn't expire that soon.

  9. since I can't seem to use the reply...re: Groopdealz. Even though your payment is charged to Groopdealz, I believe they do not actually ship the items. They just highlight independent sellers. I ordered the "inspired" beaded rose necklace and a silver pave link bracelet from them last month and one arrived in a few days and the other item took about ten days. I'm guessing it depends on the seller. If you look at the listing it will tell you the "shop name" of where you're actually purchasing from.

    1. I got my fan necklace in today, my acct had a message from the seller stating that the remaining orders will be shipped sat. I love the necklace! I also ordered the pave square link for $19 and the enamel link for $9.99.

    2. I have a fan fringe necklace to sell ... It doesn't suit my taste. The chain is darker than the original JC necklace. If you are interested in purchasing it from me, I'm asking the $20 I paid, PayPal only. Please email me at maqsadshop at gmail dot com

  10. On topic... DH needs pants so we might end up checking out J.Crew which is a rarity that we'd both be there together :)

I would love to get up to the outlet to check out another size of the stripe linen cotton sundress, which I reviewed on my blog here. My outlets are a nightmare on the weekends so if it doesn't happen first thing tomorrow morning, it's not happening.

  11. Living in Miami these summer sales have been awesome! It's kind of a bummer when they start selling fall stuff in August and we're still in 90 degree weather! I've visited J Crew Factory twice in the last month a half when they had their 50% off everything! I got their adorable skinny belts for $6!!

  14. I may go in next week, but will wait until my recent order arrives to make sure it's going to work out for me. I was able to catch the lemlem® Hilansha patio dress in my size the first day it got marked down during the extra 30% off, and I'm really looking forward to receiving it. I know there was some discussion about the lemlem® items last week regarding the prices, and I do think they are overpriced, but so is every other item that J.Crew sells. That is why I wait to purchase until things get marked down, the lemlem® items included.

My first lemlem® purchase was the Lucy patio dress from a couple of years ago, and it is one of my favorite items of clothing. The cotton is incredibly soft, yet weighty, and it is extremely comfortable to wear. I throw it on over my swimsuit when we head down to the pool or beach, but have also worn it when just hanging out at home. I have noticed that some of the more recent dresses seem to be a lot more sheer, but I'm hoping that is not the case with the Hilansha patio dress.

  15. OT: There are a lot of new Promo-priced items at Madewell this week that receive an extra 20% off until 6.3.13. I've updated the list which can be seen here on my blog.

  16. I actually stepped into a B&M store today! Since I had kids with me, I decided to just hit the sale rack and specifically buy some tee shirts. I found 4 I liked, and got the 30% off, and then the sales associate, when I mentioned I worked as a university professor, gave me an additional 15% off on top of that.

Which made the tee shirts very reasonable indeed! I bought 3 of the painter boatneck tees (2 striped and a solid) and the "bon voyages" graphic tee (which was crazy cheap, and rather cute on, once I sized down).

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm returning two pairs of pants and hoping to exchange the sea horse tee, which came with a run (almost a hole) in it the other day...we'll see what else I can find. What's the statute of limitations on mail returns?

  20. CANUCKS TAKE NOTE: Probably won't make it to a store this weekend but I got my online order of the Marina mini-wedge espadrilles in navy (love btw) yesterday and with them came a booklet with two codes (not valid in the US) for online: 20% off plus free shipping & returns for me and a friend. I don't know if the codes are unique or not. I think not. The codes are valid til June 30.

    1. I placed a few orders during the 30% off + free shipping promo that ran last Monday. They arrived yesterday with the booklet and the codes. However, the Globe & Mail code is a better one as it gives 25% off (also with free shipping & returns).

      Delete
    2. Hi Louise, yes, I realized later that the Globe code is better. Too bad they run for the same period of time but its still nice to get some love from JC in Canada. I need a swimsuit.

    3. I know what you mean, they have never given free shipping AND free returns for Canadians. Having the free return is a huge enabler as returns via Canada Post are ridiculously expensive.

  21. Anyone know if the Matilda Tulip print came in a perfect shirt cut?

Saw the popover and pants, but kind of wished JCrew had done more with this print as I personally think it's more attractive than the Tesco Floral that they went all out on.

  25. Hi Everybody! I actually bought something yesterday! I got the Tippi in pop art for $41.00. It was marked down with an addition 30% off. And I had a lovely visit with the sales gals who miss me...and my credit card. I haven't been shopping much this year....I'm determined to wear what I already own. But I would have bought something else in a hot minute....if it was in women's size. Yep...it's the girls sailboat dress. Why does the Crew toy with me like this? This dress would be so wonderful for a grown up girl! It's very much like a very expensive and chic Carven dress I've seen. I'm about to email the Head Honcho about this is. How do you all feel about this?

    1. I love that dress! I want it too! The print is a re-colored version of a print they used back in 2005, I think. It was originally pink and green, and came in a strapless dress, a skirt, a cardigan, pajama pants, a cami, and a few other things. I've hunted down a couple of the pieces via ebay - I'm obsessed with the print.

  28. I tried on the Stripe Silk Tunic Dress (66912) and really liked it. It was really pretty, actually. It was too snug in the bust in a 00, so I would need my bigger of the two sizes, which they didn't have. The print is really pretty, the neckline is lovely and the sleeves aren't too tight! The length might be too short for tall ladies, but is fine for us shorties. HERE are the FIT PICS

  31. So just visited the new J.Crew store in Calgary, Alberta that opened today. It's awesome we [finally!] have a store. But its funny when I was browsing in the store and saw items I had already purchased online I felt a little disgruntled. Now my J.Crew treasures are not so exclusive and anyone in the city can buy them. Let me tell you I've thought about this over and over and I'm amused at my own attitude and the whole psychology of how much more we want things that are rare/exclusive/not easily available. I came away with the Boardwalk linen skirt in white and a belt. The skirt looked much nicer irl and not as full as I expected. There is a lining so its not see through at all.

J.Crew Canada will honour "in store" promo codes posted on the Canadian website and not advertised in store. All I had to do was mention the code at checkout. In this case "SUMMER30".

Anyone on the donut train? Trend is moving away from cupcakes to donuts here. J.Crew was celebrating the opening with these mini cream filled donuts with strawberry glaze. Sooo good! Yum, yum.
