This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING
arrivals {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
Will probably be going since I will be in the area.
ReplyDeleteAlso see some reviews here.
@cate: i received my thistle print shirt.I ordered a size 2(am usually a 0)because of the measurements. JC sent me a 0 and it fits, but i would say it runs small/short.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink print and it is super soft.
I will review it on my blog either friday or saturday.
HTH
Ina, uh oh, short is never good on me! I just got shipping notice on the smaller of the two that I ordered (pink). The larger of the two sizes (blue) has not shipped yet. Did you see it layered under the Stitchwork Stripe Top? Really cute!
DeleteI thought it ran tight in the arm pits? I don't think I have super huge arms or anything but it was really tight in the upper arms/arm pits...
DeleteI have the blue/green one. I'm returning but its a darling print, just a poor fit on me.
i bought the thistle print shirt in my usual size and it was too small in the shoulders/upper arms. i compared it to my other perfect shirts and popovers and it's definitely running smaller. i'm hoping they pop up in the stores soon so i can exchange it for a larger size.

ReplyDeleteNo plans to visit my local JC store this weekend, but I'm looking forward to reading what others think of some of the new arrivals.
ReplyDeleteI posted a few outfit styling ideas for the Linen Tippi sweater in the cute whale print here, along with a review of Madewell's slingback boardwalk sandal.

ReplyDeleteI won't be going. The new rollout isn't calling to me. There is nothing I want to spend my rewards card on right now :/
ReplyDeleteStill waiting for my rewards. Usually I get right away. My online chat person said I was slated to get one. Anyone else out there waiting? I loved getting an email rewards last time (instant gratification), but was told my was being snail mailed. Hmmmmm.... Hoping to use it to by some swimwear and still grab the 30% off. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteThe sales associates in store can look up your rewards card number and apply it to your purchase--I've done that numerous times.

ReplyDeleteSpent my (unfortunately substantial) rewards card in less than a week. My latest popback, which I am excited about: the vega metallic perforated sandals popped back in only my size! Have not read any reviews or seen this, but I love metallics and thought I'd give it a shot since it isn't even Final Sale! A less substantial but still exciting pop back: the purple poppy tea. I was late to the bandwagon on the peony esp. given my overflowing t-shirt collection, but when I saw and tried in store, I loved and had to buy it. Love the poppy one too, and was happy to find it today. So no, no retail store visit for me.
ReplyDeleteOn a different note, happy mother's day to all of the moms out there!!
Any deals on suiting? I'm wanting to get a 1035 suit in stretch wool. TIA!
ReplyDeleteHmm- there's 30% off factory. Anyone try factory light weight wool suit pieces? TIIA
DeleteIt's not exactly a work dress, but I bought the black Asymmetrical Shift Dress. It's a lighter weight than the retail Origami dress. I don't know if I'd wear it to work, though, it seems hard to put a layer over. I liked the lighter weight wool.
DeleteI'm wondering about quality of seams too in Factory. I don't want pulling or puckering if the material is thinnish. I'm leaning towards 1035 and just investing in a "good" suit.
DeleteI think you'll be happier with the 1035. I didn't inspect seams on the dress, but I'm sure it's not as good as the 1035 suiting.
Deletepathos - Thumbs up on the cotton shift dress. It looks just like the Allura from 2011, reviewed here. Will try to review w/pics tomorrow.
Deletepathos - Doh! I already reviewed the cotton shift dress in this post. Scroll down.
DeleteI got the Factory suiting last fall and liked it for the price. It was lighter weight and unlined, though, but I still thought it was pretty good for a suit.
DeleteThanks for the replies! Gigi that dress is really cute- I've always loved the Allura.
DeleteI have my eye on the polka dot chambray blazer!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a quick review/comparison of the Ruched Skirt swim bottom and the Graphic Dot high waisted brief. FWIW I am pregnant and due late Sept in the south where i could wear swim all through the summer with some regularity. Trying to avoid maternity specific styles.
ReplyDeleteThx.
I haven't tried those style on, but I am 7 months pregnant and have loved the jersey bathing suit. They haven't stretched at all, but don't cut in while wearing and are still very comfortable!
DeleteI used my rewards to get the Indigo Dot Schoolboy. Love.

In-Store Price Notes
I didn't visit JC but I did visit Madewell today- got the Skinny Skinny jean in oilwell wash-- it's like leather, only better. Very sleek. Then, when I got home, I found out they are reduced online, down from the $135 I paid to $109.50! I contacted them via online chat and got a refund. I am really digging Madewell and they even have reviews.
ReplyDeleteReview of the thistle print boyshirt,Bamboula for JC market tote and the caftan tunic in cove paisley
ReplyDeletehere.
Thanks for the review Ina!
DeleteWent in to do some returns yesterday and didn't see anything that really caught my eye in the new arrivals. My VPS did talk me into a pair of cropped matchsick jeans in the super light gray color. They were on sale (+30%) and I must say after trying them on that I loved them. Going to wear them today. I'm not sure if they run small or that I' just still harboring winter weight. My regular balked near my hips so I went one size larger and they fit perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll make it to the mall this weekend, but I do have a couple of returns so I may try to go later on this week.
ReplyDeleteFor those interested, there are a few new promo-priced items - Selvedge chambray shirt, Denim vest in workwear wash, and Collection featherweight cashmere cardigan. The Indigo floral popover got marked down and so did the Perfect shirt in mint plaid (which was just on promo this past week). I've updated the promo-priced items and markdowns list which can be seen here on my blog. Enjoy your weekend everyone! :)
If anyone is interested in the crystal cupcake necklace in white, it is on sale online for $79.99 before the promos (not available online but findable in store).
ReplyDeleteI went last night for a return and the sale section was quite large. Lots of cece flats and the janey flats in neon yellow. I have to say I really liked the fit of the Janey flat but I could not get past the neon part. One jacket that came home with me was the indigo floral quilted jacket. It was a very BIG surprise for me. I never tried it on because it did not get much blog love, but for $41 and change after the discount I thought let me try it. I really liked the fit and thought it would be a great alternative to a jean jacket on some occasions, it was soft and very comfortable IMO. I loved it!
ReplyDeleteAlso if anyone is interested there was one Punk Floral scarf left in my little B&M in Danbury, CT.
That's all for me..Happy Mother's Day all!!
Glad the jacket worked for you. I tried ordering two and the fabric was worn and pilled and horrible looking on both. I would never been seen in it the way the fabric looked. It was really strange. I tried the mint tweed jacket and even at 5'10" the jacket made me look two sizes larger and horrible. Loved the mint color and fabric; just not the quilting.
DeleteCheck out the Irl Pic Guide, if you're shopping the sale section. Lots of new links & some measurements, i.e. for the sleeveless shift dress & gilded dot brocade dress, etc...
ReplyDeleteA couple more in-store markdowns. The twisted stitch open-neck sweater in stripe & neon version are $59.99 in-store vs reg price online.
ReplyDeleteGigi, sorry to bother, butI was wondering if you know the in store price of the crystal crush bracelet?
DeleteAD MD - Crystal crush pieces are still fp in-store. HTH
DeleteNew in-store promo begins Mon. 20% off dresses. Good thru Wed. Perhaps this will be the next online promo as well...?
