This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Sunday, bright and early.
ReplyDeletePS wrote today and said new arrivals will be in stores next week.
There are some great deals running on J. Crew Factory and SHOPNOW works for an extra 30% off. Some dresses under $20 and belts under $10! Here's a review post from the factory items I ordered last week: http://sewpetitegal.blogspot.com/2012/04/j-crew-factory-reviews-super-sale-items.html
ReplyDeleteYes Sunday, my PS said in store 20% off sale
ReplyDeleteWant to try on and go from there..enjoy the weekend!!!
yes, I want and I have reviews of Long No. 2 pencil skirt, Cafe capri in Pop Art, floral scarf, Gondola stripe skirt and Keeper chambray shirt HERE. My store have plenty of items in the sale section and some better priced than online but no additional percent off as of yesterday.
ReplyDelete'I went' not 'I want'.
DeleteFreudian slip?
ajc: Definitely LOL
DeleteOT but the Natasha top in gardenshade floral went on promo overnight, down to 69.99 and the SHOPNOW code takes off 30%. It's only left in a few sizes, but this has been on my wishlist since it first came out, so I'm thrilled that I got one for $48.99! :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't a sale item end in .99 and a promo item ends in any other cent amount (i.e: 57.50)?
DeleteI wish my size was left, love that top! Lucky you!
So bummed busy days at work and never got the email and did not check JCA and missed out on this promo. Tried the gardenshade Natasha in test checkout today and did not get the promo oh well, lesson learned check JCA EVERY DAY. I did get some lovely items from the secret sale last weekend though.
DeleteI'm going to pop in there today to check out a few things, but will likely be in there on Sunday too (crazy much?). BTW, review of the Fresco peplum top today here.
ReplyDeleteNice that SHOPNOW works on Factory. I was in a factory store yesterday and tried on the Birmingham Tweed Jacket. It was $148 marked down to $79.99, but they didn't have my size. Just scored it online with the promo for $55, very cute for that price. Unfortunately I'm a sucker for those tweedy little J Crew jackets but not at the $500 price point they've been this year.
ReplyDeleteFor the SHOPNOW promo, is there free shipping with that? Already did some major damage and there's only one or two things I'd be willing to try from factory if I don't have to worry about shipping.
ReplyDeleteYou still need the minimum $175 to get free shipping, it seems.
DeleteHmmmm... I wonder if the chambray shirtdress 29509 is worth paying for shipping....
DeleteHas anyone ever placed an online order and not gotten a confirmation email right away? I also checked my order history and its not there. Not at the same computer I ordered from to check the cart. It was a little over an hour ago.
ReplyDeleteMeg - I've had that happen. I also noticed recently when I logged into my account right after placing an order, there was an option to cancel an order for a certain number of minutes after it was placed. Maybe they're giving this option now to cut back on the number of buyer's remorse phone calls to customer service. That might have something to do with the delayed confirmations.
ReplyDeleteThey've had the cancel feature for at least a year now.
DeleteI've also not had orders go through. Maybe I'm forgetting to click though all the way to the final "submit"? If it didn't get submitted, all the stuff should still be in your cart.
Meg, I am having issues with my account and accessing it. Have used the same e-mail and password since (it seems) the dawn of time and yet this morning it says that my e-mail address and password is invalid. Methinks something is going wrong in the world of J. Crew IT this morning.
ReplyDeleteI ended up checking out as guest to purchase the items, and had to use paypal since it wouldn't recognize that I had input my card number (when I had).
It was worth it, in the end, as those prices on factory items were crazy good, especially with the promo. My son will now have a few extra polos and tees in his closet for the price of one polo before the sale/promo. (And man did he ever need these.)
My orders were confirmed, though, through my "guest" e-mail, so I couldn't tell you what's going down on your end...good luck!
AND J. CREW, fix your internets.
There's also something going on with the zoom feature/item pictures. I can't open them up in a new window or tab (and haven't been able to since yesterday). At first thought it was a browser issue but it didn't work in either Chrome or Safari. Yep, something's not right...
DeleteThank you Autumn and dinagideon! I just chatted online and was told the order was not placed. Very frustrating as I had ordered the Natasha in gardenshade floral and now it's gone in my size. Maybe I can cross my fingers that my order hit the inventory system but isn't confirmed yet? I know I clicked 'submit' and must have gotten the 'thanks for your order' page if I shut the laptop and walked away.
ReplyDeleteMeg - this exact thing happened to me a week or two ago! I was so bummed, a few items I had been stalking were in the order and gone once I realized it had not gone through. Your experience does make me feel less crazy! In the end it worked out for me because I found the true size I needed in a popback that I had been compromising on, so hopefully your stuff will appear again as well!
ReplyDeleteIt is a good thing I am indecisive... I feel like I spend half my mornings with coffee/dog leash/makeup in one hand and my phone/ipad in the other stalking the sales, and never pulling the trigger in time. The number of items I would end up with if I purchased immediately is a little scary haha. So I guess thank you to JCrew for the high shipping minimum and to everyone else with my taste/size! My wallet appreciates it :)
I will try to hit a store on Sunday, I am getting my warm jade No.2 in the mail today so thank you to whoever gave the heads up about it being marked down in store now + the 20% that is coming up!
Rose: I got a similar email from my PS too. I also got a preview pic of a No. 2 in Seersucker! YAY! Don't know if it has the exposed zipper like last year's though. I really hope not. There was also a really pretty striped bow cami in the pic. Looking forward to seeing all the new stuff!
ReplyDeletecan you post a pic of the seersucker skirt..is it new to the spring line? thanks
DeleteIt's not a very good picture, quality-wise, but I'll put up a post on my blog here in a few...
DeleteI saw that skirt on my previous visit couple of weeks ago and I thougth it was beautiful. It had pockets! I don't remember about the zipper. If I am in store this weekend I will give it a try.
DeleteOoh, pockets! YAY. If it is without that exposed zipper then I am ALL OVER IT.
DeleteI put up a post with the pic of the skirt with the striped bow cami here.
AppGal, I got a pic of a long pencil skirt paired with a striped sleeveless top and one of a blue eyelet shift dress that looks gorgeous. Can't wait to see that!
Deletethe cami looks promising, I am into bows recently, hope they have it other colors...
DeleteRose can you post a pic of the items as well ? THANKS
DeleteI'm hitting the Yorkdale store tomorrow with a friend who is just as crazy/obsessed with JCrew as I am - might be a dangerous mix, LOL! I have already done a huge amount of damage with this week's promo and last week's Canadian promo, so I'll try to be restrained. I just placed yet another order this morning - the Factory prices with the additional % off were too good to pass up.
ReplyDeleteI posted a couple of preview pics on my blog HERE. An eyelet dress in a vibrant blue, although may be photoshopped as the model looks a bit blue herself, and a seersucker skirt and silk blouse.
ReplyDeleteMy PS Sent them yesterday and said I could pre-order before the new arrivals hit on Thursday. I included the text she sent to describe each look.

ReplyDeleteGoing on Sunday when they have extra % off sale. I have a few returns to make.
ReplyDeleteAppGal and xoxo: I received the exact same email from my PS yesterday, too.
ReplyDeleteIs the 20% off sale Sunday only? I'm flying to Texas on Sunday so will be visiting a B&M but wasn't planning to go as soon as I landed.
ReplyDelete@Elaine- I was so excited to see the sale for the gardenshade Natasha. I sadly got up very early and managed to snag one. Stalking paid off. :)
ReplyDeleteI have reviewed the eyelet dress from xoxo's email preview HERE, it is definitely purple, not blue and it also comes in white.
ReplyDeleteI am also expecting the anchor print items to be in this rollout.
Yes, I got one of those "cardholder preview" e-mails for the silk anchor print top you reviewed. It is on the site but may be hidden...
DeleteJ.CrewJD: You are right, the anchors aweigh blouse is on the website here.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI got that message, too, and thought about ordering it, but I just couldn't justify the price. Did anyone else order it yet?
DeleteI think the blouse looks much prettier on ajc than it does on the model in the website pics.
DeleteAh, FFM, now I see it on AJC! I didn't scroll far enough down in her reviews. :) It does look really nice on her, but she's right: It's still too expensive!
DeleteThe last few times I've tried to make the site remember / save my CC info, it hasn't done it. I don't know why; I never had a problem before. The little 'save info' box is checked. ... Very irritating when you know the clock is ticking and that something could fall out of your cart while you're trying to check out. Urgh.
ReplyDeleteI guess I meant to say the Natasha gardenshade floral top when on sale and not promo. To me there's little difference, a lowered red price is a lowered red price, lol. I took a chance on a size 6 since the 8 for me was too big through the bust. I looked to see if it was available in petite sizes, since I really would have preferred an 8p, but I didn't see it available in those ...
did anybody try the fabiola dress and can tell me it the fit in solid is the same as it leopard?
ReplyDeleteajc, I took a risk and ordered the Fabiola in solid after phoning CS for the measurements. It sounds like it runs TTS; size 6 has 36.5" bust and 29.75" waist. I will let you know how it goes.
Deletethanks Louise!
DeleteI live in Iowa, and I just called two different B&M stores--one in Minnesota and one in Iowa--and both sales associates told me that there is NOT going to be a 20-percent-off sale in stores on Sunday. One SA told me that there "was talk about it briefly but it's not going to happen." Does anyone know if this is actually the case? The one SA seemed quite firm about it!
ReplyDeleteI actually heard it was going to be 30%..... I guess we shall see.
DeleteThat'd be great! I sure hope you're right, Jruby18. Do you know: Are they just obligated to tell me there is no sale until it happens? I was wondering if it was some kind of sales tactic to get me to buy the skirt now. I really wish I lived closer to a B&M store. Iowa is a shopping wasteland! :) *sigh*
DeleteI also heard it was going to be 30%. That was as of Thu...I think, so things could have changed.
Delete...30 off sale items, that is. I am really curious to see what tomorrow brings.
DeleteBack from a quick stop in one of my stores, and thought I'd share a few price notes. The Rope Necklace Tunic Tee ws $50, the Talitha in feather paisley was $40, the Merriweather Jacket is $70 (waaay cuter on than expected), Valentinas in black and red $130, suede Mondas in berry $99, Olympia suede wedges in apricot and black $60 or 70 (I forget), Matinee trench in orange and khaki $109. This is before any discount. The SAs were really confused about that promo (and def weren't advertising it), as they hadn't been given any direciton on it. So I think it will come down to your store/manager/PS if they will match the SHOPNOW discount.
ReplyDeleteHey, shopwithm, did you see my post above re: the Sunday sale? Did you get the sense from any SA that they will NOT be doing a Sunday sale in-store? And did YOU have any luck getting them to honor the current SHOPNOW discount? If so, which store was it? I'll call there. I am on the hunt for the warm jade #2 for the best deal possible. :) Thanks!
DeleteThanks for the update, M! I really want the peacock paisley Talitha so I guess I'll wait for the second markdown on that one. Were you able to get the store to match the online discount? I had no success on Wednesday at North Michigan Ave. They had no idea re: the promotion since it wasn't on the J Crew home page. :(
ReplyDeleteAre we talking a "20% off sale items" or "20% off" sale on everything in the store (fingers crossed!) on Sunday...can anyone confirm? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteDoes anyone know if the polka dot Natasha or orchard tippi have been marked down yet in store? Trying to keep an eye out fo a return and rebuy :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was at my b&m earlier this week and Orchard Tippi was still FP.
DeleteWhy aren't any of the retail or factory headbands available online? I know they make some really cute fabric and bow versions, but all I see online are the tortoise ones. I'm having a Blair Waldorf moment and NEED some cute headbands, LOL.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have past experience with the lighter suede sandals or wedges as far as dirt showing up or sweat staining the suede sole parts? I'm rough ony shoes and think I'll roughen up the apricot mist suede color. Wondering if I should just play it safe and stick with black? Any helping appreciated!
ReplyDeleteMy PS is insisting no extra 20% in her store on Sunday, and said they can't honor the SHOPNOW extra 30% because it is not verifiable on the official website. Damn.
ReplyDeleteRuffles, that is what I was told too. I showed the Ebates page detailing the SHOPNOW promo but since it wasn't on the J Crew homepage, they would not match the discount.
DeleteI live very close to a B&M so I'll run in tomorrow to do returns and see if they'll tell me anything re: Sunday. It depends on who is working; some SAs are very helpful & others, well, not so much! I'll post what I find out.
Review of the awesome abstract leopard capris (!!) and the red flannel school-boy on my blog here. I am giving both pieces two thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I sized up one to layer, but it is a wonderfully made blazer at a great price!
DeleteI love my blazer, too! I found the fit to be TTS. This is the kind of piece I love to pick up on final sale!
Deletea little off topic, but has anyone tried the Lilah dress? I'm worried about the length. How "below-the-knee" is it?
ReplyDeleteLeah & shopalot -- One PS just told me that there will be a special sale on Sunday. She seemed pretty confident about that one. The other PS didn't mention it to me. Both matched the SHOPNOW promo, but there was definitely a ton of confusion about it, and it doesn't sound like a lot of SAs were given either the right info or approval from their districts. (So sorry I'm getting late to posting back about this, since the promo ends today!)
ReplyDeletekj -- I ordered the Lilah, but haven't received it yet. It looks to be the same silhouette as the Madelene dress, which I have and love. (I did a review of it previously for pics) It is definitely below the knee, but likely could be hemmed up if you wanted to do so.
To shopwithm. Have you recieved it yet? I want to order but would love to see how it fits :) Would appreciate if you share your thought with pics :) Thx!
DeleteI snagged this new Skirt at Factory - $79.50 less $10. In Jade - new print for spring. They also had a button down shirt in the same print. I might have to have that too :)
ReplyDeleteSee here
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=47154284
The skirt is gorgeous! That's the Casbah print from last year...So excited to see what other factory pieces they will have in this print. :)
DeleteAlso saw the peasant cap sleeve shirt in this print.
DeleteI picked up the Scallop Sateen Skirt in Shadow for $49.99 the other day with no additional promo! Made me a happy camper!
ReplyDeleteCropped fray jacket reviewed in this post. Currently on promo online for $118, last in-store price I saw was $99.99.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone share information on the cashmere boyfriend sweater? Sizing, quality, etc. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI found the quality good, similar to the turtleneck and cashmere tees. I have the cashmere boyfriend in heather beet. The one thing about the boyfriend style is that the arms are a little skinny and the body is wide and boxy, so a bit different than say the regular cashmere v-neck. I kind of felt like the sleeves where regular shape and the body was boyfriend shape. I wish the whole thing was oversized. I kept it anyway. Quality on this piece is par for JCrew.
DeleteThank you, Sara! Good to know! :)
DeleteUpdate: My PS just called me and told me that J Crew decided NOT to run the additional 30% off promo this Sunday in stores. SO sorry and disappointed!!! She was holding some things from my wishlist and I ordered nothing from the online promo because of this!! So angry. I am sorry about my post about it, but she called and sent a text to me so how could I have been wrong??
ReplyDeleteMB - That's a bummer. I would be upset, too. Thank you for sharing the update.
DeleteThank Gigi, I felt so bad that I posted it and it turned out to be wrong. J Crew is getting on my nerves now!!
Deleteno Sunday shopping for NJ anyway :-(, but this company has such weird sale pricing policies that it doesn't surprise me at all
DeleteOne of the sa's told me that the 30% was on for tomorrow only, so I asked the sm and she told me that "they" had cancelled it. Very strange. The sm did say that sales were up, so why should they offer the extra? Maybe this is why "the powers that be" don't normally announce these in advance. JC needs to understand that in today's technological world, word gets out quickly. So tell no one until you've decided and then don't change your mind.
ReplyDeleteWow, can't believe they cancelled it. I'm going to call my store tomorrow to ask before I make a trek in their. Otherwise, my visit can wait.
ReplyDeleteNo additional % off sale here (Birmingham, AL). BUT I did see some things that weren't on sale on the website that were indeed on markdown in the store. I ended up getting the Contrast Linen Baseball Tee for only $19.99. It's still full price online.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! I am looking for 2 hard to find items. The Raindrop Lace top in 00 and the Terrazo Tweed jacket in 00. If you see them could you let me know what store? I am hoping to wear either one for some wedding anniversary pictures that are coming up! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHey all, No % off in Syracuse NY (not sure about NYC) but plenty of sale items.
ReplyDeleteHoping someone could help me find the Valentina calf hair pumps in size 10. I got it for myself with the 30% off earlier this week and now my mom wants one but they're sold out of her size online. Does J. Crew do stock checks for sale items? Are these on sale in the B&M's?
Stopped by my B&M last night to do a return, they have a huge sale section but nothing new. I ended up with the Cotton Cable Sweater in byzantine blue which is a beautiful color for $19.99. It is a heavy cotton sweater but we just got a foot of snow :) No extra mark downs.
ReplyDeleteCalled a store. No addtl 30% off sale items today.
ReplyDelete*cough*(try tomorrow)*cough*
Like many of you, I got the promo email from my personal shopper with a few pictures of items that are coming next week. The seersucker skirt will be 22" in the regular length, and a petite length will be offered too. I was bummed, I was hoping it would be an office appropriate length for me. I really wish J. Crew would either be consistent with many other retailers, where the regular lengths are more like 23-24" and petites are the shorter ones, or offer tall lengths. I cannot tell you the number of dresses and skirts I've passed on because they're not long enough.
ReplyDeletePS told me that Tuesday night
ReplyDelete7-9 pm my store will have 30% off sale.
I'm not sure if it will apply to all stores.
Where is your store, if you don't mind me asking? :) Thanks!
Deleteok.. so i just discovered that I washed my favorite long sleeve cashmere tee in the wash (and it subsequently also went in the dryer). its not exactly ruined but I know in my heart that it's not the same anymore. should I restock and replace? are there sales in stores? i would love to hear your suggestions regarding cashmere purchases (i live for sales). thank you
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of cashmere cardigans. Only threw them in cold water(delicate cycle) in washer but never in a dryer. I would think yours may shrink a bit in the dryer but should still hold up ok.
Deletethank you! ive got my fingers crossed. i gently folded the sweater and hope it doesn't look terrible next season.
DeleteQuestion: Will J.Crew make price adjustments for the extra % off if it happens? It's within the 2 weeks.
ReplyDeletePhoebe, price adj are on full price merchandise within 7 days.
DeleteAgh, I'm mixing J.Crew's policy up with another store's. I forgot how lamesauce their price adjustment policy is. 7 days? Jokes.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Seattle store in Pacific Place. Cute, cute new bags in (straw leopard hobo and striped clutch). I got a pencil skirt in warm jade @ $59 (still $89 on line). The citron, purple, etc. were all $59.
ReplyDelete
