This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.
Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

ReplyDeleteI love the rugby stripe taffeta skirt in the pink/orange combo so much (see it here in an old JCA post:http://jcrewaficionada.blogspot.co.uk/2010/08/confession-time-i-miss-jcrew-let-me.html) that I'm having a similar one custom made. But, what do you wear with orange and pink? I'm not terribly girly, despite what this skirt might lead one to believe! Help.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably wear it with a crisp white button-down and a big necklace, but it would be fun to take advantage of all the neon brights and colorblocking trend that is so big right now and pair it with a top in either yellow or turquoise and pull in similar shoes/accessories.
DeleteSo I received an award at work and am going to be "competing" for the next level of this award next week. They require an interview, and I'm a little stumped as to what to wear since it is not a JOB interview--I've only ever had those. What do you all suggest? Should I stick with what I would wear for a job interview, or do you think there is more opportunity to punch up my outfit with some color/patterns to make myself more memorable? Any help would be appreciated!
ReplyDeleteDepends on what type of work you do. Is your workplace conservative? I would probably stick with something conservative.
DeleteHelp! I have a bat mitzvah and want to wear the San Remo silk print dress to services. How can I style it so it'd be appropriate in a temple? It's a pretty bold print, but it goes to just above the knee. It's going to be cold this weekend, so I'm thinking maybe black tights and black booties? Tall boots? Blazer? Ack! Suggestions greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteok just ordered the seersucker pencil skirt and a yellow embellished tee to go with it. How else can I style this skirt?
ReplyDeleteHere's a quick PV set with this skirt. HTH
DeleteThanks Rose :) I wasn't thinking it was that versatile but I think I need to think of it as a neutral.
DeleteThe jade green cafe capris. I have them and I love them, but I'm stuck for how to wear them other than with a plain black t-shirt! I have no white/bright pink stuff, which is what I often see them paired with.
ReplyDeleteStyle: a bit more manly, a bit less lace and ruffles.
Thanks!
