Lastly, I am super excited to see this promotion back at J.Crew. Of course, I am going to take a quick look around to see if there is anything I will get. ;)
Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?
Not much for me yet but will be stalking some popbacks this week - always a fun game!
ReplyDeleteack...broke down.finally bought the Drea peep toes and the natural pencil skirt....
ReplyDeleteStop now - enough buying. I have been a bad girl and you know when the new new stuff hits will want all that too!
So bummed! The wildcat blouse is already gone! Can anyone comment on the Morse Code cafe capris? Worth it? I know sizing but wondering if people love these? They look cute, but wondering how they translate IRL. TIA!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, for those of you loving the TIllary, I see it's available in the sale section!
I love the Morse Code cafe capri, the material is thicker than the regular cafe capri and softer imo. As far as fit, I took the same size in the regular cafe capri (I'm a size 0 in cafe capri). They're cuter in person, you can wear it with a lot of tops that are neutral to break off the pattern such as white, red, black etc. HTH.
DeleteJ Ruby18, I have the morse code capri's & like them very much. The first pair I tryed on had some pulls in the white threading on the rear end so look out for that. Also, I find they stretched out a bit so go w your smaller size. They look best fitted IMO and are off a thicker material which is nice for hideing those lumps/bumps & panty lines. They look great w/ a solid bright top. HTH. :)
DeleteThank you Joelle! *fingers crossed* it works out!
DeleteI have the updated list of Promo-priced items here. :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, the 30% off also applies to Factory items marked in red, but it looks as if they raised a lot of those prices since last week for this extra % off sale.
Intrigued by the Hutton trench trouser in festival green....and hoping for some popbacks. Contemplating the valentinas but am uncertain about size. Tried on my normal size, 6, in the spicy gold ones and they felt tight but dunno if they would stretch. Little scared to try them final sale. Shoes need to fit.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise nada.
I wish J.Crew would consider exchanges only on final sale items. As in, you can get it back for credit or the same item in another size. I think that would solve their final sale issues. It has been final sale forever and they still cannot get rid of stuff!
Yes, I bit!
ReplyDeleteThe Classic merino cardi in Cerise was available in my size after being gone all weekend. I fell in love with the color after finding it on Audreybella's blog (scroll down to get to it): real life pic.: Classic merino cardigan item 65370 in cerise.
Also, another Bright Dahlia cashmere sweater was available so I grabbed it w/o hesitation. The last Bright Dahlia cashmere I ordered didn't make it so I'm hoping this one does.
According to a cs I spoke with over the weekend, supposedly there will be weekly promo's. She told me to watch for emails. Yeah, right - I'll check here first. :)
Flower Power ita!! Considering how many things go to final sale so quickly, it would be wise for them to allow exchanges or store credit. Seems like a win-win for both retailer and consumer.
ReplyDeleteI figured there would be a push to get rid of sale items since new spring releases are due this week. Nothing for me. I have gone back and forth on the Fabiola dress a dozen times and finally decided not to buy something that I have to spend that much time trying to justify!
ReplyDeleteIf you can find one in store the yellow print one is $59 and then would be 30 percent off
Deletestill recovering from the last 2 weeks' promo. Still have 2 more shipments to come. But knowing myself, will keep going back to check for popbacks.
ReplyDeleteDoes the No.2 pencil skirt in cotton fit the same as the wool version? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI would say yes. I have pics on my blog of both -- if you search by keywords, posts should come up. HTH
Deletei don't know if it's the same as the wool, but i feel like the no.2 cotton pencil is running larger this year, compared to previous versions. i had to size down this season and my weight has not changed.
DeleteThank you ladies!
DeleteRose, I did look on your blog and you were my inspiration for the natural one:)
Can anyone give advice on what time each morning the website is updated with inventory? I've heard before around 5am, but I was watching it this morning with no luck until 5:30 when I gave up. Is it just sometimes a waiting game?
ReplyDeleteForgot to add that the promo was on the website while I was checking, so that's part of why I was puzzled! Didn't check again until 8am but by then nothing I was watching for was available.
DeleteAs a freak who exercises at 5:30 EST every morning and regularly checks the site, I can answer this. Around 5:30, new inventory seems to shows up but often the total number of items in the sale section doesn't change until 5:45 or 6.
DeleteThank you, this helps! Will try again tomorrow a.m. :)
DeleteYes, the popbacks start trickling in around 5:30am EST. You can see updated sizes in some things, but it takes a period of time for the site to completely update. So even if the total number of stock doesn't change until 545, 6 as Autumn stated, there will be updated sizes available.
DeleteI want to buy a swimsuit but I don't want to buy one when they are final sale and risk it not fitting me. I've never worn JC swimsuits before.
ReplyDeleteI have found the swimsuit run large. I first tried a 14 then a 12 and I was a 10 in the end ( I find in other brands I usually have to size up from my clothing size... I am between a 10 and 12.) The bandeau style suit adds alot of extra material with the heavy pleating / overlapping of fabric... makes the bust look too large for me. Overall I don't think the swim suits are anything special no better than other less expensive ones. The only reason I ordered one is I wanted the pretty paisley print one. I don't like the fit at all. Hope this helps. Carolyn from Vancouver
DeleteAnyone know what items are on sale in-store but not online?
ReplyDeleteBtw: I was able to find the black teddie dress on sale at my store last week. I didn't get the 30% off but it was$119
DeleteValentina pumps in Roof Top Red was marked down to $129.99 as of yesterday. Read on a blog that with the B&M's honoring the 30% off promo, the shoes come to $91. They're still FP online. Reviews of the shoes plus a few other things on my blog tonight.
DeleteI wanted to get the orgami dress in red on Friday when it was $149.99, now with the extra 30 sale it went back to full price. They are so ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteEhhh, I see a few things but I think I'm going to wait it out a little longer and see if further markdowns are afoot. The FP items I want are STILL not marked down yet, WTF? I've been waiting for weeks! Grrrr. LOL
ReplyDeleteReally glad I grabbed that gardenshade floral Natasha last week during the 'secret' sale. It's due to arrive tomorrow, wheeeeeeeeee! I hope it's as pretty IRL as it is online.
Elaine - I have the Natasha in Gardeshade floral and love it! It is a beautiful top IRL. I have pictures of it on my blog here.
DeleteElaine, any chance you could share pics of the Natasha once you receive it? I'm debating it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSavvy Shopper - I posted a link to my blog above in reply to Elaine. HTH!
DeleteI'm staying put this sale, but will have some reviews tomorrow or late tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe only things I want at this point I haven't been able to find/try on in any store, and they're too risky for final sale, so I'm sitting this one out. Hoping this is last ditch effort to stick customers with merch until final sale goes away (hopefully end of this week??)
ReplyDeleteI think if this stuff was returnable customers would bite at earlier markdowns. Instead JC has to keep cutting the prices because customers don't want to take the risk. Not sure their FS policy is really helping them because of that.
I sure will, savvy shopper! I just hope the colors are as clear and bright as they look online. I was disappointed to get the Matisse Blue Natasha in the mail and it was really dark -- still nice, just not what I expected. So I'm witholding judgment on the color until I see this one IRL!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to add for anyone who may be considering the cotton prairie stripe PJs ....I bought the pants, shirt and cami and like them all a lot, but the cami has NO LINING in the cups! Fail! So it is, ah, a bit revealing. I'm going to have to take it to someone to have something put in. In its current state, I couldn't even walk out to get the mail in it.
Avoid disaster! Links to final sale merch irl pics in this post. There are some in-store vs online prices noted in this post. Some items are marked down in-store that are not marked down online, ie. the rope necklace tunic tee.
ReplyDeleteargh! these sale codes are killing my wallet!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when we can expect our rewards cards? I think I'm going to hold off on shopping until I get mine.
ReplyDeletesugarmagnolia - They will be issued in May. I'm not sure if it's beg, middle or end of May.
DeleteIs the Amie stripe maxidress on sale in stores? I feel like it wasn't last week but it's been on FS online for a while.
ReplyDeleteI'll be on the lookout!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have a review on the Olympia suede sandals? I so want the black one!
ReplyDeleteI'm so mad...I bought something on sale at the store this weekend but already took the tags off. Oh well. I would've only saved $4. But still.
ReplyDeleteClaire (sorry my Reply button doesn't want to work), it was on sle in store last week in the red colorway (not sure of the price though).
ReplyDeletescored the Crinkle chiffon skirt for $39.99 instore and then 30% off. Pretty happy about it. Sized up to my flair skirt size.
ReplyDeleteTwo items I was hoping to get when final sale ended are now sold out in my size. Just wasn't meant to be...I am not sorry I missed out though and stuck to my guns of not buying final sale b/c final sale is just the pits when you cannot see or try on first.
ReplyDeleteI bought several things from Talbots and got lots of compliments at a cocktail party this weeknd on my black lace jacket:)
Has anyone seen the Sovereign paisley cafe capris in store and knows if they have been further marked down (from $109, last price seen)? TIA
ReplyDeleteEma, I saw them in the Bellevue Square store in Bellevue, but I didn't check the price since I wasn't interested in them.
DeleteSaw them today, no addtl markdown. Markdowns are supposed to happen again tomorrow, Tues.
DeleteDoes anyone have the regular J.Crew chino shorts (any length) in white?
ReplyDeleteDid you like them?
I bought the J.Crew Factory 5 inch chino shorts in white and it turned out to be a huge mistake! They are practically sheer! Even with nude undergarments on, you could still see through them, even the entire inside of the pockets. Ridiculous!
The factory chinos are a pass for me due to the thin material (I tried them in orange). Before this year, I hadn't tried factory shorts since 1997!
DeleteI have JCrew chino shorts, in white, from around two years ago and they are not sheer, and I like them alot. Also, I found they're cut a wee bit bigger than the other colors.
The fabric is incredibly different between the factory and retail chino shorts. I've never had any problems with the retail chino shorts - the fabric is weighty and sheerness is not an issue, in any color.
DeleteEma- I saw them today in Philly and they were still $109. LOVE THEM though! Snagged them online during the secret promo last week and can't wait until they arrive tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone reviewed the Cashmere summer fling sweater? I was wondering about sizing and quality.
ReplyDeleteOT- Vancouver JCAs, the Robson store will be opening on April 25. YAY!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteRose thanks for the update. Will you go? I'll wait a few days until the mayhem is over and then go. Will a new store have a sale section right away? Will there be any opening deals? Will Jenna be there ? I may not be able to sleep tonight... Carolyn from Vancouver
DeleteYou are too funny! I am out of town, unfortunately, so I will be missing it. Sorry, but I can't answer any of those questions for you. You should go, though, and report back to us. :)
DeleteHas anyone else ordered the summerweight chino short in oceanfront?
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with the style photo showing the blue chino short with the dark denim western shirt. I saw the sale price but hesitated because they were marked final sale. I went ahead and ordered and felt smug as they sold out.
Today I received the package and I'm so disappointed. The fit is ok but the color is nothing like what was pictured on site or in the style photo. "Oceanfront" is more green than turquoise and not as bright. It does not look so cute with the dark denim shirt IRL and actually it's just a funny color :(
If anyone is looking for the double serge tipped hacking jacket in black, the Lake Forest IL store had several available as of this afternoon. I think they were $179.99
ReplyDeleteThe SA at another location mentioned that they were planning to do more markdowns later this (Monday) evening.
O/T but Shopbop.com is having 20% off now thru Apr 18 11:59 p.m. with code INTHEFAMILY20 -they carry Madewell on their site.
