This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING & SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
No trip for me this past weekend, but I may try to visit at some point this week.

ReplyDeletedrove out to my crewlet, v. disappointed. I think I used up all my Crew-karma for the summer when I scored the Jardin Jacket, thanks to a WONDERFUL and PERSISTENT PS. It runs skimpy (surprising at that price? maybe not), so I was hunting a size or two larger than I usually wear to get kind of a 1930's retro look, and SUCCESS! and I love it! So... the outlet let-down was nothing by comparison. Haven't worn the jacket yet, too busy admiring it. Crewlet had the usual. Will be returning the silk cargo dress in town later this morning.
ReplyDeleteI also went to my local crewlet. There was nothing new that caught my eye, but a rack of VERY marked down black toothpick jeans did. My mother told me I "had to try them on" since "Oprah said every woman needs black jeans" (haha)--so I did, and surprisingly, I loved them. They are super stretchy, comfortable, and shockingly flattering. The best part was that they were $19.99-30%!
ReplyDeleteHeading to a retail store today...will report back what I see!
I went to the JCrew at the Carousel Mall in Victor this past weekend. They had some of the last summer arrivals out and I was underwhelmed... lots of shorts/perfect tees and mini skirts with prints. And, of course, the obligatory sale section full of tees.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to get a petal vine shell but they looked sooo sad - nothing like on the Internet! The petals just hung flat and bleh against the top. No thanks.
Went to the outlet at Tanger in Riverhead on Saturday. Big waste of a trip. The selection was awful, and I was out of luck finding any basics like Jackies and perfect fit tanks in size XS. One thing that really disturbed me - I know in the past J.Crew has taken retail versions of items and made similar outlet versions - this time around it looked like they had taken a bunch of items from the Summer '09 line, printed them in hideously tacky prints and colors, and filled the outlets with them. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. If you're thinking of going to stock up on basics like I'd planned to, save yourself the trip.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if any of you who have visited the outlets recently have seen last years Pique Strapless dress there or something similar to it? I really wished I had bought the Navy one last year but instead just went with the pink. I have been searching for it the past couple of months.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
The Asheville retail store had a HUGE sale section stuffed with the usual suspects...tees, tees, and more tees. Did see a few pencil skirts in pastiche and water color prints at $39.99. They had a couple of size 0s and i think maybe a 6.
ReplyDeleteI quickly browsed through the J. Crew in Stonestown (San Francisco) and came away with the Frankie mini-dress in Navy. I also noticed that the Stretch Double Serge pencil skirt in black was sale priced at $49.99, but all were size 0. Also, necklaces in the store were $10 off, but I didn't really see any "nice" ones on display. That store isn't always as well stocked as the downtown store, which I guess is good when you don't want to spend too much!
ReplyDeleteChristine--I was at the outlet in Arundel Mills like 3 weeks ago and saw a version of the Pique Strapless. Unfortunately, I saw them in pink, black, and maybe heather gray but I didn't think I saw navy. They didn't have a ton left and they were marked down a percentage...so who knows if they're still there...
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the three-letter code/abbreviation for the color blush stone? I saw on Slastena's blog that the cashmere V-neck cardigan is marked down in-store at Tyson's Corner, and I want to call and ask if they have it on sale in this color, but I'm not sure if the SA will know what color I mean. I'm not sure of the color code. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMDPA, it's probably BST - it's usually the first letter of the first word and the first two letters of the second word. HTH!
ReplyDeleteThank you, silver lining!
ReplyDeleteOT, but if you live in/near Asheville, I noticed that y'all are getting a Lily Pulitzer store in the Biltmore Village shopping area!
