I went by the Walt Whitman Madewell today, and I was a bit underwhelmed. Granted they aren't even open a week yet, but there didn't seem to be as wide a selection as at the Soho store in NYC. That may just be related to the store being brand new and the fact that this time of summer tends to be a bit of a transition time before fall styles are released. Loads of jeans, but only a few tops that weren't t-shirts. There were at least 4 or 5 employees standing around waiting for customers; probably since it was the holiday weekend I was one of only two customers in the store at that time. And this may be really nitpicking, but the lighting was miserable, very fluorescent, cold, made me feel a bit sad to be in there.
