Greetings everyone. No store visit for me this weekend but I did receive my order of the Kate pants in olive, cargo linen pants in olive, long pencil skirt in lilac, and ella sweater blazer in heather sand. Both pairs of pants will go back. The kate pants are pretty good and I think most will like them. They are a touch long in the crotch for my taste. The linen pants were really long in the crotch for me. This is not unusual for crew pants for me so I will stick to other brands for my pants purchases.
ReplyDeleteThe pencil skirt is absolutely lovely! Will get wrinkly because of the cotton but the lining is nice and the skirt is not see through even with the light color. The ella sweater coat is also a winner. The sand color is a nice light neutral with just a hint of blush. Really pretty and perfect for spring!
The olive cargo pants are they the colorblock ones?
DeleteThey're too long in the crotch because J. Crew makes their pants with an 11-12" rise. The Kate pants don't have belt loops so they're going to sag on any body type that doesn't fit into them perfectly. This trend is driving me crazy. I can finally buy mid rise jeans again (9"), because J. Crew and Madewell must have finally gotten the memo and started making them, but they're still making the regular pants and many of their short with the 11-12" rise and I can't wear any of it.

I posted yesterday or Saturday about my sale orders. Deciding if I should return the alfie topcoat in vintage plaid. The print is fun though I find it runs a lot looser than the Dalton topcoat. My biggest concern is that it’s so lightweight and minimal wool—mostly poly and acrylic. When would it be able to be worn, really just very mild days and I feel the pattern is a bit wintry for that. I’m going to try it with some lighter colored clothes and see if it feels out of place.

ReplyDeleteSale section in my store was updated with a lot of the new sweaters, and much of the winter stuff was gone.
Still don’t love the overall color palette but I saw a cupro blazer and pants in Black and Tan that looked great for any event. Kind of retro shaped. With strappy sandals, a clutch and a statement necklace could be worn anywhere. I have no such events so I didn’t even try it but I should because it’s the type of fabric that can be dressed up or down and doesn’t look like a work suit specifically.
I had heard the same thing about final sale items and store returns. I was overly surprised when the SA said they couldn't return my coat that I had dragged through the door. I promptly contacted online for the return but definitely was not happy. Change is coming...
DeleteI really try to only buy things I really want. I mentioned to the Assoc that it seemed we’d now need to order items before they hit sale to try and then return, they said that’s what most people do.
DeleteI had a couple of orders delivered to the store for pick up. I then tried on before I left the store with them. I had a bad fit problem with a pair of pants and they returned final sale. I wonder if this would be a better way if you were uncertain about the fit but it only works if you live close to a store.
