  1. I was without a car yesterday and wore my old black nubuck Nordic boots to walk about four miles in the cold and light rain. I wore wool blend socks just for an extra layer, but usually don’t. My feel stayed warm and didn’t hurt at all, and I didn’t slip once.
I can never regret buying another pair and wish I got the black leather a few weeks ago.

    1. Do you know if you can wear the leather ones in light rain?

    2. I don’t know specifically but they have a thick rubber sole. If you’re concerned you could always spray the leather. I’ve worn all of my Nordic boots and crepe sole boots in cold/wet weather. I haven’t sprayed mine yet but intend to get some suede spray.

  2. All of the good reviews of the Nordic boots and the amazing deals have given me FOMO, even though I live in a sub-tropical climate. I ordered the lightweight leather Nordic boots (BB383), thinking I could wear them as regular boots since they don’t have a sherpa lining. I received them earlier this week and they are very nice except for one thing: the box contained one size 9 boot and one size 8 boot. Since my feet are both size 9, they’ll have to go back. Now they’re sold out and I don’t know if I want them bad enough to stalk popbacks.

    1. Oh no, Jeanne, that’s so annoying! That’s an additional issue with final sale and no returns at the end of a season. You never know if you’re going to get a floor sample or a worn return, or some other nonsense.

I agree w Suz and others and if you can try again and get a popback, Nordic boots are totally worth it. I just got back from the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT, and I was stopped at least 4 times on the street and asked about my boots. I was kind of embarrassed to say they were from J Crew because I think everyone was expecting them to be from Gorsuch or some other high-end Vail boutique!
