Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    1. Hello Lynn and everyone, thank you for all your insights! I’m sorry that you haven’t been enjoying J.Crew offerings as much recently, Lynn. What alternative brands do you recommend, in terms of high quality and similar style?

I just noticed a price reduction on an item I purchased last week, so I only have a few days to request a price adjustment. So can anyone recommend and list the contact information of a stylist or customer service representative who would price adjust?

I’m not really sure of the stylists’ schedule, etc. so it can be difficult to get through to one who will price adjust in time.

      Gratefully,
      Elizabeth

    2. @Elizabeth, Hello Elizabeth apologies for not having responded earlier. I haven’t been on JCA since early yesterday. Call the regular number and hit stylist, mine is not in for a week now otherwise I would have you call her directly. The others should be able to help adjust the price. Explain why. Hopefully they will accommodate you. Norma should be in she’s great, and helps. If this doesn’t work call CS and try there. Evening is best. They’re all pretty helpful. Stylists work the lines from 8am until 7 pm or so. It’s a shame Dana isn’t there to assist. There is a female name Andrea in CS who is excellent and she works nights. During day time there’s Elizabeth. Both answer from San Antonio and are extremely helpful. As for clothing, I’ve purchasing Ralph Lauren, Purple Collection, Lauren Ralph Lauren and even Polo . Depends on what tickles my fancy. I tend to purchase more classic pieces overall. I keep them forever and they never go out of style. I do Chanel, Max Mara, some Gucci. I travel a lot for business and happen to have my own company so again I go for the classics. A uniform look as I call it. I can go from day to evening wearing the same. There’s a reason for this. To be honest, I am not the average consumer thus the more pricey pieces. I was a big consumer on the JCrew side and always felt great wearing the vintage JCrew outfits for work or play. Now it’s a disaster unfortunately. I also purchase alot of off brands but those I purchase when I’m home in Europe and get some great deals. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful but I’m sure you are quite capable of weeding out nice things overall. One last thing, I rarely purchase any JCrew included at full price unless it’s a true love and I want to wear it immediately. Even with high end items nothing less than 40% off. I’ve even negotiated with Nordstrom and Saks at times. Bottom line is there are other brands out there one just has to look around. It is more difficult these days because even with some items that are the same price or a little more expensive they’re skimping on quality and I’m not purchasing Made In China anymore. There are plenty of JCA’s here that can be far more helpful than myself and have excellent taste and are far more familiar with US brands. Good luck please post if you received your priced adjustment. If not I will call Dana when she returns.

    3. Hello Elizabeth, I've always loved J Crew prints, so I purchase La DoubleJ because I really like their prints too. I wear the silk swing dresses to work. They also have some casual options that I like to wear on the weekend and on vacation. Net A Porter is another retailer; I've purchased La DoubleJ there on sale too. Net A Porter end-of-season sales are very good (Check out Matchesfashion too). I like to mix in leather pieces; I've been successful w/Fil de Vie, Rag and Bone, Salvatore Ferragamo and Doda Bar On. All purchases were end of season at least 65% off retail, some as much as 80%. Gucci has outlets in the US, so for clothing, I visit the outlets. Pricing is usually 50 - 60% off retail (San Marcos Outlet). Neiman's Last Call Outlets (at least in TX) also carry Gucci. I've purchased items at 80 - 90% off retail. They were not damaged; end-of-season clearance. For business meetings and interviews, I wear a St. John "uniform;" Santana knit is my go to. I've bought most of my pieces at consignment stores. I live near Dallas, so there are a handful of high-end consignment shops and the selection is very good and the prices are very reasonable. I also wear Demylee, Vince and Eileen Fisher because the brands tend to have a good selection of natural fiber choices year round. If you're on IG, you might want to follow @sartorial choices; she's not an influencer and has a really good sense of style. I've been introduced to lots of brands (e.g. La DoubleJ) that I didn't shop previously. Good luck!

    4. @Lynn: Exactly....No more made in China! That sure helps with editing clothing brands. J.Crew is not for me right now--fabric, fit, overall design and colors, and certainly quality. I have more than enough right now and am on another shopping fast. Not even looking at stuff anywhere at this time, but I will look at J.Crew's new arrivals out of curiosity. I do not expect to be tempted.

@Elizabeth: Like My Goddy, I also love Net a Porter and Matches for good finds. Bergdorf-Goodman has also been good, especially for quality shoes. I've sold and shopped The Real Real as well and have been pleased with the service on both ends.

  2. Can’t believe this new promo, but I know from previous years nothing should surprise me anymore. Maybe in April the coats that were $150 in late Dec which are $300 now will randomly show up at $50.

    1. It has happened before! Thinking they may do a blowout sale President's Weekend.

    2. Weird that this current promo is so long and it ends the week before Presidents’ Day.

    3. I’m OK with it since I need absolutely nothing. I bought an entire drawer full of new sweats last month, plus several jeans and tees. Since that’s all I ever wear, I’m good.

    4. I agree. I guess I have issues. 😆

    5. Me too. I'm glad someone else said it so I don't feel so bad! I am never the person to say that I have too many shoes but I just have to say it...I bought too many pairs of shoes during the 50% and 60% promos.

    6. But I have to admit that I love every pair. Now the cashmere leggings are a totally different story. Sadly, NO love at all

  3. Did the puff-sleeve Liberty mini dress really sell out? Seems like it was there in the whole size range and then ... it's gone! Ya snooze, ya lose I guess.

  4. We have to stop by the B&M to get a security tag removed from the (very nice) Wallace & Barnes zip up twill shirt/jacket I ordered for my husband. I arrived so fast, I think it shipped from a very nearby store and they forgot to take off the tag.

  5. So there is kind of a cute double denim look posted on Instagram but seriously the fit of the clothes is such a turn off! I don’t care what size the model is but put her in clothes that fit. These pants are way too tight. What the hell are they thinking?

    1. I’m not sure if you are referring to my comment or the post I mention. 😬
But I just think clothes that look nice are more likely to sell. And if they don’t fit perfectly better off having them shown loose so the shape is visible. Not so tight they look like the seams will pop.

    2. It was totally a reference to the outfit Suz =p. My bad! I should've been clearer.
It's a sad outfit. It's sadder when I think back to the polished offerings J.Crew used to sling.

  6. I’m not sure if this Liberty print is coming to the woman’s section, but take a look at the Boys' cotton tie in Liberty® Meadow Song print Item BE686. What a pretty floral!

    1. I like that too! I'm hoping it comes out in something I'd wear.

    2. I think the jumpsuit featured at the end of the lookbook is in the Liberty® Meadow Song print!

    3. I think you are right Ash. Good eye! I think the jumpsuit looks a bit like Pjs thought. I’m hoping for a shirt or cute top!
