This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!

I will visit, hopefully today, to return the cropped cashmere tank. As much as it pains me, they are ever so slightly too cropped to justify the $80 price tag, for me.
ReplyDeleteSide note - has anyone tried the d-ring flannel pant, BA249? They're online only so can't hope to see them in store.
I’m tempted to get those pants in black and the Sherpa mules.
DeleteI want to measure my other pleated pants to see what the inseam is. 26.5 regular length might be a little more cropped than I want.
Considering returning the Baird McNutt linen short sleeve shirt I just received even it’s final sale. I went down a size and it is still ludicrously large on me. I went in knowing it’s a loose fit but I look like I’m wearing someone else’s shirt. I probably could have sized down two sizes and it would still be a loose fit.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if the SMPGFGFGB extra 15% code can be used more than once?
ReplyDeleteYes, you can use it over and over again.

ReplyDeleteHi all, next launch is on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThanks @Lynn ! #fingerscrossed it’s a good one
ReplyDeleteI had visited my store yesterday for returns. Sale section was small and same old. Those cotton/cashmere pocket sweaters, some summery stuff. There were a few things I was hoping to see in store but they didn’t have.
ReplyDeleteOh, they did have a striped cable knit cotton cashmere sweater which I had been contemplating getting. I thought it was an offwhite and black but the off white is really more of a flax color. I’m so glad I didn’t get it because that doesn’t work for my complexion at all. There are a few sweaters which only come in muddy tans and similar, otherwise I’d be looking.
I received the Marie tab loafers in velvet
ReplyDelete(Item BD334) and they're very nice, TTS. I bought them in black. They should be great for the holidays.
Great, thanks Lynn! I've been buying way too much lately from J. Crew and Madewell. I'm keeping more than I have in recent years, so they must be doing something right.
ReplyDeleteI purchased the following for my friend Sommerset blazer in grey plaid Italian wool
ReplyDeleteItem BA469, very nice blazer, tts, icy orchid interior trim and extremely nice lightweight wool. Arrived wrapped and folded nicely with a hanger. Keeper. Relaxed trench coat in cotton-canvas Item BA 529. Absolutely beautiful fabric, well made and beautiful interior. This runs very large. She has the small but will have to go down at least one size for it to be a balanced relaxed fit. Relaxed-fit collarless end-on-end cotton tunic shirt
Item BB247, tts, very nice fabric and very well made. She wore this with a pair of white Marti pants and received quite a few compliments. Looks very chic and wore Hermes loafers. She looked fabulous in the photos she sent to me. Black Daphne coat was a miss as the sleeves were too short on her. Factory has a nice Boy flannel gingham check shirt in Neon Fuschia. Fabric is surprisingly nice. She sized up one in case of shrinkage. This color is slightly darker than the Neon Fuschia from years past but still pretty. Overall impressed with these few items. She’s happy especially considering what she paid for these items. Again, the raincoat is a standout even without a tie belt. I may order another one for myself.
Thanks for the update Lynn! I'm ready to see holiday. Would like to find a few items for upcoming events with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteI think we’re all ready to see the holiday line for sure. I’m hoping to see some embellished items and sequins. I’m wondering if there might be another Flash Sale today given that my stylist said they have so much inventory left to sell and won’t have room for the new items. Have a nice day all!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I have been hesitating because of final sale and the fact that there is a full size run of a few things. I was going to buy the ivory sherpa mules which sold out in my size but truthfully I’d really only wear them as slippers so I’m not too disappointed.
ReplyDeleteMinor update on launch for the 2nd. There may be some holiday items however the mid- November launch on the 16th will be the largest, Holiday/Winter. Keeping fingers crossed. This came from the stylist.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn. Here's hoping for some classic tailored items in cheerful colors. At least that's my wish.
DeleteMea culpa.
ReplyDeleteI tried to wear the flannel tie waist pants and couldn’t deal with the drawstring. I tried to swap it out for a thinner black lace and the width of the white string meant I’d have to do more than just attach the black to the white and pull it through.
Ultimately I decided it wasn’t worth the effort to make them work.
I also decided against the cotton cashmere joggers. I might regret that over the winter when I’m sitting in my house cold but I’d sooner have another set of the university Terry for loungewear.
@ Suz: Can you return them, or are they final sale?
Delete@Suz, I will let you know what my tailor does with my pants. What a shame they’re such nice pants. Sorry they didn’t work out.
DeleteMmeJacqueline, They were final sale but my store told me awhile ago they would take things back for sizing issues. Since this was the smallest size they allowed the return.
DeleteI haven’t tried it too often because who knows if all the associates are trained the same and the policy can change at any time…which is a shame because I would try a lot more if it wasn’t final sale and maybe find a few more winners.
Lynn, thank you. I don’t think it’s a complicated swap but I didn’t like how the draw string was laying. I realized if it was bothering me I’d never wear them and I should return them within the 30 days before it’s too late.
That's nice that your store will accommodate that for you.
DeleteIt seems to me that the drawstrings on those pants should have been the same color as the pants. Not sure if that would have made a difference. I really want to see more tailored pants without these "expansion" options.
I think @WFF and others will appreciate the copywriter from space can’t even get the spelling correct on $228 pants.
ReplyDelete“Bi-strech wool tapered pant in Black Watch tartan…”
I also wish that the copywriter would begin the list of sizes with 00 rather than 0. I guess s/he thinks 00 is larger than 0.
DeleteAgreed, that bugs me too.
DeleteHappy Halloween! I stopped in my store today to return the Liberty shirt and Juliette cardigan from my last order. I saw a new button down in store that I haven’t seen online. The print was a blurred out floral in reds, yellows, and greens. I liked the print but the blurred aspect of it gave me a headache. Almost like it was too blurry.
ReplyDeletehello ladies, I am looking at buying Akris wool pants from real real. I have credit from selling a few bags. Wondering if anyone has tried this brand. Any advice on sizing. I typically am size 2 in Jcrew, waist 26-27" Hips 37-38", HT 5.7" I have gained a couple inches. TIA.
ReplyDeleteThey run TTS. I have a pair from a from years ago. You could always go the their virtual assistant and find your exact measurements or call CS if in doubt. Hope this helps
DeleteThank you Lynn. I will try that.
DeleteSomehow this strategist article showed up in my feed awhile ago and I had to share. Ironically the last time my middle daughter was home she was wearing a pair of classic wrangler jeans and they looked AMAZING on her. She thrifted hers but I admit I am tempted by these $25 men’s polyester pants.
ReplyDeletehttps://nymag.com/strategist/article/these-cheap-mens-dress-pants-are-suprisingly-stylish.html
The amazon reviews for those pants made me lol.
DeleteI don't care if they're $25 or fit like a dream... I am not wearing the "ugliest uniform pants" or "paper pants."
That said, there's a reason why Wrangler, Lee and Levi's come back every couple of years. My aunt (RIP) used to come visit us in NYC from London every few years and she always made it a point to go to the Levi's outlet at Woodbury Commons to load on on jeans for my uncle (also RIP) because he refused to wear anything but Levi's jeans, and they're expensive in the UK.
I know it’s so funny.
DeleteI’d really need to see them in person. I mean prime and all…but still.
I still miss a pair of old ripped levis that I got from my sister who got them from a friend. They were perfection. We were going out to dinner in the city one night and she made me take them off and I never saw them again (this was about twenty years ago and I still miss them…). They were the type of bootcut you can’t find anymore, straight but not tight to the knee and then wider. Everything boot cut or crop flare these days is too tight on the thigh for me. That’s the only reason I would try these or the wrangler jeans like my daughter has.
