J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

   This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I placed an order on 4/27 for three sizes of the same NB sneaker. Reviews were all over the place. They were backordered until 7/12. Checked yesterday and the order now says "waitlisted". Went back into the product page and saw one of my three sizes was available so ordered. It shipped from VA within hours and is in NJ, due to be delivered Thursday. I don't understand, don't they have a list of pre-orders before just selling stock?

    1. Hi Cheritheberry, that’s very weird. My experience has always been that preorders get fulfilled as stock arrives, before it shows up online. Maybe a fluke? Hopefully they aren’t changing things.
      I do know that a swimsuit I had preordered has shipped although the ship date still says June online. So they must have fulfilled preorders first.

    2. I’m glad you got your swimsuit before summer! I am also glad I got the sneakers, because they were less dreamy in person and now I can move on.

  2. I received the wide leg white linen pants. They're well made, but the wideness of the legs gives 5'4" me pause. They look like clown pants and switching to petite won't help because the legs will be too short. I'm trying to rationalize that this is just a new silhouette and my eye needs to get used to it. Also, I badly need white pants and don't like capris or cropped styles. Someone who's taller would definitely look great in these.

    1. Thanks for the review. What about the Martie pant, Item B8521?

    2. I've never tried the Marties. I know a lot of people like them and they're cotton which is a plus in Carolina humidity. Something about the lack of a front zipper and the tight fit makes me feel like they'd feel too casual for work. I've been waiting to see a rollout with lots of things I want to try. Charlotte, now my closest store, is a three hour round trip in horrible traffic, so I need more of an incentive to make the trip than this slow drip of, "maybe I can make one or two things work" each rollout.

  3. Relaxed fit linen crew neck sweater in light mint. I was so excited to see more linen pieces in the new arrivals and the pale, cool green color is really lovely. It’s a bit oversized which I expected, but the SLEEVES! I wore it yesterday and the garment stretched out two sizes by noon - the sleeves were practically dragging on the ground. You can’t roll them because of the bell shape. I really like it but it borders on sloppy w the stretching issue.

    1. Thanks for the review. I liked those sweaters too, but not if the sleeves reach my knees.

  4. Quick question: does madewell honor returns with a receipt after 30 days?
