"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. All of the Liberty Phoebe items I ordered on March 23 have had their estimated ship dates pushed back multiple times, now the backorder is estimated at 5/19. Every time they change it they ask me to call to confirm I still want the item which just adds to the inconvenience. Has anyone actually received any clothing in this print or seen it in stores?

    1. So annoying. I haven’t seen this print in store. My store was carrying all the Mauvey floral
pieces. The one review for the Liberty cottage dress isn’t very promising.

    2. Just an explainer about the shipping delays... it's not unique to JCrew. US retailers all over the country have delays because their stock is stuck on big container ships. On the west coast, the port is very backed up with lots of ships stuck at anchorage unable to berth because the ports just can't process the ships in time and there's not enough truckers to pick up cargo to take to warehouses. And all throughout the country there is a major shortage of truck drivers and trucks in general.

  2. No Canadian promo....its been forever since we had one.

    1. Yes, it’s crazy! They made a big deal about the new shipping and there is zero benefit that I see. No promo since mid March, frustrating.

  3. Not a vent but a relief: I went into the office for the first time since March 2020 this week, so I had to unearth my office wear. In early 2020 I bought a bunch of work appropriate sheath dresses from JC and never got to wear them. Late last year I tried them on and to my horror they were too small because of quarantine weight gain. Since then I'd been watching my food intake and exercising (a tiny bit), and this week I tried on the dresses again and phew! They fit! I was worried I'd have to rebuy an entire wardrobe one size up to go back to the office this summer.

    1. @eeps, good for you! I’m trying to be better myself, I’m sure that was a great feeling.

    2. Yeah, nice going. I’m trying to be better at eating too.

    3. Thanks everyone! Watching my caloric intake is not fun but being able to zip up the dresses was worth it!
