JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Suz, thanks for passing on the suggestion for a rain capsule. It seems so obvious, but even though I live in a swamp, I have insufficient rain gear. No wonder I hate going out in the rain! Here’s what I pulled together from bins and closets: J.Crew waxed barn jacket in leopard (AQ249), J.Crew icon trench (old version, 49185), a pair of LLBean wellies rain boots in mustard yellow. I have since added a pair of brown Sperry duck shoes and a pair of bronze waterproof Birkenstocks, but I think I still need a rain hat and a long, totally waterproof coat or poncho for heavy rain. It’s amazing that I buy every shiny thing I see, but still don’t have what I need for real life.

    1. I could def use a rain hat too! If you find a good one let me know. I wear a random baseball cap or hood usually.

Being dressed for it really does make having to go out in the rain much more pleasant.
