This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
Happy Valentine’s Day, JCAs. Wishing everyone a relaxing Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI know I’m stating the obvious but I’m surprised that there hasn’t been a better promo this weekend. Prices on some things are much higher and there is still summer merch in the sale section.
Not that ordering anything would make much of a difference, shipping takes two weeks it seems from Banana or Crew for me.
I’m waiting for a few banana and Nordstrom rack orders. Rack has some Everlane cashmere raglan Mocknecks ($60) so I ordered a few colors I think would look nice with the trim on the jcrew jacquard pants. I had previously tried this style and it’s fitted so I sized up to a medium. They haven’t shipped yet so may get canceled.
Ordered these pants from Banana last week. Really like the thicker stretchy material. Like a matte crepe but with a lot of stretch and flowy, but structured enough with the real zipper closure, not pull on. I tried two sizes and went with the larger one for more room on the thighs. (Pretty much dead on accurate with the size guide). They’re a little loose so I might take in the waist but I like the look better.

@Suz Has, those pants look nice. I wear the Logan trousers for work and like some of the other BR pants. I hope that your orders arrive soon and work out.
DeleteUntil the sequin pants I hadn’t tried anything from banana in ages. The other style pants I tried this time were not great.
DeleteThe shipping issue is totally a “first world” problem although a neighbor talking about receiving all holiday cards sliced open did not think that highly of the USPS. I actually feel worse for the retailers, although I ordered jeans from a small shop in GA and got them faster than my Banana and Rack orders so maybe the issue is more with the larger corporations.
I’ve often struck out at BR in the past. I don’t buy much from them but I’ve really liked the thicker pants for work.
DeleteThat’s terrible about the Mail. I complain about Canada Post for slowness but usps is far worse.
Someone I know purchased a $$$$$ designer bag and returned it via USPS. Someone between the post office and the store receiving it opened the package and replaced the bag with dirty clothes. The merchant (a high end dept store) is refusing to credit the return. How crazy is that???
DeleteThat’s very scary! In the past I would try to return expensive items in person but sometimes it’s not possible and with the pandemic a lot of people don’t have a choice. That’s a nightmare, I feel so sorry for her.
DeleteHappy Valentine’s Day @ SuzHas and jcas! Hope everyone is having a nice day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentines to you too.
DeleteIt's cold & grey but I fine day to stay cozy indoors.
I'm wearing bright red suede driving mocs from last year (or the year before).
@pbanos, Your shoes sound like a lovely choice for Valentine’s Day! Luckily it’s sunny but freezing here. Sadly I’m just in sweats, we took the boys for a walk on trails and I’m not motivated to change lol. I hope that you have a nice cozy evening.
DeleteI’m wearing little pink socks from Madewell with hearts on them. That’s about as festive as I’ve gotten today!
DeletePBanos I always wanted those Mocs!
Delete@Suz Has, that is perfectly festive!
Delete@Suz Has, mine have never been outdoors, I think that would have ruined them quickly. I wear them as house shoes, they're so soft. Guess I can wear them again tomorrow with blue jeans and a white top to go red/white/blue.
Delete@jan, good for you getting outside today! I ran but not on trails as they are deep in snow. Soon to be ice, I guess.
@pbanos, the trails here are full of snow which my little guys love but they are def harder for walking.
DeleteI have the suede peony driving Mocs, is that the same as your red ones? I only wore them twice because the back gave me blisters, were yours comfy right away?
@jan yes! I tried my usual and 1/2 size up, and went with the smaller pair as the larger gapped too much on the sides. I was afraid they would be snug in the front, but they turned out perfect. Sorry they didn't work for you, foot shape varies so much.
DeleteThank you for your input, very true, that must be it. This spring I’ll try to put one of those cushion type pads at the top of the heel to see if that helps. The blisters on my heel happened just from walking a very short distance so I was turned off of wearing them. Glad to hear that you love them.
