So the package I mentioned in the vent thread did show up despite losing tracking after a few days of touring the garden state. It was a gingham button down shirt. I had tried on a few of the gingham button down shirts and this last one was by far my favorite (I'm totally wearing it now). So here's my breakdown:
ReplyDeleteSlim-fit stretch cotton poplin shirt in gingham (Item AW242) my "normal" size 4. Liked the fit but not the material
Classic-fit shirt in crinkle gingham (Item AW251) size 2. Overall too big. Even sizing down, I felt it overwhelmed me. But I much preferred the material on this one.
And the keeper: Classic-fit boy shirt in crinkle gingham (Item C6086) Size 2. I guess this is the "old" version because it's on sale and looks like it's being replaced by the other one. For whatever reason, even though this is a little big, I feel like it has the right baggy but not overwhelming fit. Material is light and airy and perfect for layering now or wearing alone later in warmer weather. Unfortunately, I can't do a side-by-side with the other version, but I can only say it must just be a little slimmer in the body. No darts. Some subtle differences between the two like the buttons on the collar and chest pocket. But this one totally works for me.
@Miss JR glad your missing package showed up and contained a winner. I recall that older version of the gingham shirt being popular.
DeleteI sent several pairs of the High-rise wide-leg trouser in leopard
ReplyDeleteItem AQ617 as Valentines. At 9.99 not much more costly than a greeting card and healthier than candy. If they ship as quickly as the pair I ordered they may make it on time. These pants are nicer than the photo. I wouldn't really call them wide leg, as they actually taper a bit to the ankle. They are roomy in the hip and thigh (perfect for me) in my usual 4, and with the loose fit are very comfortable. They are poly, but feel pretty nice, fully lined, pockets, belt loops and washable. I wore yesterday with a black turtleneck sweater tucked in and block heel boots. But I could see wearing with sneakers and a t-shirt when it's warmer.
My package that went into hiding in Kearny arrived too. It was a pair of wide leg sequin pants from Banana that @Suz Has mentioned. In my usual S they are a loose fit, but I wouldn't size down for me because this way they drop a little lower on my hips and that adds much needed length. They are good for me with flats or a low heel.
What a fun idea, to send pants!
DeleteYes, five women in my life will have the same pants! But we don't live close together, so no awkward twin outfits.
DeleteAnybody try the BR scuba stuff yet? There’s a pant/sweatshirt set but the pants alone seem like a good work option for my semi casual work environment.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the JCrew High-rise wide-leg trouser in leopard item AQ617. After reading everyone’s positive comments about these pants I couldn’t resist especially for $9.99
ReplyDeleteNow I can’t wait for them to arrive!
