J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

  This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Reposting here since blog has updated: This may be old news but whowhatwear has posted a closet tour with Jenna Lyons on their Instagram. Worth a look at some of her beautiful pieces if you have a minute.

    1. I saw that yesterday. She’s adorable. I wish there were more pics of the space. It seems like it’s all just out in her room?

    2. That was so much fun to watch! I really like how she keeps things because of memories. Looking at her closet makes me feel less guilty about mine (LOL).

  2. So for those following along with the birthday rewards saga, my store had nothing so rather than lose the rewards (even though others get them for a second month I swear my account was flagged and I’m persona-non-grata) I just ordered the *ok* crochet trimmed pants and two other filler pieces without using the CARDLOVE (it killed me) and paid $3. I will place separate orders for whatever and use the $10 joy cards I have and then I will see...
    I really don’t need to be loyal under the current circumstances, but like many others here I just don’t know where else to shop.
    Love Everlane but they are missing those little extras I’ve always loved from crew, the scarves, colorful coats, etc

    2. Not an ideal outcome, but at least you have a resolution. Dealing with J Crew can be frustrating at times, but I haven't identified a replacement option that's suitable for my preferences and price point. Fortunately, the vast majority of my experiences outweigh the crappy ones, so I try to remember that too. Good luck with your $10 joy cards!

    3. Agreed, except this time it became personal. I can deal with the frustration about the clothes but CS has always been super accommodating. I stopped asking for price adjustments which I must say, really cut back my spending. I didn’t like that policy but it made sense in some ways. This, to me makes no sense because instead of spending $100 or so and getting $25 off, I’m spending $28 and getting $25 off. It’s all clearance that is going to be sold for pennies on the dollar anyway. Penny wise and pound foolish, IMO.

    4. Yep, agreed. I had a former colleague who said “we’re spending dollars to save pennies.”

  3. At least JCrew & Madewell are still offering $25 birthday rewards. Banana Republic gave me a measly $10 towards my birthday which the website simply wouldn't accept. When I called customer service they claimed they could only deduct $8 & change (!?!) towards my Gap order.

    1. That’s ridiculous. I haven’t really shopped Gap/banana in ages and I think they sent me 25 percent off a full price item. 😆 thanks but no thanks.

      Everlane didn’t send me anything either, but I figure they’re just not into the coupon code game and it is what it is...they also don’t have nearly as many styles as jcrew.

  4. I rarely shop at the Gap family too. Occasionally, I pick up the Gap's cotton bikinis and bralettes (like once a year with rewards).

    Another reason to appreciate JC is the return processing time frame - I returned a dress by mail in mid-September. That took over a month to process and then the refund took another month (Oct/Nov), following which I requested a check from my BRVisa card towards the credit which I have not yet received. Synchrony bank (which manages the Gap cards) doesn't have an electronic deposit option and their checks take 7-15 business days ... which is turning out to be over 3 weeks. I had to follow up and now they are redoing the check which is going to take another 3+ weeks 😑
