Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. big yawn on today's 29% off promo. Why would I buy the overpriced sale items that were 35% off yesterday at 29% off today? I was kind of anticipating a big 40 or 50% off sale today. Guess I should have bit when it was 50% off sale a few weeks ago but I was worried they would go to 60% on the last day as they have in the past. lol. No PA policy and 30 day return window making it so easy to not buy.

    1. Agree with you; it is a seriously lame promo.

    3. Who thinks of these things? 29 percent off?
I was tempted by the cotton textures sweater that’s $29 but I haven’t paid attention and I’m sure it was probably less previously. Get rid of the winter stuff already...over 2500 items in sale section that are more expensive than a month ago is crazy.

    4. I did order the cable cotton sweater, this is the best price I've seen.

    5. Seriously who thinks of 29 when they think of leap year? It's 4... as in 40%!

    6. Well, I decided to try the cotton cable sweater in white and black. Didn’t use my rewards on it just in case but a good cotton sweater is so hard to come by and mock neck even more so!

  2. Agreed with sentiments re: underwhelming sale. I'll be near the mall this afternoon after an appointment so planning on stopping in to return the "paperbag" waist jeans, the button fly dark wash jeans as well as the stovepipe jeans in atlantic wash.

Due to the 99% cotton 1% elastane mix I tried the stovepipe jeans in a size up from my usual size in a 30. The rise on them is crazy high, I think almost 12 inches. They were snug in the belly (and the rise just accentuated the "pooch" look and oddly loose in the leg. They're also a 29" inseam so not ankle and just looked odd at full length. I tried a full cuff and they're not a love so they're going back. They're a nice light wash but the fit is off. I compared them to the light wash vintage crop jeans I have from a few years ago and wear all the time and there's no comparison. If they're not perfect, they go back.

I have an Everlane credit right now so I might try their cheeky straight, I had tried the 90s cheeky and didn't like them but may try the other ones.

The Madewell mid-rise straight also came and I also did a 30 in those and I think they're too big. Reordered a 29 - the waist is loose, hip is snug and the legs are too loose even for a straight leg. Sigh! All this to say I will be stopping by the store this weekend briefly, will report back if in store is any different sale wise.

    1. Thanks for reporting on the stovepipe jeans. The rise was my concern from the photos. I just returned a pair of cute white jeans to Eddie Bauer for the same reason. They were only $15 and the straight legs were just what I wanted, but the super-high rise just accentuated my less than flat stomach. I guess I’ll keep looking for a dark straight-leg style.

    2. Appreciate the stovepipe jeans review. The 12 inch rise is a pass for me, too. I'll keep looking.

    3. Thanks for the jeans reviews. I was thinking about trying the Madewell mid-rise straight, but maybe I won't, sounds like the fit is off on those too.

    4. Anne, if you’re ordering from Everlane they also have a new Super Straight that i tried. The ankle is a little wider than the cheeky straight. I think they have a light wash but I’ll check. I was torn between the Cheeky and the super straight.

    5. Suz - thanks, I have a full cart :) Also taking the plunge and trying a few Agolde jeans from Nordstrom as they seem to be all over IG in terms of recommendations.

cate - I'll report back on the new size of the Madewell jeans but they might just be a pass. Bummer.

I did stop in for returns - store was 30% off full price items, huge sale section but no additional % off which as others have said is ridiculous when it's almost March. I returned my items and left.

    6. I was perusing Everlane this morning and was shocked to see a black leather pant I had not seen previously. Belt loops, high waisted, back pockets, straight leg...$250! There are only nine reviews so maybe they released to brand ambassadors or something but I had to grab a pair.

  3. Rather than buy the coated linen trench that can't go out in the rain (!), I just scored one of the original 2014 coated linen rain jackets from Thredup and need care advice from those who have owned this style. I like it a lot, but it arrived SUPER wrinkled (enough so that I wouldn't want to wear it as is) and can't be ironed. The instructions simply read "Dry clean only, inside out, low heat" but I'm hesitant to attempt a dry cleaning when I might otherwise want to return it. I figure I'll turn it inside out and give it a go with my hand steamer, but--any other advice?

    1. I have a refresh / wrinkle remover/steam? setting on my dryer. I would be tempted to try it for a item like this. but when in doubt I would take it to the dry cleaners.

    2. Would it be fair to ask the seller to pay for the dry cleaning? It shouldn't have been sent to you in that condition.

    3. What is the style number? I don’t remember this and it doesn’t come up in google...

  4. OT but I’m hoping someone can help me here. I’ve had my eye on some cute Kate Spade sneakers on Poshmark. I’m a consistent 9.5 in J.Crew shoes. Can anyone comment on the fit of KS shoes?

    1. Hi shopgrrrl. I own a ton of KS shoes and I’m always my normal size 10. In fact I bought the glitter flats Black Friday on final sale (50% off which is unheard of for the brand) and they fit perfectly. Risky but I know Ks better than any other brand. Your regular shoe size should be good.

  5. Just noticed that they added CARDLOVE (extra 20%), which can stack with the 29% off. Decided to go ahead and try the Two-strap kitten heel sandals in patent leather.

    1. Wow, I just reordered the sweaters I ordered that haven’t shipped yet. I wonder if I can cancel the first order. Probably not...
