This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.
If
you have recently experienced a
frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe
you might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Please
feel free to share your story on almost
any topic— including poor experiences with
purchases & orders, promotions/ offers,
in-store visits, transactions with store
associates, etc.
Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on the new arrivals! I like a lot but only the chartreuse pleated midi is a must have. That will fill a nice hole in my closet!
ReplyDeleteI really want to go see new arrivals but the j crew we always go to in Naples (where I am this week) closed a couple of years ago. My hubby and I always hit up that mall on a date while we are here because it has my favorite stores: anthro, kate spade, and j crew. The next closest j crew is almost an hour away! I’ll probably swing by my local store when I’m back in town this weekend.
Liz, there's a little bit of chatter over on the review thread about the new arrivals if you're not subscribed to yesterday's thread :) general consensus is positive!
Deletelooks like ruffles are still a thing..
DeletePosting this up early... I decided to sell my Long Sleeve SZ Blockprints Rash Guard (Item L9072) Size Small. NWT. Asking $60 (includes shipping) jselnick (at) gmail (dot) com

I'm so disappointed in J. Crew's pants. There are slim pickings for anything less than an 11" rise. I don't want low rise, I just want pants that fit, which for me is mid rise (9"). Most high rises slump down to my natural waist and look ill-fitting with fabric bunched at my mid-section, and if they stay up then it makes me look and feel fat. I don't want to look like I have a giant square pelvis. Maybe I'm not thin enough to wear this trend, but they could offer me an alternative. I'm not really that difficult to fit, though (size 8-10). They used to do it perfectly. Then they threw all care about fit out the window to chase the trends. Blah.
ReplyDeleteI like a a couple of things: Three-quarter sleeve jacket in matelassé and Button-front jacket in watercolor begonias print. SHOPNOW works when I am in my cart but won't work after I sign in... Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why J. Crew doesn't ship stuff out faster. I've placed a few orders in the last week with different online retailers. I've already received a few (they weren't clothing, but still), and a non-J. Crew clothing order I placed today has already shipped. No status yet from my J. Crew order. I might get a shipping email in a week or so, or they might not send me one. Most other retailers are so much faster. I honestly think this is one reason they're having trouble competing. People like to get their stuff fast and some retailers are making that possible. If I want something from J. Crew by a certain date, I need to allow 3 weeks just to be safe and even then you never know.
ReplyDeleteI should add that a Madewell order was shipped promptly, with good email notification status. Because I'm an icon status with them, I usually get free overnight shipping. It doesn't always work out, but for some reason their fulfillment process seems so much better than J. Crew's.
DeleteVent. I received my Nordic boots in natural. Open the box, excited to try them on. I untie the laces on one and the tongue falls out of the shoe. It was very obviously torn off and stuck back in to make them look normal. They can’t even be worn.
ReplyDeleteI did DM immediately and hope they will credit me!
Side note, they’re not as plush as the black version I have from last year. The sole feels a little stiffer.
I will report back...
CS is so inefficient. It’s not worth the aggravation.
DeleteFirst email received. Giving me a credit of $25 less than I paid. Shipping fees taken out of refund as well as my rewards used on the order. Hello, I am happy to use my rewards on products that arrive in wearable condition. This is not at all wearable. It’s not my fault that no care is taken to inspect items before they’re shipped.
DeleteI’m LIVID. I shouldn’t have to beg to get my money back when the company can’t deliver a quality product. They suck.
DeleteLast year my Nordic boots had a grommet out. They sent a new pair and I brought them back. This year the tongue. First and second contacts all just said they’ll give me a refund minus my rewards. I finally suggested the rewards go back onto my account. I’m sick of fighting for something simple that I deserve.
Last year I spent over a thousand dollars on winter clothes from Crew. This year under $200
Finally. They gave me store credit for my rewards and will refund the boots when I bring them back.
DeleteSuch a shame. I ordered these too, and they arrived in good condition, except missing the second set of laces. They were not in the original box so probably that is how the laces vanished. Don't think I will complain, as I plan to keep them. I think they are very similar to last years suede version, maybe a tiny bit smaller in the forefoot.
Delete@ suzhaz..., Ughhhhh so frustrating, makes the whole thing not worth it... no need to fight for our money when they are wrong.... glad you insisted.

ReplyDeleteSHOPNOW sale is only 25% off (yawn) on the Canadian site, versus 50% flash on the US site. Thanks JCrew, let me get my credit card out, really.
