This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
I received the Tippi in Ribbed Merino in Golden Chartreuse. Colour is beautiful and fit is TTS. I’m very disappointed by how thin it is— a white tank underneath the sweater is clearly visible, so I’ll need to find a different layering piece.
ReplyDeleteI would try a skintone tank if you have any - that will blend better than white which will look white under the top. But bummer that it's so sheer :(
DeleteI think the Tippis are getting more sheer. I've had to return the last two I bought because they were way too sheer alone.
DeleteAll of my items from my orders yesterday shipped (in separate packages, ugh) so I will report back when I get them. I did get the crewneck gathered sweater in supersoft yarn in the deep alpine color (it's still online on sale in black, grey and pink) and I really like it. I went with a small, it's cropped but not too short, it'll be fine with high waisted jeans and have the balloon sleeves. Not sure how the material will hold up but I contemplated getting a black one as well since I do like the shape of the sweater, trendy as it is. I could see it overwhelming someone who is smaller so I'd definitely go with the smaller of your two sizes. The green will be nice for casual holiday get togethers.
ReplyDeleteI decided the black sherpa is going back, it's just a tad too short for my liking and I don't like the flaps on the pockets, I'd rather they zipped rather than snap.
I stopped by for some returns today am to check out new arrivals in store.
ReplyDeleteI ordered the chateau puffer in red online this week and saw it in store. I tried the XS. with a light sweater under it was a little tight across the shoulders so I’m glad I ordered the Small. Even the arms were long enough and the drawstring waist gave it a nice shape. It is a really bright red. I was wearing my lady day coat in one of the bright red colors and it was very similar, but it seems red and not orange, so I’m ok with it.
Aside from that I walked through and enjoyed looking at the holiday pieces but there were no must haves for me aside from the puffer. Looks like the tunic with jeweled buttons is this years funnelneck. I do like the red tiger print but would rather a silk scarf than a shirt. The cashmere hoodie in red was so nice, I was really tempted but don’t need that style. I’m definitely longing for a nice red sweater but that’s not exactly what I want, even if I feel the price was fair with the promo.
Thanks for your thoughts on the red cashmere hoodie. I am always thinking I want a cashmere hoodie, but really I wouldn't wear it enough. When I'm wearing a hoodie it usually means I'm going outside to walk or workout, and I wouldn't likely wear cashmere then. So I too "don't need that style".
DeleteGlad you like the puffer! I think it looks smart (and it covers your assets).
The Cashmere was soft and a nice weight. I even looked to see if there were other styles in that color and it seems there’s just the crew and a turtleneck. Online they do not seem to be eligible for promo.
DeleteDo you mean the cable mock neck? The one that comes in grey/ivory/tan?
DeleteNo I meant the red color is only available in that hoodie, a crew neck and a turtleneck. The cable mockneck is beautiful but $$$ and yes, just gray, ivory and tan.
DeleteI have a collection cashmere hoodie from a few years ago and holy god it is WARM. Every time I wore it I sweated a mess even though I’d wear it in NYC during the dead of winter. After a while I stopped reaching for it and now I haven’t worn it many years. Beautiful but maybe better suited for Iceland in winter.
DeletePosting the chateau puffer in my IG stories @ wear this like this
DeleteStyling the front pocket turtleneck sweater (I sized up), gold lamé headband, and tartan loafers (runs TTS) on the blog.
