This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!

I bought a popback of the tie waist faille skirt (G8783) in the coral color. It was a gamble on a final sale but at $25 I took the chance. It does run tiny in the waist, I bought my larger size (4) and it just fits my waist though the hips are plenty roomy. I'd call it a dirdl skirt, but slim rather than a full A line. It's quite long, so definitely needs heels. The silk&cotton fabic is matte, but still on the dressy side.
ReplyDeleteI also had found a Hacking Jacket in Autumn Coral on Ebay at a great price. The colors are the same family, not too matchy as the skirt is a lighter shade...now I have to figure out if they actually work together.
The jacket is pristine, can't tell it from new. The skirt is new but arrived a wrinkled mess that took an hour with both iron and steamer to sort out.
The jacket is quite bright, I think I will double down and pair with the fuscia princess mini. It fits me fine, but no room in the sleeves for a sweater. But I can also do a tshirt.
I know fashion bloggers and catalog shots style dressy skirts for daytime, but I'm needing to work out a real-life version.
