Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. A couple of interesting new things on sale this AM including (finally)the campbell blazer in linen. With the % off it finally comes to under $100 which I've been waiting for. Just ordered the factory schoolboy in linen, so will compare them and keep the better one :)

    1. I was waiting on the Campbell linen as well, I grabbed the Cinnamon when there was free shipping earlier this week. I tried the white on earlier in the season (only colour my store carried), so I hope I remembered my size correctly as this was FS.

    2. Hmmmm....just did a mock checkout with the Campbell linen blazer in Navy, and although it applied the 50% discount, the item isn't marked as final sale. Anyone else seeing this?

      Delete
    3. I did see it was 50% off and not FS in regular sizes (bonus!). I needed mine in a tall size though and the tall sizes were 40% off. 50% off brings it to like $79 which is great (if it's a nice blazer..haven't even seen one IRL yet, ha.)

    4. I am tempted to buy it. I have a linen Anne Klein blazer I have worn for years. It's still in good shape though. I also see the reviews say this blazer fits boxy and that is just not the look I want in linen.

  3. Not visiting but did make an order. There are a few dresses I want to try as well as the yellow Baja satin Espradrilles. I wish the Collection leather jacket in Moroccan Sand still had my size left, I think it's being offered at a good price.

Has anyone tried on/reviewed the strapless crossfront top?

    1. I reviewed it in my IG.
It is awesome and i bought it!

    2. Dmitri, I tried the strapless top as well after seeing it on Ina. I was hesitant because I'm tall and it looked short on the hanger. I took my regular blouse size and loved it. It's on my instagram "story" from last night (@fablifeforever)so it'll be up until tonight and I plan to post photos on my blog this weekend.

      Delete
    3. I want to try that too. I saw Ina's endorsement, and it's good to he's Anne likes it as well. I want to try the red. I hope my store has it, and I'll be checking today since I'm going in to pick up an order (Liberty Thorpe top and shorts, and Avery heels from a pop back).

The few things on my wish list are probably not in store- Collection safari jacket, Lucite heels in red, navy suede leggings, and the new Italy tee. I'm sad to see, from a review, that this shirt has a typo on it :( Prior to hearing that from a review, I asked my store if they had it. The manager said not anything with Italy specifically on it...

    4. I tried and reviewed the Lucite heels in red. They are not a true red, more of a flamingo. I liked them and if you want to see a pic they are one my IG @sarah Folz

  5. Stopped in yesterday. I ordered 2 swimsuits...the halter keyhole and the plunge V-neck. Apparently I'm too tall and have a long torso because they weren't long enough in the body for me. I'm 5'9" and weigh 135lbs...I tried size 8 and 10...not much difference in size aside from being too short. bummer.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sorry to hear that, the plunge Vneck looks so nice. I'm worried about the length too, I just ordered a ruched one to try. There are some styles in 'long torso', I have a feeling I might have to try that. I hope you find one that works for you!

      Delete
    2. I might understand the suits not fitting if I had anything in the way of a chest or rear-end to take up fabric...but I don't! I'm really flat chested and don't have a large rear either. I'm not sure sizing up even more would be the answer either.

      Delete
    3. I have the same problem and I'm only 5'4"! And I'm also very flat chested so that's not taking up any extra room ;) I'm thinking of ordering the shoulder tie full piece since it is "adjustable".

    4. When I receive the long torso one (just ordered) I'll post how it compares to the regular one I ordered.

    1. Lately I have been saying the only time I feel old is when I go to read. I did really well for longer than typical (47 and I just started wearing reading glasses, which ironically I think have made my vision worse) and I'm ready to try some exercises or other solutions. And this reminds me of my favorite uncle when I was a kid, he was the only sibling with blue eyes (my mom and aunt have green). They all told me a little white lie, which was to eat carrots because they would make my eyes turn blue like my uncles. Well, I ate a lot of carrots. (I guess it was a spin on the fact that they say the beta carotene in carrots is good for your eyes).

  8. I picked up my orders without a problem and Sa that the Italy graphic tee had arrived. I was happy to see it wasn't excluded from the promo like it was online. Even with the typo I like it. Kind of sad. I wonder if the error will affect how it gets marked down, since the error has already been called out.

    2. This is GREAT news from a business standpoint. Thanks for the heads up, TM93! I hope this relieves some pressure to cut corners with use short-term quick "fixes" - and allows the new team to play a more strategic long game for the brand. They have to figure out what roles "fast fashion" and Collection will have in their product strategy. I don't think 2nd qtr results will be good - they will have to unload a lot of OTS and ruffles, but I am really hopeful again.

    3. Thank you for posting, TM93! Great news and hopefully this gives them time to make improvements. I'm glad the lenders haven't given up.

    4. It won't help if they keep on the "trend" train. It just delays the inevitable unless the design people really make changes. I feel the entire place needs an makeover.

      Delete
    5. This is good news for the short term. They have new debt to pay off older debt. If revenue doesn't pickup they are prolonging the inevitability a la Sears Holdings, The Limited, etc. Essentially they borrowed more to keep from bankruptcy. Not uncommon, but risky. They should start focusing on Fall and Holiday 2017 rollouts and hope we want what they are selling.

    6. Thanks for sharing. It's good to hear that there is still hope! It would be wonderful if J Crew turns things around and there is a rainbow after the storm. I feel compelled to share with them that article linked here the other day about what women over 35 want from fashion. I began wearing J Crew well before 35, but there is an enormous opportunity here, and the fast fashion stores have already flooded the market.

    7. Agree with everyone's comments! (I'm sorry I couldn't add more to my original post, as my keyboard froze after I copied & pasted and I couldn't even add a separate line for the article link.) But yeah, I do think this is good news for now, at least, but that it's just a stopgap measure to ward off the inevitable. I hope JC uses the extra time to go back to the drawing board and take some of the thoughtful and helpful comments that many JCAs have already voiced. Fingers crossed! I'm relieved for now and hope they get it together! :-)

  13. Last week when they had the 40% off, I used it (combined with an additional 20%) to get the Paley pants in the Italian stretch wool and a few linen tanks. I got the Paley's in a tall, because I basically wanted skinny pant suit, I already had the blazer. I see them a lot with higher end brands, but I hadn't found an affordable version. I looked at the Paley's and realized getting them in tall would make them full length. They're perfect! I might get them hemmed slightly at an angle, just so they rest perfectly on top of my foot. They're good as is though.

I also got the rest of my Madewell things. The side-button midi skirt in rhoda stripe and matching crop are super cute. True to size for me, I got the top in a 4 and the bottom in a 6. The fabric is substantial and like how this version of the side button seems a little less voluminous than other versions. Keeps it from being too cutesy, you know, and it drapes well.

I sized down in the central shirt in erinn stripe, per reviews, but I am actually going to go exchange it for my normal small. I think if you want it to sit behind the shoulders, like it's meant to be worn, than it is actually true to size. I has a cocoon shape, so it will be wide through the body. That's just the design.

I also bought the belted short overalls. I have been wanting overalls since they came back into style for adults. I really loved them as a kid :p. To continue the theme, they fit super cute and were true to size for me. I went with the medium for my behind, since I don't have to worry about the fit on top. I think it will pair well with all the bralettes I have purchased from VS.

I am ready for summer...whenever it decides to show up in Portland.

  14. I went to a store for the first time in about a month yesterday -- like many of you, I've been making an effort to be more thoughtful about my purchases so I've bought less than usual in the past few weeks. But my husband needed some pants so we hit our local store -- they were running a special promo for mens' clothes -- the storewide 25% off PLUS an extra 15% for mens' clothing, presumably for Father's Day. He bought a few polos, lightweight chinos, and a button-down and was very pleased with everything.

In the meantime, I was hoping they'd have the postcard skirt in store so I could get an idea of the overall aesthetic, but alas, only the shorts and the bow-ruffle tank were available. (Side note: this is another thing JC needs to figure out - this skirt seems to be their main piece in the current rollout campaign. So why not carry it in store?? You know people are going to come in looking for it! Sigh.)

I tried on the following: Button-front ruffle top item G5678 (this is the top featured with that postcard print skirt.) I know several JCAs have already reviewed it. I didn't find it at all flattering on me personally, as it seems to billow out into a tent-like fashion (I also can't imagine trying to tuck all that shapeless fabric into a skirt/shorts.) Disappointing, as the blue color is quite nice.

Pull-on embroidered skirt (item G5838); I need some more casual skirts for summer Fridays at work. This one fit the bill and I love the lightweight fabric, color and its pocket factor. I'm short so length isn't an issue. Runs big.

Grabbed the Made in the Shade in tan/white lettering just to have a top to try on. I ended up liking this one more than I thought I would. Love the color.

Ruffle-shoulder sheath dress (item G6252) Tried it on out of curiosity. The ruffle sleeves are quite pronounced in this one (not in a bad way or anything). Definitely a standout piece and seems to be well done. Just not very flattering on me.

Linen ruffle skirt (item G4590): I keep trying to make this skirt work, but I think, with the ruffle and the slight flair, I would really need to try on the Petite version to cut down on the poofy factor that ends up happening on Short Me. It seems like a fun piece for summer.

Also tried on Linen skirt in palm tree print (item G4616) from a few rollouts ago. Hadn't seen this one IRL up until now but it's a nicer piece in person -- the fabric and print are nice. Love the pockets. Only issue for me is that this tends to be a fuller skirt and it just doesn't flatter my mid-section. I hope others try it -- it's a really pretty, well-done piece.

Lastly, I tried on the Bow top with embroidered trim (item G5713): I love ruffles, but some of them can be overwhelming on my frame. The ones on this top were just the right amount for me. I love the ability to cross the ties or just wear them over the shoulder. The body of the top fit well on me -- long enough that I'm able to tuck it in about two inches in that pull-on skirt, as an example. (Again, I'm short, 4'11" and I think my torso is average-- definitely not long though.)

Ended up buying the Bow top cami, pull on skirt and the Made in the Shade tee. As with many things JC these days, I know these items will eventually go on sale, but sometimes you just want instant satisfaction. I do think JC has ruined us and hurt themselves with their constant promos and also with how quickly items hit Sale. It did cross my mind that I could probably wait a week or two, but like I said, sometimes you're instantly pleased with something, it makes you happy and you just need a little shopping therapy! :)

Glad you found some items to bring home. :) I too was hoping to see the postcard print skirt IRL, it seems like no stores received it so I'm hoping that it will still arrive in store. Makes no sense if it doesn't. I did like the print better IRL than my first impression online when I saw the shorts in person.

    6. Great reviews. Im curious about the linen skirt. Reviews say the navy looks black (and it does on my screen, plus they do pair it with that black gingham top). Can anyone verify it looks black? I'm not a long skirt person, but I love the longer wrap skirt with the ruffle and would consider it in black just because...but this shorter version would be much more wearable for me.

  19. Just a quick tip for anyone who doesn't want their frayed hems to further fray: I successfully did this on last year's raw hem white denim skirt by applying no-sew Liquid Stitch. I put a strip of it, smoothing it on, just above the frayed edge on the inside at the line where I wanted the fraying to stop (not on the loose threads themselves, as I wanted them to remain soft and able to move). I've washed and dried the skirt and it looks much the same as before I put it in. Previously I would be trimming off strings 1-2 in he long each laundering. I may try it on my distressed jeans next. Hope this helps!

So glad I sized down as recommended by the reviews. Still loose fitting and think that the armholes would have definitely been too big in my usual size. Length, hits below my hip bones. Probably could have gone with a petite, I'm 5'3", but I like the length.
Fabric is soft and lightweight, perfectly cool for a hot Summer.

  21. Ugh, so I was supposed to be done for this month, but I bought a couple more things. Today is my birthday, so I guess it is legit.

I went in to Madewell to exchange sizes and I saw the the Talisa sandals. They are super comfy and look really flattering. I have a slightly wide foot and not all low-mid heel strappy sandals look good. I think they'll need minimal break in and will be great for traveling.

I dropped by my local JCrew and it was just 40% off, so I passed. I'd rather order online if the discount is the same, so the sale isn't final. I was able to try the Campbell blazer and I really liked it. I don't get some of the reviews. They are all over the place. I found it true to size and fitted to my hour glass shape. The sleeves could perhaps be slimmer, but I don't think it's pronounced. I think the quality is decent, certainly better than factory, from what I've seen.

Anywho, I came home and ordered it in the white. I don't have a white blazer. With the 50% + 20% off, it came to $63.20. Good deal. I'd pay more, but why would I want to :p.

I passed on getting the Lightweight striped off-the-shoulder ruffle sweater again. I like it, but there is something off. I think it's how thick it is. I think for the style of top and the fabric, you'd be really limited on when you could wear it. Warm enough you wouldn't need a jacket, but not so warm you wouldn't sweat in it. I think I might eventually get it, but I think I'll wait until it is discounted more, to get the cost per wear down.

    1. Interesting insights, Jessica. The FS difference is annoying. I haven't been told my purchase is FS in store in a while, so I tend to forget that. About the lightweight ruffle sweater- that is precisely what I thought regarding wearability. I thought it looked nice on, if a bit dramatic for everyday, but it would have to be warm enough for OTS, but not at all hot, because the ruffle layers were so thick it would be unbearable. I had to pass for the impracticality of needing my clothing mood and a specific weather event to coincide ;)

    2. The final sale in store and sometimes higher prices makes me reluctant to purchase in store too, although sometimes store percentage off sale IS better, you need to check before you go, sad To say. I have actually returned items purchased in store at supposedly final sale, they don't often mention anything when you buy. I try not to do it with any frequency.

  25. I had a weird store experience I had to share. I went today to return an item and pick up a ship to store order. Before I did either I walked through the sale section, and as I was walking away saw an associate and asked her about my item, and she went through the whole list of procedures about putting it in a bag, having me sign the iPad, etc. Rather than wait for her to get it I told her I would do all the transactions at once and asked her to leave it behind the counter. I did my try on and waited on line for my transactions.
This assoc was helping a mom and young adult/ teen daughter with a crewcuts gift purchase and pretty much squeezing the item into a little bag. They saw another customer with a medium sized bag and another medium sized bag behind the counter and asked if they could have one of those. Not sure if they ran out or she didn't want to give it. When I got up for my transaction I realized MY ship to store order (one pair of adult shorts) was in the Crewcuts bag. I turned to them and asked if they wanted my bag and the mom said," it's ok, it's squeezed into this little bag already."
I made my return, bought my shorts and ended up with a big crewcuts bag I have no use for...what the heck? I try to recycle and not be so wasteful with things like this but it seems so silly that they actually could have used the bag...I'm happy just sticking my tissue wrapped items into my longchamp tote I always bring shopping.

In addition, I scored the white high waist tie waisted shorts. I know I have mentioned I don't love the bow but I could actually use shorts and for $25 plus I used my 15% off code...why not. While I was up there I asked the assoc helping me to return the shorts I just picked up (since I paid more) and allow me to repurchase them. Normally I don't do that but I figured...if you don't ask...so I'm happy to have received two pairs of tie waist shorts for under $50. I will wear the white similarly to how I'll wear the black, with a button down for at night in lieu of a dress.

    1. I think it might have to do with running out of bags. I noticed at VS that when they're busy they'll often squeeze your things into the smallest bag possible, but when it's less busy they don't seem to care and will grab a larger bag.

I am shameless. If I have bought an item and haven't worn it, I will absolutely return it and buy the item if it's cheaper. IMO a return and PA policy should line up when you don't have a very large return window to begin with and you're in the business of mark downs.

    2. But what made it weirder was that my little shorts didn't need such a big bag. There were a few people but I wouldn't call it busy. I don't want to say the assoc was lazy for not getting the right size bag, but she could have either asked someone on the floor to do it or stepped away for 20 seconds to do it right. It was obvious the shoppers were either perplexed or slightly annoyed.

    3. Suz - not sure about your store, but I work at JC and our bags are almost gone! Waiting for more, which won't arrive til Friday! In the meantime we are using whatever we have - crew cuts, etc. Perhaps it is not only our store waiting for bags....

  27. I posted some try on photos/reviews from last week's trip to the store, including the chambray ruffle top, Thomas Mason tulle trim top, denim skirt, striped eyelet dress, black linen jumpsuit with tie, strapless cross front top, button front ruffle top, and linen ruffle skirt with postcard print tee.

You can see the photos/post on my blog here

    3. Haven't read it yet (will do so at lunch), but sending thanks in advance! Really enjoy your reviews. (I saw your Insta story last week -- it mentally prepared me for what to expect when trying on the Button front ruffle top!)

  28. Was just told in store that the limit for web returns is 30 days - wtf

    1. I think j. crew and madewell very quietly changed this policy a few months ago. a few weeks ago I was returning some things to madewell within the 60-day window, and the store rep very kindly told me that the policy had changed, and that she would of course accept these returns, but I should know the new policy moving forward. 30 days for both online and in store. I wish they had let us know through email or something, but at least the rep who told me was very nice about it. I'm sorry if you had a bad experience.

      Delete
    2. That's certainly a new change. I just received a J.Crew order here at work that my husband placed last week and the order slip sheet mentions nothing about the policy change. It still has the '60 days' for web orders policy listed on it.

I know Madewell changed theirs when they introduced their various Frequent Shopper programs a few months ago, but the JC policy is the first I'm hearing of it.

      Delete
    3. The returns policy on the website still says 60 days for online orders.

      Delete
    4. I just took a screenshot on my phone of where it says 60 days on the website to keep with me in case I have any problems returning from recent orders. :)

      Delete
    5. Bizarre. To SA: Please allow me, the customer, to refer you to the actual policy...

      Delete
    6. Yep, if the written policy hasn't changed, the policy hasn't changed.

      Delete
    7. That's not true. As of today, on J.Crew's website, this is what it says: "For your convenience, J.Crew phone purchases, Internet purchases and orders placed in stores for delivery, excluding fine jewelry, that shipped to a U.S. address may be returned to any J.Crew store in the United States for a full refund or exchange within 60 days of original purchase."

      Delete
    8. Hopefully, that was just a misinformed sales associate. That happened to me once at Madewell (before their policy changed). I had to explain to her that the return policy was 60 days for online purchases and 30 for in-store, and she looked at another sales associate for confirmation before she would do it. If Jcrew changes their policy to 30 days my shopping will decrease drastically (which probably wouldn't be such a bad thing;)

  29. oof. at least madewell's policy online has some bolding and italicizing and an attempt at showing that it has changed. have any of you been reading the comments over on effortlessly with roxy about anthro customers and how they learned about anthro's new return policy? unfortunately it seems like those SAs treated anthro customers like how this j. crew rep treated wellfedfred.

    1. ROXY, I follow you on IG but never saw your blog. Love it!
THAT Madewell gingham top and skirt are great—I don't love it in gingham so I hope they do it in a solid or more subtle pattern. (I like gingham but only in small doses.)

      Delete
    2. But I have to say, I really, really HATE how the models in Madewell product shots online are always in motion or pulling on their clothing. It's so difficult to get a sense of the shape. I would never have looked at that gingham top if I didn't see It styled with the jeans.

    3. JC will be legally bound to go by the return policy written in effect at the time of a purchase. So if website now says 60, it's 60. Same as what is printed on the packing slip. There's no "quietly" changing unless they want to get sued for unfair business practices.

      Delete
    4. so true, Cass. I think that's why Anthropologie seems to have backed away from their new return policy -- the horror stories of people being unable to return things because of the new policy were circulating quickly online. I wonder what will end up happening with JC.

      Delete
    5. Yes I went over to the blog and read that thread--sounded so illegal to retroactively apply a different policy and I bet they could get in trouble if reported to relevant states' attorney generals. Unless their online policy states stores have discretion whether or not to accept returns? Not cool at all.

    6. Madewell's policy also states that "all lingerie is final sale." Whoa. Never saw that before. What if you get a bra that doesn't fit? Guess I won't buy any at Madewell.

      Delete
    7. I feel like a lot of places that don't specifically sell lingerie have that policy, and it's so weird because that is rarely the policy for their swim products. I assume the concern is the same.

      Delete
    8. I also wonder if the lingerie policy is something new, also enacted with the new 30-day online return policy? because when the lingerie line first launched, I bought three of the bras, unfortunately none of them fit (the curse of 34DDD), and I returned them all no problem.

  30. Asked CS about the extra 15 off promo. Curiosity got me because I've had several packages, but no offers. Response that it must be the current Factory promo. I replied giving more specifics, and said it was definitely not for Factory. Another web rep responded again that I must be talking about the Factory code. Apparently the cannot talk about that extra 15 retail deal.

    2. I find with JCrew cs, if you don't have documentation or proof, it doesn't exist. Too many representatives do it for it to be an accident or one person left out of the loop. They know those 20% off and 15% off stackable promos exist. I screen shot everything.

      Delete
    3. Interesting. At least, thanks to you, Jessica, I was able to use the offer once. I did get the feeling they were being evasive since I was quite specific, and yet they kept talking about Factory. I have made 1 Factory purchase in my lifetime, and it was obvious that's not what I was interested in. Just wish they had said something more truthful like it sounds like other people got offers that you didn't. They could have said they didn't know why, or that it was random, or that they could find out for me, or that they couldn't say. I'm not crying over it by any means, but I didn't like the evasiveness of the replies.

  31. Here's a curious example of how off JC's production cycle seems to be: the Zip-front sleeveless dress (Item G2717) debuted sometime in the spring, sometime around March of this year, per reviews. I'd admired it, but wished it came in Petite.

Fast-forward to today when I spy a Petite version, in all three colors, full size runs, full price (Item G3781, if anyone is curious). So apparently this dress does come in Petite and they're only getting around to rolling out the Petite version now. ?? Anywho....

    1. Good example! Yes and now the regular version is marked down to $80 minus 40% while the petite is FP!

      Delete
    2. Haha, yes! Adding insult to injury! (I know they're FP because they've just debuted these on the website, but man, get it together, JC!) The reviews for this dress say that the fabric is substantial, so they really should've debuted during spring, not as we're about to go into the heat of summer. Oh, well.

    3. Thanks for the info., TM93. I'd seen this dress awhile ago but I didn't bother to try it because there are no tall options. Now that there are petite options, maybe in a couple of months, tall sizes will appear!

  32. Nobody has cotton sweaters this summer. Why? Madewell has two and J.Crew has none that are of any interest to me. I have two J.Crew summer cardigans that I wear constantly. One is about 10 years old, the other is close to 20 years old. I still get compliments on both. Why are they not hiring good designers anymore?!?

  33. I wonder whether this dress is supposed to be part of a mini-rollout (I hadn't noticed it before, but I might have just missed it earlier):

Petite tie-neck dress in rainbow gingham Item G6021

I see it in Petite and Tall, not sure about Regular. Same design as the Solid color bow detail dress.

  34. Anyone pining for the Collection pinstripe ruffle skirt...the $695.00 one? Get yourself to Target pronto! I just bought the Who What Wear dress version. It's a wrap dress with a 3/4 sleeve. The skirt part looks pretty dang close to the $695.00 collection skirt. It's the same blue and white striped fabric. The Target dress....$36.99. I'm sorry but I don't see it online. A young woman was carrying it around with her and I stopped and mentioned to her that it was a knockoff of a $695.00 J. Crew skirt and she said "Ok! You've convinced me. I'm buying it!". I'm going to wear it to our family 4th of July picnic with my navy gingham ankle tie espadrilles and my red Rumba earrings. The designers at Who What Wear are really knocking it out of the ball park this summer!

    1. Lol, I actually really like the Who What Wear line. I don't shop often at Target for clothes, but I got some great linen tees there last summer, that have held up super well.

    2. I don't purposely go there for the clothes...but every time I stop in for something else, I leave with a cute clothing item! I've gotten some super nice things this summer. A couple weeks ago I bought a navy/white large scale check bomber jacket that is adorable. It looks exactly like something the Crew would make. I might "need" to stop at Target more often. Hee!

    3. Nice find, Stray Cat.

I've cut back on what I buy at Target, but like Jessica, I got a WWW linen tee and really like it. Sometimes seeing the Target prices makes me resolve to spend less at J Crew. But I tend to keep most of my Crew purchases, whereas my Target purchases overall have a shorter shelf life.

      Delete
    4. I've had to say no to JCrew on two things. T-shirts, they all get holes in them! It's ridiculous, I'll buy them at Target instead, and cashmere. If their cashmere is going to be a throwaway product, then it should be at throwaway prices.

    5. Oh....I know this dress is definitely in the fantasy dressing area for me. It's just a fun summer frock. But it's cheap fun....even if I was filthy rich I wouldn't spend $695.00 on the collection striped ruffle skirt! It's nice to have options and I appreciate being able to buy something that looks like it costs more than it really did. I agree...I spend my real money on more classic pieces. The Crew gets 95% of my clothing dollars.

    6. Jessica....best tees I've bought this summer were the Studio Tee from J. Crew Factory. They are made of nice substantial fabric and I really like the fit.

I just saw it on a blogger today and it looks so cute. I'd really just like a solid black skirt though!

      Delete
    8. I saw this one....but the one I bought is a long wrap dress. The top wraps but the sleeves are the same as the one you have linked. The skirt part of the dress is ankle length...on me it's above the ankle and has a front inverted "V" where the two parts of the skirt lap over in the front. It exposes the leg a little higher in the front. I didn't see the long wrap version on the website. It like the longer version better (for me). I saw the dress from across the store and immediately thought how much it resembles the collection skirt. I did see a nice solid black WWW skirt...but it had an elastic waistband, which isn't my favorite type of waist finishing.
