Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I got the $25 off birthday gift from Madewell, so I'm probably going to do shopping there (probably online though). From what I see online I think I might try the silk meadow wrap skirt in field bouquet and the central shirt in erinn stripe. If anyone has tried these items, let me know!

I am getting tie-Waist short in the Liberty floral, a few of the stretch suiting tanks, and the paper-bag skirt in the mail soon. I have no clue if the paper-bag skirt will work for me, but I thought I might as well give it a try. I have a feeling it will either be super awesome or an epic fail, nothing in the middle :p.

I'm really drinking the floral-bow kool-aid right now. It's a far departure from my black skinny jeans and knit, or button down, neutral tops.

    1. I reviewed the Central shirt in rose stripe on my IG

    2. Those sound like great picks @Jessica. I've been breaking away from my usual neutral uniform, too. I've been considering the rose stripe Central Shirt. Love the color. Also like the Eyelet Peekaboo top. So debating between these two. Happy birthday!

@Ina, what did you think of the Striped Tie-back tee?

    3. I liked it,but from the front it was basic. My favorite piece is the eyelet bell slevve shirt!!!! Oh and the Easy come, easy go" tee that i will review today.

    4. I got my bday $25 from Madewell too! What a great perk. Will be using in store on clearance item.

    5. @Jessica, I have the paper bag tie waist skirt in the shirting stripe and love it! It's beautiful. It fits a bit loose on me in the rear as I'm not very curvy. At first I was shocked by how long the tie belt is but it works. I hope it works for you.

    6. @Jan Thank you! That is great to know.

@Ina Mack What is your IG?

    7. Thanks @Ina. I was guessing that about the striped shirt. Missed out on a striped shirt last year that looked similar, but it was more obvious that the stripes were in different directions. (hope that makes sense).

Here's the link to Ina's instagram Jessica.

    9. @maryeb Thanks!

@RN Just an FYI, but the code getaway, $15 off of $75, works on clearance, and you can use the giftcard with it. That is what I did.

  2. Probably no shopping for me (but you never know). I have done some successful shopping on eBay lately and found some real J Crew gems there: cotton silk floral watercolor shirt, jeweled striped merino sweater, silk foulard pajama shirt and silk heart dot sleeveless shirt, all NWT. All items I missed out on earlier or thought I didn't need ;-)

  3. I have to return the satin tie heels. They are quite pretty (they run very small -- a half-size up barely fit) but, they are not perfect, so I'm not keeping them. The color is amazing (the sand color). But, I don't like how nothing keeps the heel in place. They "flip" like a flip flop when I walk. That's not what I want in an elegant shoe. Also, they seem so delicate. Beyeeen the satin and the light color, I'd live in fear of a droplet of rain or a splash of someone's drink. Lastly, they are just a smidge narrow at the cross part, making them not comfortable. So, back they go.

  4. Lame how I can't shop JCrew online using my iPhone. Site is slow, and I always get the 'Oops try again' message. I've already rebooted my phone, and I'm using my home wi-fi.

  5. I have returns to make so I will be stopping in tomorrow morning. I'm making a concerted effort to buy less for summer as our season is pretty short so I'll be trying to peruse the sale section less...it's so hard though! I would like to get a new one piece bathing suit though so I've been watching those for a good promo/sale.

Not to wish the nice weather away but it's hard to believe another month and we'll be seeing the first round of fall items.

    1. Yup! I feel like i keep buying for summer but our summer is also short and this year have barely been any days above 55 yet...Def need to stop buying summer only clothes at this point....

    2. Looking forward to JCrew in the fall.

      Delete
    3. I was told yesterday that there is one more summer release next week and possibly a mini one...then July brings pre-fall. I know this happens every year, but it seems too early this year...we have just started to get a few days of summer. I'm not ready to see fall things!!!

      Delete
    4. Our summer is loooong but I'm also trying to be more thoughtful with my summer purchases. If you are looking for a one piece suit you should check out American Eagle. They have some really cute suits at great prices! I've bought a few suits from them over the past couple of years and I have been happy with them. I also ordered a full piece from Zara to try.

      Delete
    5. I can't shop pre-season. It's makes me feel hot (or cold) to shop when the weather doesn't line up. Also, it violates my new clothing policy of wear it for the season or return! If you buys something months in advance of the season, you lose your ability to return if an item doesn't fit into your wardrobe or lifestyle.

      Delete
    6. That's a smart way to look at shopping, Jessica. I wore a pair of sandals today for the first time and a woman asked me where I bought them. I told her J. Crew, but that I was sorry...they have been sold out for months. I purchased them in March and it's just now able to wear them!

  6. Jessica, I hope you like the Liberty shorts. I want those, but have the dress in that print, and keep thinking I shouldn't. They are so cute, though! Hope they are great for you.

    1. Yeah, I also keeping thinking about the blouse! I think I'll wait and if I really love the shorts and actually wear them often, I'll consider adding the blouse.

    2. I do love the idea of that set, too :) Let us know how the shorts work out.

    3. I did the same with the elephant print in the coral color. I wasn't sure at first because I'm not much of a pattern person, but I really like the set.

  7. I decided to return the Comme des Garcons x Converse sneakers (they run 1 full size big. even gel inserts and socks are not enough) so will need to head to a store tomorrow. Anyone know the instore discount?

    1. Did you pay FP for those? I keep thinking I want them but they're always excluded from promos... May put my next rewards toward them. What's your normal size? Seems like the reviews that said they ran huge where the smaller sizes and I'm usually a size 10 so wondering if the bigger sizes are more TTS.

      Delete
    2. Hey Julie-- I managed to grab them on promo once a few months ago. They're definitely weird in terms of sizing. I'm an 8.5 in basically everything, so I ordered them in an 8. They're a little big still, but wearable.

      Delete
    3. thanks Monica! I am a very consistent size 10 so I'll probably go for a 9.

      Delete
    4. I didn't pay FP for them - I got them on a promo a few months ago, and I think they sent me the wrong size - like instead of a woman's 6, they sent me a men's 10 or something. When I tried to exchange for my size, they were out of stock, so I was told that any time in the next year that my size pops up, I can still get them at the promo price. Well, I did, and they were huge. The women's 6 fit like a 7. I even went to a Converse store to make sure I had my correct Converse size (I did), so it's definitely this particular shoe that runs 1 size big. And they don't make these in a women's 5, so sadly I had to return them for good.

  8. Decided I "needed" the Pineapple popover and a pink tee this morning. Found the popover locally but couldn't find the Perfect Fit T anywhere and it's sold out in my size online. One of my stores mentioned he thought it might be available in a Seattle store. So I thought I'd forget about it...but couldn't and looked up the stores and found there are at least 6. So I just picked one and called. BIG SHOUT OUT to Josh at the Pike St. store....he had two pink tees left and one was a Medium! Yah! He also offered to ship it to me free of cost! I sometimes am dismayed by the designs, fabrics, etc. at the Crew...but I maintain they have the best customer service anywhere!

  9. Went in and made a return (ship to store from last week that turned out to be the total wrong color - I didn't think to double check when I picked it up). I purchased 3 items, 2 of which were on sale. Regular priced merchandise was 25% off and sale was an extra 40%. After my visit I looked at my receipt and it seems she only gave me 25% off of each item. This is from the same associate that has an unwelcoming, borderline rude attitude every time I deal with her. I wish there was some way to see who was working before I made my shopping trip!

  10. I typed PREORDER under search on JCrews site. If anyone is interested in this postcard print skirt. Here's the link: And the 25% off promo applies. What I like is the button up top the model is wearing.

    4. Thanks! I like the postcard print. I don't own very many printed skirts and might order it! Also like the looks of the plunge V-neck one piece swimsuit. I saw the white maxi dress with embroidery in my store. The sales associated called it a maxi dress. I said...well, yes, it is a maxi...but it's sheer. So I would call it a swim cover up. I could see my hand right through it. I really don't understand WHY they can't see that too???

    5. @Ruffles JCrew at it's best really? I think JCrew has done far better than what I consider to be American tourist chic.

@Stray Cat I have always wanted to get one of the plunge one pieces. JCrew always seems to sell out of those before I make up my mind.

  11. Haha I didn't really notice the abundance of fruit in the Postcard print. I think that seeing it everywhere and on everything J Crew lately has desensitized me - I've built up a tolerance!

    1. @Ruffles, I think the fruit blend I'm nicely in this print, as opposed to being the focus, which is a nice change from what they've been doing. It's a pretty print and I think it also comes in an OTS top and another with ruffles.

      Delete
    2. TM93, I agree! I'm completely over OTS stuff but I think the skirt will work for me. After that, I'm going to stop summer buying - I've got plenty of new things still NWT and will look forward to fall rollouts.

    3. why not a top with sleeves. the this item would be in style for more than one year. but nice print...

      Delete
    4. @Ruffles, please report back, would love to hear your thoughts! I'm tempted, too, but similar to what other JCAs have expressed, summer is a super short season for me as well and I have plenty to war as it is. It's been a while since we had a classic print like this one.

  13. Saw the Embroidered Cross-Back Maxi Dress at the store yesterday and thought it was nicely made. Good thick linen. Love the smock style and cross-back strap. Feels very Grecian, makes me want to go to Santorini. 😊 If i purchase the dress I would probably hem it to midi length so the length doesn't overwhelm me with all the fabric.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Interesting.....I put my hand up in that dress and could see right through the fabric. I didn't try it on...maybe you wouldn't be able to see undergarments under it? I thought it was cute but wondered about the bra situation. What kind of bra would work...no bra (not for me!). That's why I thought it was a swimsuit cover up.

  15. Attended two social events this weekend and in both cases wore entirely J. Crew....except for my underwear! One night I wore the Pineapple popover with mustard yellow Bermuda shorts (old) from The Factory, navy braided belt and navy fringe sandals from a few years ago, navy cluster drop earrings from the Factory and navy/natural striped wicker clutch from several years ago. Last night I wore the plaid wide leg cropped paper bag bow tie pants from last rollout, medium blue Tippi sweater (old) navy patent strappy wedges (old) navy/natural wicker clutch, and all my jewelry was from J. Crew too...big dangly fringe/stone earrings, orange leopard bracelet, big chunky gold bracelet and rhinestone link bracelet. I received tons of nice compliments!

  16. I wish they'd quit with the "Best Swimsuits On The Planet" tagline. They are not at J. Crew, not if you want or need any support in your suit.

    ReplyDelete

    1. To their credit, I love the long sleeve options they've put out. I took several suits on my dive trip to Belize last month, and not only were they super comfortable and practical (the sun is unforgiving that close to the equator), I got compliments from just about every lady diver or snorkeler I met 🤗

      Delete
    2. I'm not sure if you're talking about a long-sleeved one-piece suit or a rash guard, but either way, if there isn't support I cannot wear it. I have a few J. Crew rash guards but need something supportive under them. J. Crew has very few options for a D+ cup size. I would not be getting compliments in most of their suits!

      Delete
    3. While I agree that many of J.Crew's suits don't offer a lot of support for us D+ cup ladies, the ruched bandeau one piece suit has been a favorite of mine for years. Not sure if you've tried that one, but I always found it to be flattering and supportive.

      Delete
    4. I think their swimsuits are pretty great. Support isn't the only determining factor. That is a specific characteristic you're looking for in a swim suit and there are brands that offer that.

      Delete
    5. If you need support, support IS the only determining factor, and yes I'm looking to other brands. I shouldn't have to do that if J. Crew really sells the Best Swimsuits on The Planet. But once again, J.Crew has sent me elsewhere to shop. It's a shame because their swim fabrics are very nice and the styles are cute. I almost ordered some to try, but the reviews all said zero or very little support. I feel like I'm being told to shop somewhere else if I'm too big to wear J. Crew, ugh.

Anne, I have that suit and I agree with you. It's not amazing support, but it's enough that I can wear it. It's a nice suit I agree.

      Delete
    6. cate, if you're looking for support and willing to spend some $$, I just bought a Prima Donna swim suit and it's fantastic. They're bra sized and fit a wide variety of sizes. I bought mine at my local specialty bra shop.

      Delete
    7. Thanks Anne, I'm not familiar with that brand. I will take a look!

      Delete
    8. I agree. I'm petite sizing and the torso lengths of one-piece JC swim NEVER fit - not long enough!! And not enough butt coverage! I find I have to go up two sizes for bottom coverage, which means the top is loose. I've found Norma Kamali swim is pretty good for one-pieces, and the French brand Princesse Tam Tam makes great ones though they rarely make one-pieces anymore. I had a PTT one-piece for like 10 years, that was how durable it was.

      Delete
    9. Thanks for the brand suggestions, eeps, I'll take a look. The underwire suits at J.Crew should work for me, but the cups are usually in the wrong place for me. Long torso didn't work either. Even if I get the underwire in the right place, there isn't enough boob coverage.

      Delete
  17. I love the variety of suits being offered, too.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh...I was just thinking of ordering a couple one piece suits. The plunge V-neck ones. I don't have anything in the chest area so that isn't a deal breaker. Anyone have any comments on those suits...the plunging V-neck in Italian matte and the new one in the same style. I'm guessing on size...hope I hit it right. I'm 5'9" and around 135 lbs. I'm ordering size 8.

  20. I ordered the director pencil skirts and love them. They look and feel great. Now if J.Crew would bring back a cropped jacket! I can't do the regent or the campbell.

  21. I feel like they'll probably sell-out by the time I make a decision on this, but the Collection Chelsea glitter boots popped back in a number of sizes, and I'm not sure what size to get, given there are only two reviews. Both say they fit big, and the scale showed them way on the too large scale, but I can't tell if I should actually size down or not? I'm usually a 6 in J Crew shoes, sometimes a 6.5, and it looks like one reviewed went with the smaller of their two sizes, but I wasn't sure if maybe a 5.5 would be better. I've been burned before though on items that supposedly fit big, only for them to be TTS or fit small on me. Maybe it's better to err on the size of larger, since that would be easier to make adjustments for than shoe that turns out too small?

    1. I think maqsad may have reviewed them on her IG at some point. Perhaps she can chime in? I love the look of them and am especially interested in the greenish pair at fashion week (haven't seen them for sale yet, though).

      Delete
    2. Hi Xan, they fit TTS for me. I am always a 6 at JCrew. If you try them on barefoot, you may find them roomy, but in the end you're most likely to wear with socks, so you'll be fine. I would not size down bc they're far from broad in the body or the toe box. HTH!

      Delete
    3. Oh wow, thank you both for the really prompt responses! masquad, that's a great point, re: socks (and come to think of it, the times I have bought 5.5 shoes from places, I've regretted it later because they 'fit' when I was only wearing those disposable nylon socks, and forgot to take actual socks into account), so I ended up going with the 6 after all. Thanks so much again!
