  1. Darn it, no chateau parka on sale.
Anyone else get the email that their jcrew store is open early 8-10 for bagels, special discounts and stylists on hand to help? Wonder what the discounts are.

  2. I got the breakfast email. It's a nice touch, and I'd like to get to the mall early on Saturday to avoid the parking nightmare. I styled the Ski Sweater on the blog today, if anyone is interested in checking out the fit.

  3. Saw 40% off promo email, called for price adjustment, very efficient PS put it thru without hassle. Have therefore decided to keep the coat in question. V. happy.

  4. Saw the peacoat as well...have been eyeing on the golden sun color for a while now..gotta hang tied to savings resolution!! :(

  5. Review here of the sequin side-stripe shirts in blue and in white. Both are $69.99 before GIVETHIS.

  6. I just made an order - got free shipping (not sure why since that is not advertised for today). Among my purchases was the shattered print sleeveless top - for $28 I figured it was worth a try even though the reviews say the front slit is too low.

I don't have any experience with Havaniana (sp?) flipflops but $6.99 sounds like a decent price to me so I bought those too.

    1. Never mind - I see now that there is free shipping today for everyone. The blizzard of discounts and shifting promos has made me ignore the fine print.

    2. cousy - I have several pairs of Havaianas of love them. They are super comfortable, and $6.99 is a really great price for them, too.

  7. I placed an order for the Nylon Hooded Bomber Jacket in navy yesterday, but it's still at 30% off today, so no PA for me. Still a good deal with the extra 30% off though. It looks really cute online, plus the reviews are excellent, so I'm hoping it does not disappoint IRL.

Btw, for those interested there are a lot of great sales taking place from various retailers (many of which offer J.Crew-like items) this weekend. I've shared information on the deals at the bottom of this post.

    1. I have this jacket (in the navy) and I love it, but SIZE DOWN! It is huge. It is huge in the XXS. Otherwise, the coat is perfect. Comfortable, warm, adorable, good quality.

    2. Thanks Blakemdjohns mom! I'm so glad to hear that you love it. I was able to catch the XSmall on popback yesterday morning, so I'm hoping the sizing will work out for me...fingers crossed! The sale price seems pretty reasonable, and as much as I wear coats and jackets now, I'm sure my CPW on it will quickly be in the single digits. :)

  8. Since this is not a J Crew card promotion, there is an American Express promo going on through 12/24/14, spend $125 and get $25 back.

    1. This is a great bonus. I'm embarrassed to say that I've already used mine and my husband's in some "larger" items I've been wanting!

  10. So I have been wanting the buffalo check shirt jacket for weeks and of course it is sold out in every store and online. I would normally take a large but an XL popped back today. BTW, the website is updating real time, even as items are being returned to the stores, so I ordered the XL. There is only 2.5 inches difference across the chest from a L to an XL. I figured I would try it. If anyone has this and can comment, reviews say runs big, please chime in. I can always return the XL if it doesn't work. One reviewer said they actually sized up to be able to layer, so fingers and eyes crossed hoping for the best. I think it was the blogger from Pretty in Pink that sized up, if you are out there, let me know. Thanks.

    1. I'm not a blogger… but I sized up in this one. Didn't need to, but I wanted it to be roomier for layering.

    2. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I will post next week if it works or not.

    3. Hi Doodle, I'm probably the blogger you were mentioning! :)

I did size up from a small to a medium. I ordered both, and they were similar, but the medium was slightly longer & had more room in the arms. I could have really went with either, but the medium gave me more room for layering. Good luck!

    4. It was you! Partial to Pink, I said Pretty in Pink. :) I really enjoy your blog. I am getting more hopeful it will work. I just bought the classic fair isle sweater that I thought might look cute underneath and it is thick.

  11. @Doodle Daschund I think this shirt/Jacket is TTS for me! I wear a Med. most of the time at Jcrew and bought a Med. and I can layer a shirt with it but you never know you might want to wear it more like a jacket .I hope the XL works for you it really is a cute shirt! and like you said you can allways return it if it doesnt work out!

  12. Wow, ordered the golden sun peacoat 2 days ago when there was a full size run listed online. Today I get a cancellation notice, and the coat has disappeared entirely from the site. Really, JC? Seriously ticked as this is the third cancelled item in the past 2 weeks.

    1. What size did you want? I got it in 2 different sizes, but I think I'm going to return both of them -- 8 and 10. Let me know.

    2. Thank you Denee, I did order the 10 - but I'm in Canada. I imagine that might cause some issues? I like the coat, but I wouldn't want to trouble anyone (I'm so Canadian).

    3. I was thinking you could call the store where I return it the day I return it -- but maybe that wouldn't work if you are in Canada?

    4. Don't think that works cross-border. But thank you so much for offering! I will wait and keep an eye out for popbacks online.

  13. Once again the allure of free shipping sucks me into the J.Crew sale vortex. Who knew I needed another slim fit perfect washed shirt? Between this and Club Monaco I have three new shirts coming in the next week. Merry Christmas to me!

Thankfully I ordered a gift for my sister; that should help offset some guilt.

    1. No guilt offset for me. I ordered a few things from the Crew and other retailers, but as we know, the whole free shipping no minimum plus shipping things separately, I am going to be receiving something ridiculous like 8 packages and only one is my husband's. My UPS guy already teases us that we singlehandedly keep him in business.

  14. Review of the wool metallic braid sweater, which gets 40% off. I think it's going to pill, as is the turtleneck sweater reviewed in the post. Too bad on the latter because I liked that one.

  15. Just ordered another Stretch Ribbed Merino Wool Sweater. I was not going to order one more thing, and then I put the one I already own on today. Love this sweater and, with the current promo, I just couldn't resist.
