DeleteSame here, Cate. I probably shouldn't have even bothered to look, but I couldn't help myself. My cart now has 9 items sitting in it. Nine items for which I searched every day during the 40% off promo. Nine items which were sold out in my desired size/color every time I tried to purchase them over the past week +. Now, they're just sitting there in my cart taunting me. I guess you could say I really don't want them badly enough if I'm not willing to pay 40% more for them today. I just can't bring myself to do it.
Deletetotally agree - SO MUCH stuff is now back in stock that was "sold out" when the actual promo was on. sigh. I'm seeing lots of jewelry pieces that I wanted, but I just can't justify it to myself when I know how much cheaper it could have been just days ago. not cool, j. crew.

DeleteThere was also another HUGE update this morning as of 6:00 EST, over 1600 items in the women's sections. Chances are they will see how many folks with bite without the extra discount and then throw in a new sale % off next week.

ReplyDeleteI know this is not the vent post.. but I need to vent! Have you noticed how many things got restocked after the 40% sale was gone? Kiki in calf hair, ettas, ceces...a ton of jewelry! If they still had the 40% off, I would definitely buy some of these items...

DeleteI noticed the restock too but I am not going to bite. This is ridiculous. A fair way to handle it would be to make it final sale ONLY when there is a percentage off. I agree that the Carrie dress in the Hawaiian print for $16 (like it was last week) should be final sale but more expensive stuff that was half the price last week shouldn't be final sale for those who buy it now...

ReplyDeleteJust a warning about some of the jewelry that popped back up this morning. The "painted stone" and "coated stone" necklaces do not wear well. Mine had to be thrown away after 3 wears. :(

DeleteI'm not upset about the restock. I knew it was coming, given that the stores that still had stock sent theirs to the warehouse. I'm actually impressed that it was processed this fast. lol Usually it takes a couple of weeks. Hold onto your clicking fingers. I think we'll see an addtl % off online soon.

DeleteI agree with everyone's comments, so many items and no promo. I did make a purchase in store on Wednesday of a sale item and no % off. But if and when, I highly recommend the Petite Pear Necklace (07335) and Glass Point earrings (a3280) in vintage plum. They are more blue than plum IRL.

ReplyDeleteI went to B&M today and the 25% off items apply in store as well! And they have other random promos like the merino tipped side-panel vneck is priced at $69. And Then the 25% on top of that...along with student discount so I got one at half price! Good deal. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso tried on Campbell capri it fits great! I wish the solid colors are on promo as well...embroidered stripe tunic (A1313) looks AMAZING in person! It's a substantial/not seethrough fabric so it can definitely double as a short summer dress. Again, wish it was on promo.
Forgot to mention, the SA told me that the jean trade-in for 15% off entire purchase promo is going to start on the 17th-ish in store.

DeleteMelly Z - Yes, the stores will do a charge-send for you. However, the prices should be the same nationwide in the US. There may not be signs on the sweaters in-store. I didn't see any for that sweater the other day. If you take it to the register and the promo price is still going, it will automatically ring up for the $69.

ReplyDeleteHi. I received mine yesterday. It was nicely packaged and included an apology note and a 2014 day planner. I was surprised as I don't even recall having shipping issues during the holidays. I thought it was my rewards card at first.

DeleteI received them too! I was very surprised. I had sent them an email at the time and posted something on Instagram/Twitter so I thought perhaps that was why. I received a refund for shipping at the time even though it was a UPS error, not J.Crew's.
DeleteI did receive it and it was a nice surprise, since my b-day is tomorrow and J.Crew doesn't give us anything as a lot of other stores do (unless you shop a lot and earn rewards). So it was nice seeing that they value some of the customers that didn't receive their shipment on time, although I am not sure what the criteria was... (did they give it to all customers or just a sample?)

I was curious about this too. Did it come in a package or just mail? I have not gotten one but UPS lost my package over the holidays, then I waited 8 days for them to investigate my package and another 4 days for my refund. It was a large order too so I am happy I got a refund.
ReplyDeleteHey ladies I need some advice! I ordered the jeweled chandelier sweatshirt in both the grey and ivory color. At first I was in love with the ivory because of the colored jewels, but now I'm leaning towards the grey. I need to make a decision between the two colors so I can return one of them. It would really help if I could get an opinion on what your favorite of the two is because I really can't decide! Thanks :)

Delete@Sam - I can now articulate why I didn't like the creme. It reminded me of pajamas. I liked the jewels, though. The jewel colors are pretty. JCrewIsMyFavStore has the creme and I believe loves it. Not seeing pics on her blog, though.
I have my eye on the cream myself. I already have a gray jeweled sweatshirt so that is why. I do really like the gray though. Maybe I need both:)
DeleteI have the grey and love it. I have seen the cream on several people on IG and liked it, but the color scheme is not for me and a white sweatshirt just screams "spill on me." I will say, my only complaint with the sweatshirt is that the jewels snag on the inside of the sleeves...I am constantly getting stuck and it is annoying. I have to look and see if I can secure the jewel prongs more to prevent this but I have a lot of pulled threads under the arms of the sweatshirt which I'm not loving.

I have the cream and love it. The only issue I have had with mine is one of the jewels fell off and of course it happens to be one of the jewels not included in the bag of extra jewels. Overall though, I think both colors are lovely, I just felt that the cream was a little more unique given the color scheme, which was the deciding factor for me.

Blakemdjohns - Promo prices ending in .00 sometimes get marked down to prices ending in .99. Sometimes they go back up to fp before getting put on promo again or getting marked down.

ReplyDeletemelly z - i went to the j crew at westfield mall in SF yesterday and the sweater you wanted was priced down to $69. they had it in purple but i saw it mostly in XS and XXS. the store should will be willing to order it for you though and do the additional 25% off (along with a student discount if you're eligible).

My order was cancelled a few hours after I placed it. These shoes are now back in stock in nearly all sizes. I just minutes ago asked the Live Chat person whether they would still sell them to me for the old sale price, and after I gave her the old order number she wrote "we'll be happy to honor that sale price for you." Voila! Pretty & affordable loafers coming my way, finally :-)
