  1. Happy Thanksgiving week to American JCAs!

Sorry - you are probably tired of hearing this from your Canadian neighbors, but I don't understand why the pre Black Friday discounts that are available to Americans are not also available to Canadians. No promo available at all!

I am wondering if they won't even offer a Black Friday or Cyber Monday promo to Canadians. Even if they do, everything will be pretty much gone.

    1. I heard a theory that Canadians are not as sensitive to price as americans. As a result, surviving Canadian brands price higher than American brands.

    2. I’m very upset about it too! I only placed one order since August because of crazy prices and higher shipping. I used to order probably once a month. I did pick up some items in Oct when I was in the US because the prices were insanely cheaper at jcrew.
This will be the first Black Friday ever that I may not buy anything from them.

    3. I am too!. shipping is $14 and no free shipping promo for over a year. all week long US has pre black Friday promo...and we have zero.not too mention how over inflated Canadian prices are.
I have been shopping Gap and even more at Banana Republic lately.

    4. @jan Same here, used to order frequently but haven’t placed an order to Canada since February. The two times I’ve been to the US I’ve placed small orders for items that are about 50-60% cheaper even after USD to CAD. For example I got the gingham penny sandals for $25 USD while they were $90+ CAD.

  2. Same here. I've purchased 1 item since July.

  4. I don’t think J Crew will be getting any money from me this year. Kate spade has 40% off and I don’t think they have ever done that before. Grabbing some pieces there - my Kate spade pieces have stood the rest of time.

  5. Everything I want is excluded or the majority of sizes are missing. I'm in the US by the way. I wonder how much will magically reappear after the promo ends. In addition to this, I question this strategy. How much do they really want to sell?

Lord & Taylor cashmere is $49.99, for those who are interested.

    1. Lord & Taylor cashmere is of a poor quality. I got a sweater from them and it's covered in fuzz balls after single wear. I don't have time to shave my sweaters after single wear.

  6. Not a vent, check your mailboxes - J.Crew sent a coupon/mailer with a unique code for $50 off $150 good from Dec 2 through Feb 2. Of course it cannot be combined with other codes (lol so I suppose that's a vent!)
