"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  2. Dear J.Crew, I have lusted after several versions of the Collection Strappy Sandal for some time now: jeweled, glitter, glitter mosaic, and now, the mixed gingham. I truly love those shoes, but I never buy them as I won't be able to wear them enough to make the purchase worthwhile. I love to rock a high heel, I really do, but I can't wear them to work, and they're impractical for day-to-day casual. If those sandals came in a lower heel, say 2", I think I would have bought every one of them. I will continue to wear high heels every now and again as occasions permit, but there's only so much room in my closet for those "special occasion" purchases. I'd really love to see a lower version of those lovely Collection Strappy sandals that I could wear a lot more often.

    1. Yes yes yes!!! I feel 100% the same on all accounts! I'm happy to know that I am not the only one who can't wear high heels all the time....but, I could definitely do a 2"

  3. I went to my B&M today to return, and sale items are extra 50% off! Worth checking out and calling a store if you are on a hunt for something.

Does anyone have info on when the next big roll-out is going to be? I'm itching to know if anyone has pics to share of prefall items.

    1. Went in today to do my returns as well and SA said they are getting new collection in 2 weeks. I'd love to see pics too! I took a peek of the sale section while I was in store today and I scored the Gemma Glitter Flats with the black trim for $75!

I'm fairly new to this j.crew community and I've learned that if you see something you love online - get it or else it will be sold out and very slim chances of it restocking. Am I wrong?

    2. I find that in almost all my cases if I'm patient it will come back again. Things that tend to sell out during a promo will often find its way back during a big sale update although it could be FS, that's been my experience.

  4. OT, but for Toronto-area JCAs, the Halton Premier Outlets JC Factory store has had a big shipment of retail clearance items! Lots of sweaters (including cashmere though sizes run small) and miscellaneous plaid shirts and Crewcuts items. The SA told me that employees are not allowed to purchase anything until next Monday, interestingly. Picked up a couple of sweaters because Winter Is Coming...

  5. My vent: I ordered three pairs of the boardwalk lace up sandals at Madewell online because the price was better than in store, but shipping info has not been updated since last Friday, when they shipped. I should have sucked it up, paid a little extra or asked the store to price match, and bought them in store.

    1. +1! I'm waiting on 2 pair of MW jeans I ordered last Friday. Shipping info now shows they were sent to NJ (I'm in WI)and, "address was corrected", and they won't be delivered until 7/6. What's going on, Madewell?
