  1. Agreed Alexis - meh.

I'm sad about J Crew's dresses. So boring. They know how to do it - that gorgeous Collection Austrian Lace dress sold out in 6 hours. More please!

  2. I was expecting free shipping + discount today, but instead the surprise for me was that two of the items in my cart became final sale. Oh well.

  4. Agreed....silly week! back and forth. and last day. really jus reg 40% off sale as it was last week and not even free shipping. Oh J Crew...you are losing us ...

  5. Meh, for sure.

Kind of lame if you ordered some of the pieces that were 40% off original price all week, only to see them go into the sale section (with add'l 40% off) today, like the candy-stripe dress and the gingham bow-shoulder top.

This was a strange week for promos - the one item that I was interested in at 40% off was sold on Tuesday (the day it was eligible), and then of course popped back all the rest of the week. Without free shipping, I didn't bite on any of the days.

  6. I only bit because I checked last night, before all the items I ordered became final sale (today). Would have ordered none of them if final sale had applied...things are too inconsistent to risk it.

  7. Seriously, they need to reevaluate their entire marketing/sales strategy. It's lame and unreliable and clearly isn't moving product for them.

  8. I'm 0 for 5 w/JC this week. Had there been free shipping, I would've picked up a few things here and there. Oh well.

    2. @Suz thanks, I am going to at least get a price adjustment for the 50% off, realized I should have done that after I placed the order.

  11. If you're waiting for a sale, it's not going to happen until Thursday or Friday, for the 4th of July...just saying. The fact they are charging $5 shipping again is so annoying to me. Why can't they be like Madewell and skip the shipping fees, especially if you spend $100? $150 is hard to get to lately, especially with promo codes.

  13. Meh is right.
I remember the days when I could have walked into a store or gone online and spent every penny I had -- or ever would have.
I miss the printed cardigans, the dresses with some sort of sleeve and many versions of silk tanks and tops.

  14. Oh, and I forgot to say this: ugh. The Polyester at silk prices. I could live without that.

    4. Thanks ladies!
@unknown, I thought the email mentioned a discount or a free gift. The discount is probably better anyway.

    5. Just curious: is this discount for a purchase now or for a future purchase?

    6. @shopping cells It had to be used when I was in the store, and they wouldn't order anything for me.

@unknown, they all said they hadn't seen anyone else get 40% off all day (I was there about 3PM). They also had dollar off promos or free gifts (free bangle?)

  16. Has anyone tried the Sunday Slim short in vintage plaid? I'm curious to hear thoughts about fit/style...

    1. Hi Lauren I have those shorts. I think you mean the red plaid, if so I really like them a lot. They are very comfortable and lightweight for summer. I usually wear the chino shorts but once I tried these I loved them for the cooler weight for the hot temps we've been having. The colour is lovely but IRL lighter /more muted than the style guide pic. I took my larger shorts size 4 because I liked them a bit lower on me and the extra length. The size 2 fit more on the waist like I think they're intended but I preferred them a bit looser. I don't find them slim. I liked them so much that I bought the madras ones on popback. The red plaid is my favourite though. Hth

    2. Thanks Jan! I think we are talking about the same shorts. The color is bohemian red but the style name has vintage plaid in it. I may try them out.

    3. Yes, that's them sorry I couldn't remember the name earlier. :) they are really pretty and go with a few colours which is nice.

  17. Went in to the store today and they changed the promos. No more scratch cards but everything 30% off and sale was 50% off. I bought the stripe top with the bow for $40.
