"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. OT - lots of popbacks this morning. Nice to see the hummingbird print again (capris) - one of J Crew's best ever prints IMO.

    1. @ cousy & Shopping Celle, thanks for mentioning the popbacks b/c I wouldn't have looked otherwise. I managed to find a pair of pants from last fall that I have them in another color and thought I missed out on. JCAs are always so helpful with these kinds of tips!

  2. I noticed all the pop back too and did bite on a few things to try since they were not final sale. My vent is that I didn't get up early enough to get those navy pom-pom ankle strap flats because I have been looking for them for months. They were available early this morning in my size but I missed them. Sad trombone.

  3. was in the store last week, so much stuff all marked 50% sale price, but FS.
wonder if they would move more of it quickly without all the final sale stuff.
There was a woman shopping for dresses for her daughter with a salesperson, of course she wasn't willing to buy any of them with the final sale policy, but they could have possibly sold one without

  4. So frustrated the order I placed Friday morning hasn't shipped yet. I called CS to check on it and they weren't very helpful saying wait until the 20th and call back. In the meantime the item is s old out in my size and I'm worried I won't ever get it now because there were just a few left when I placed my order...argh

    1. Beachychic, I am also still waiting for an order (that I placed last Tuesday!) to ship. I got the same response from cs. It's so ridiculous! The item I ordered is sold out now too. I have placed orders from Madewell, Lands End, and Anthropologie since then and they have all shipped and/or arrived. I hate to complain about this as I know it's so unimportant in the grand scheme of things, but really get it together Jcrew!

    2. Totally agree!! I know for a fact this item was likely a return that is shipping from a retail store and my main concern is that someone purchased the item before it could be shipped to me. I wish they would call the store and nudge them or at least find out if it still exists!! I've placed 2 orders since then and both have either shipped or arrived already.

    3. Very frustrating! Mine took 5 days until Borderfree shipped it out. Even when my "Order History" says Shipped and Complete the delay is on Borderfree's end. Now the tracking says that expected delivery is June 22 - order date was June 8. So annoying!

    4. It took them 8 days to ship an order I placed last week, but they did send it UPS 2-Day, even though I chose free regular shipping (yes, I was surprised too!).

Since they used that shipping method, it basically evened things out, given how long it takes for things to get out West. Made me less irritated about the 8-day wait, that's for sure.

  5. I am encouraged tat everyone eventually go their items! I did finally get a hold of someone at CS (Aubrey) who was willing to go the extra mile and call the store in question for me. She assured me that my item will be shipped st is set aside. Now why it's just been chilling there for almost a week makes no sense to me, but that's retail for ya...

  6. This isn't a major vent, but I really wish J. Crew's website allowed a potential customer to check to see if an item is in stock at a location near them. I really prefer to buy things in-store (at least if I haven't already tried them on) and if I could easily see where a particular style is in stock, I would end up shopping and buying more.
