J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Off topic, but I'm awake and just noticed that Madewell is offering an extra 30% off sale items. Even though it's in the 90's where I live, I had to order the Peanuts Joe Cool sweatshirt ;) Ema reviewed this top on her IG (crazyaboutjcrew) and she sized down one size.

    1. I like the sweatshirt, but it's final sale. I wish it wasn't...

  2. The TUESDAY promo is 40% off summery tops, shirts, dresses, swim & more. Not seeing any jewelry or shoes.

    40% off applies to the grommets dress. I reviewed the marine salt and metallic golden flax in this post.

  3. I ordered the Into the Wild flutter sleeve top and the seersucker striped midi. I think both run a tiny bit small. The flutter sleeve top I ordered in the tall and so glad I did because it barely covers a waistband. I think it is small in the chest area. The skirt is a tiny bit small in the waist at least smaller than the clip dot midi. I like both pieces but do I really need them? I'm undecided on that.

  4. I have a few reviews from the last roll-out.

    The Collection Dress in Austrian Eyelet (f2086), which sold out on the first day it was available is absolutely gorgeous. The lace is thick and sturdy and the dress is definitely great quality and looks like a designer dress. The one thing is that it runs big, and since its sold out, I'm stuck with the size I ordered. The length is also long, and the dress was not offered in petite. Because of the lace, it may be expensive / difficult to tailor. I'm going to take it to a tailor and see what they say. I wish J. Crew sizing was more consistent. I ordered the 0, which is my normal size and its really big. Meanwhile, the Ratti print sundress in the 0 *just* fit with the ribcage being pretty tight . . . (I think I'm going to return that one -- I like the print, but I think the length + the volume of the skirt is too frumpy / sister-wives vibe for me).

    The second review is the Le Sirenuse for J. Crew Caftan (f2934). I've always wanted a caftan. I love the easy-breezy look of them and they are so fun for casual drinks by a pool. This one did not disappoint. Great, lightweight fabric, without being too sheer or gauzy. The colors are vibrant and pretty (even prettier than the website photo). The fit is definitely a caftan, but it has some shape through the body and chest so it doesn't swallow me. Love it.

    I also tried on and purchased the Easy Linen Midi Skirt with Ties (f3421). This definitely runs big. I sized down to a 00, and it still is slightly big around the waist and in the volume of the skirt. Its a really nice piece though. I love the Lapis color (and the Kelly green) with a white top and brown espadrilles. I ordered this from the store after trying on the green and the store gave me 40% off that day, so great price (which makes up for the $$ of the other two items!!)

    1. That collection dress is stunning! Hopefully you can get a popback in a size down, I think you're right about alterations costing a lot. Did you call a collection store in case they have one (I know if inventory is low in store it won't always show online). it's nice having 60 days for online returns just in case. :) I really hope it works out for you!
