  1. Ugh at these sales - I'm a little tired of weeding through the same crap and it'll all be 40% off again soon.

Anyone know when next roll out is?

    2. In 2 weeks . I would assume this will be a big fall rollout. Mickey (and J Crews) reputations are on the line with this one.

    6. I'll be excited if they offer a tweed or hounds tooth type jacket. Preferably the School Boy cut. I'd go to the store to try that! On another note, the other day I was looking at one of my Seventeen magazines from 1971 and a young Susan Dey was modeling the lastest fall fashions including a suede fringed vest. Plus matching Indian inspired headband! She looked adorable of course......this weekend I stopped into Nordstrom Rack and hey 1971 called and they want their clothes back! Right away I see a rack of suede fringed vests! I laughed and went off looking for the matching headband. HEE! the 70's are back with a vengeance! I was a very young teenager in the early 70's and didn't have many "hippie" type clothes but I love looking at my old magazines and really admire the look. Sadly I was a young women in the 80's and spent my days wearing those ugly business suits, pumps and a lot of colorful makeup. I look better now and I'm not so young anymore! If any of gals are of the older fashionable set I want to share a blog I just found and am really enjoying. It's called "Style at a Certain Age". I am inspired to start wearing a shorter skirt/dress and stop whining about needing them to be to my knee. I don't have bad legs....I just thought it wasn't "right" for a lady in her late 50's to wear shorter hemlines. But this lady does and she looks so cute. Check it out! Have a super day everyone! I'm off to The Container Store to by some new storage units for my new closet re-do....I'm so excited!

    7. Thank you all! Putting a note on my calendar now. I got a birthday gift card from them, was pleasantly surprised.

I'm with you Stray Cat, I want TWEED. Yay for you and your new closet, go get it! :)

    8. I don't think it will be at all memorable. A lot of the interesting stuff they showed at NYFW is not going to be produced. (Although the pink car-wash skirt from that show will be in the Sept rollout.) The sequin stuff comes out mid-December. I think this will be, sadly, pretty dull.

    9. I would be interested to see if next rollout has something like the Chateau Parka. That one wasn't quite right on me, but so close.

    10. what about the skirt that tied in a bow in front?

    11. LOL Stray Cat... loved the Susan Dey reference!

  2. Only one thing I'm interested in and it's not on sale. And not in my stores. So if I find something like it elsewhere where I can actually try it on and I like it, I'm buying. Regardless if it's on sale or not. I'm sick of all the games.

  3. Sept. 14 is the next rollout. I emailed a VPS and got some very disappointing news, though -- so much of the stuff they showed at NYFW is not going to be produced. For instance, the leopard heels with the tassels, the bronze heels with the blue tassels, the gray shoes with the blue tassels, the gray short skirt with pink and black trim -- none of that. (You know, all the stuff that was at the top of my list.) The multicolored feathery skirt is mid-October and the multicolored sequin stuff is mid-December (WHY so late? When am I going to wear a floor length multicolor sequin skirt, if not to holiday parties?) Yet another in a long string of J.Crew disappointments.

    1. What's the point of showing it on NYFW? Lame. I know, I know...all runway designers do that, too.

There are a few stuff I am waiting on too; Donegal jacket with navy lapel, the silk blouse worn with it, and that a-line skirt with a belt tie, which I hope will be offered in petite.

    2. I inquired about the long multi sequined skirt - and it's $1500.00. That's a very high cost per wear (per Gigi). :D

    3. I knew it was going to be $$$ but that is just too rich for my blood. Ah, well.

  4. I just bought something full price. I know! Shocking.

I decided that I really want to have a look at the collection mixed-media crossover jacket. It just speaks to me.

I called, got measurements, ordered down a size to a size 6, and used my fall rewards to soften the blow a bit.

Ok, let's see how this works out for me . . .

  5. I ordered two items from Madewell this morning. I ordered the leather pouch clutch with my initials in english saddle and the leather card case for my iPhone 6 plus. It has a place for two credit cards. I really like their small leather goods they are really nice quality. I have one of their ruck sacks and it is awesome.
I will be visiting Cincinnati this weekend for the first time and it looks like Madewell and J.Crew are located in the same shopping center. Anyone from Cincinnati have any tips on good places to eat and any where else they think I should go? I will have all day Sunday to myself. I don't live near a Madewell, so excited to go to a store.

    1. Doodle, I have their old Kensington satchel (a very similar one is now named Glasglow) in two colors, both with the gold stamped monogram, and I get compliments on them constantly. The english saddle color aged beautifully, so I'm sure yours will too!! Have fun with your Madewell trip :)

    2. I grew up outside of Cincinnati and Kenwood is my favorite mall! As for places to eat, are you looking for places you can only find there? If you've never tried Cinci chili, give Gold Star (my favorite) or Skyline Chili a try (both are fast food). Montgomery Inn offers some great barbecue, but it may be a little sweeter than you like. If you want to eat at the mall, there's a Cheesecake Factory there. There isn't one in all of South Carolina, so I'm always excited when I can eat at one!

    3. Oh my goodness, there is this amazing french place around the corner from Saks in downtown Cinci. I've never forgotton it but I can't for the life of me remember the name!

    4. I ordered another Biltmore for Madewell Straight Brim Felt Fedora today. I have black and love it so I "had" to get brown for fall. It's got a 70's vibe without looking too retro. Also ordered a red bucket bag from Land's End. I'd admire the beige one this last spring but when I saw the red one I had to have it. I got 30% off, which made it doable without guilt. It'll look great with camo, navy, olive green, forest, etc. Excited!

    5. Stray Cat, I have the Bucket Bag in the beige color. Carried it all summer. Gorgeous leather and construction - you won't be disappointed. I'm thinking of getting the black.

    6. ruffles....thanks for the review! I've been wanting a bucket bag and thought the red would be really special and a color I could use year around.

  6. Usually the specials go Sunday to Sunday, but this one ends Wednesday, so I wonder what they will offer for Labor Day--I hope it's a percentage off full-price because I would like to try the cape jacket. The reviews have indicated that it's likely to overwhelm those who are on the shorter/smaller side, but I still want to give it a try!

    1. I hope we don't have a repeat of the five days of sale. new promos everyday . If we all remember the best one was the 75% off sale and nothing compared after that one. really nothing has compared since the "big" one. gosh now I wonder if they will do it again.

  7. By the way, for cardholders, the sale/final sale promo is 40/60 off. Actively trying to find something that's worth it but looks like it's a nope for me. Several sale items sitting on my wishlist but I got spoiled by that 75%.

    1. Is there a code for cardholders? The shop now code I'd not taking any additional % off. Tia!

    2. It's CARDSONLY for 40% off sale, 60% off final sale.

  8. I asked in previous post...Off topic.... Has anyone tried Factory Frankie chinos.... How do they fit in comparisons to retail jcrew ... Thanks to those of you that replied... The reviews are mixed, but I take 2p in 1035 trouser or bristols. Was thinking of 2 regular or do you ladies think I need 4 reg... Thanks again

  9. I'm already bored with this latest roll-out. Just looking at the Collection, most of it is still summer. I can't wait till the next roll-out. It better be good.

BTW, NYFW is coming up. Not sure if the schedule is up, but J.Crew shows their stuff around the 10th of 11th of Sept. I can't wait to see Somsack's designs.
