Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I have the Asymmetrical Zip Pencil Skirt in Houndstooth waiting for me, so I am definitely going this weekend.

  2. There are a couple of items that I was planning to order from the 40% off sale, but I won't be going to any stores today.

  3. I just called the J.Crew stores in Boston and Cambridge. They're offering 50% off sale until 10AM (I called at 9:45 so that's a no-go), which is a bummer because I didn't know they were opening early! After 10, sale goes back to a 40% markdown. Unless the b&m stores have items on sale that the website doesn't, Boston aficionadas need not waste their time.

  4. I won't be going to the store, but there are a few items I'm contemplating ordering online, mainly from the new arrivals. I did finally receive my wool plaid scarf (item b6848) that I ordered during the last promo and absolutely love it. It is on the larger side, but not nearly as large as the Zara blanket scarf, and the colors in the plaid are lovely. Highly recommend if you can catch it on popback or find it in a store.

I've shared links to reviews and IRL pics from myself and other bloggers for many J.Crew items eligible for the extra 30-40% off (including a pic of the wool plaid scarf I mentioned above on Ina). Click here to see the post.

If you're shopping the Madewell Extra 25% off, check out this post for links to reviews and IRL pics of Madewell items.

OT: Also, for those interested, I've shared a comprehensive list of the Black Friday Deals taking place today and throughout the weekend for a very large number of retailers in this post. Lots of great deals to be found, too. I was able to get a really nice shirt-jacket 50% off at Gap for my nine year-old, and have also done quite a bit of Christmas shopping for my boys at Amazon.com. :)

    1. Thank you so much for the Black Friday and Madewell lists. They're very helpful. Since this JCA community tends to have overlapping fashion tastes, it's great to have a quick go to edited list for reference.

    2. Melissa, thanks for the BF list; it really came in handy!

    3. Thanks for letting me know Wendy! I really appreciate the feedback, and I'm really glad to hear that it helped. I keep rechecking the list myself, since I've been doing a lot of Christmas shopping this weekend. I'll be updating it with the Cyber Monday sales, too. :)

  6. nothing really fab happening at J Crew for Black Friday. I am waiting it all out as every other day new arrivals are added to the sale section. There is nothing I really need to have . I do not like saying this as J Crew is my go to store all year long......but then again I am a savy sale shopper ( in other words I usually know more than the SA's)

  7. A review of the J. Crew Factory Tailored Tweed Blazer in this post The collar on this blazer is fabulous--it reminds me of the J. Crew retail Bella Jacket!

  8. went to j. crew in montgomery mall, maryland, which was 40 percent off but was insanely picked over. nothing I was interested in. I also stopped by the madewell at montgomery mall because on tuesday I called and bought some things over the phone that were 40 percent off; that day, the employee I spoke with told me they would still be offering 40 percent off today for black friday. but lo and behold when I step in the store, it's 30 percent off sale. no explanation for why it changed from what she had assured me only 48 hours before. disappointing - I didn't walk out with anything.

  11. I am happy with anything J.crew sends over for Christmas but this year is particularly lovely: a Carriere Freres candle in Lavender. In his note, Mickey asked how they can improve next year to make the cardmember experience better.

    2. That is a really nice gift, Marie. For some reason (obvs too much time on my hands) I was thinking about how I really wish the J.Crew card had double points, etc. periods. That would be my comment!

    3. Is the gift for cardholders only ????

      Delete
    4. Unknown, yes I think it's just for cardholders.

    5. I am so curious about how cardholders get selected for these gifts. I have never received one and have been a cardholder for many years. Happy for those that have but just wondering about the selection process.

  13. I went yesterday. It was my first ever going out on Black Friday. As expected, I was turned off by the chaos and the mess the store was in. I peeked at the sale section and clothes were all over the floor. I guess Black Friday experience would have been better if I had gone when the store first opens.
The only reason why I went to JCrew was to make returns.

    1. I went to the store on Robson St (downtown Vancouver) It was not busy. the same online sale and % off sale applied. The sale section was mostly t-shirts and the items that have not been selling (boiled wool sweatshirt )
I wanted to check out the new arrival of the brushed wool funnel neck sweatshirt...like the grey...the ivory...not at all. the cropped wool (elastic waist ) pants are terrible IMO. (sorry hope to not offend anyone) but these are like old lady pants...)
Zara a few doors down was packed...30% off everything like J Crew but things were selling fast....interesting. I am really starting to like Zara overall.

    2. The elastic waist and the seam down the front...not too mention the itchy wool....yes rather a bad combo. imo

      Delete
    3. I like Zara, too. I don't own Zara, only because I am not familiar of how their clothes hold up; not sure how long it lasts because of the materials they use (poly, synthetic fibers)...

      Delete
    4. Beware of Zara online shopping, though. Their return window is really short (30 days) and they don't make exceptions for late returns (at least not by mail; I don't have a store nearby).

    5. i have been buying lot more at zara this fall. The zara sale was good since they don't have promos very often. most of the stuff i wanted sold out within in couple of hours online!

  14. Going to return the gold foil front sweatshirt. Can't even describe how horrible this looked on me. Too short, too gold...eek! Did visit the clearance store in Arden yesterday. Three lovely cashmere sweaters, varying styles for $35.00 each and the navy pinstripe top coat came home with me.

    1. how much was the navy stripe topcoat at Arden ? It has been marked down online.....really curious. thank you...

    2. It was $86.00 and they had a size 10 as of yesterday.

    3. Wow....now that is a steal....enjoy your coat. Can you comment on the item itself ?

      Delete
    4. I would say it runs TTS to a tad small. If you want to layer heavy then size up one. The quality is excellent. Wish it had a back vent and slash pockets but other than those minor details, I really like this coat.

  15. Didn't make it to a store but repurchased a few items that got a further mark down and are now 40% off versus the 30% when I purchased them. All are sitting in original packaging. Didn't feel like asking for a PA. Nothing in the new rollout I want.

    1. hi....I find asking very "painful" because it all depends on what the CS person wants to do IMO. I usually won't bother for 10% but I get on the phone when the price has been marked down again and then a % off.
Lately CS has been always helpful....But I do feel your pain......
The re ordering process drives me crazy...but I have suceeded in saving $$.

    2. ITA. I usually don't bother for 10% but since a few items were cut significantly I just added the other items that went from 40% to 30% in the order. It depends on what type of a mood I am in re asking for a PA. lol. Since I was traveling and one of the items was an early morning popback that I didn't want to risk losing I just decided to reorder. I usually have pretty good luck with PAs but sometimes I just ain't in the mood:) I have other items I need to return at the mall so a stop at JCrew for returns will be pretty painless.

  20. I went to the mall on Saturday night, stopped by and underwhelmed. I was hoping to see the COLBY CROSSBODY BAG IN MIXED LEATHER but my store did not have it. If anyone has seen it IRL, would love their thoughts.

  21. This is off topic, but I'm wondering if anyone has the tartan plaid shirt and can comment on the colors. Is the black a little washed out looking, or not? I can't tell from the photos. I'm looking for a vibrant shirt -- is this vibrant?

    1. Yes, it's a bit washed out and the shirt is overall dark. I wouldn't describe it as vibrant. HTH
