J.Crew Updates Website with New Arrivals!

"Thanks!" to many of you, including TeriLynn13 (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website (click here to view online).

There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, as did the J.Crew Collection (click here).

The NOVEMBER catalog (click here to view) is up. However, the latest DECEMBER catalog is not. As mentioned by several JCAs, J.Crew posted several images of the newest catalog over at Pinterest (click here to view).

J.Crew also brought back their Holiday Gift Guide (click here to shop for Women). It is a visual treat to glance at all the latest merchandise by color!

J.Crew is offering an additional 25% off select items (marked as so) with promo code SHOPNOW and an additional 30% off for cardmembers with promotional code CARDTREAT. This offer expires November 17, 2014. **Color me surprise that there is no additional percent off the sale merchandise. Mmm okay. At least the sale items are not Final Sale.

What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)

  1. So disappointing. Aside from a few sweaters that might be worth checking out (in solid colors), I am so underwhelmed. Where are the classic styles? Why is everything so drapey and blousey? I know menswear style is in but almost all the new arrivals look like they would fit my husband. No pretty holiday plaid or tartan. The new plaid shirts look more like work-shirts that you might wear out in the cabin which is fine, they have their place but I miss the holiday plaids that were suitable for wearing to the office. Maybe the holiday release will have more to offer but these oversized styles make me look like I'm still playing dress up in my parents' closet. Guess I'll stick with Madewell this year. I am quite bummed. J.Crew just hasn't done it for me in 2014.

  2. Nothing in the new roll out is interesting to me, except for the Crewcuts Yeti sweater. I wish sale items were included in the 30% off promo, as this with free shipping would have been tempting. Oh well, I'll just wait for another promo next week.

    1. Yes, I was annoyed sale items weren't included in the 30% promo. A shirt I wanted was 40% off yesterday and now it's not. Had to just order the 2 things I wanted at the current promo and save the other one for the next "percent off sale" promo. sigh....

  3. As expected I'm not as wowed by this roll-out. There's a few things I like but not as many.
I'm glad that Crew is offering 30% on most of the things I like...

-The collection dresses. Wow pretty. The prices-heart attack
-Flannel raglan top in houndstooth: looks interesting, but the sleeves look funky on the model.
-Drapey Tuxedo Shirt: cute. but poly. Wondering how it looks in person.
    -Marled boucle jacket: cute cut..
    -Merino wool belted cardi
    -flecked Italian wool tneck
-Sunburst midi skirt in faux leather: yes it's offered in petite.

  4. I want to try the new pencil skirt ...asymmetrical
crossover. only one color....I bet they put out more colors in a week or two?

  5. If anyone sees the crossover pencil skirt in plaid, I would love a quick review. I need to know the weight of the wool, if it's like double serge or like super 120s.

    1. I would love to know if the black fits like all other pencil skirts...like the classic one J C offers. thanks

    2. Deset Flower - the plaid crossover pencil skirt ( b5274) is online only.

    3. Thanks, Gigi. That's what I get for browsing on my iPhone in traffic. I didn't notice that. I'll try customer service and see if they can give me any details.

  6. well nothing called out "i have to have it! I have made a pledge (to myself) that I will not order until the end of Dec. If I do not want it now i may not even want it then ( at a fraction of the cost)

    1. I agree with you. Unless I need it or I think it will sell out, I wait until after Christmas deals. That's when I go broke lol

  7. I'm interested in some of the cocoon coat colors, but I'm waiting until after Christmas to buy them. I can't justify spending $300+ on non-basic color items.

I have some pictures up on my blog today for anyone who was interested in the buffalo check excursion vest. I styled it with some other J.Crew pieces.

  8. Nothing I have to have right now. I like the colorblock sweater but realize I already own J. Crew sweaters in every color offered on the front panel. Do I reason need another one because the back panel is a different color? I also think the patterned sweaters are hideous. Overall this rollout is good for my wallet although my rewards card is going to burn a hole in my pocket.

    1. JessF - I completely agree with you on the patterned sweaters being hideous. The ugliest one being the Collection Striped Shearling Sweater. U.G.L.Y.

  9. Not a lot that I like but at least one item that I like a lot, the fringe top. I tried it yesterday and looked great in my regular size. I could have gone down a size but this top shouldn't hug you and the length was great. It has a regular zipper in the back that goes mid-way. Price with promo is great.
I also love the crazy gold sequined pants, obviously too expensive and not included in promo. At least they are festive.

    1. I kinda like the fringe top too. Not typically "me" but I really want to try it on. Would work well for a holiday party.

  10. I adore the Ruffle Dress in Italian Stretch Wool (item b6298) -- it reminds of of the offerings J.Crew put forward several years ago -- classics with a cute twist of ruffles or lace. I think it will be a perfect dress for work, but that was the only stand out item that screamed "buy me now before your size sells out!"

    2. So beautiful! I would get it in a heartbeat if I did have these giant boobs (just too much at the front, ya know?)

  11. i wound up getting that chevron front shirt (item b7932)... there's not much else i'm really interested in... i liked the double zip dress but the red is too bright for my coloring and the black and cream are just eh for me. and i REALLY don't like all the super baggy boyfriend sized stuff.

  12. What is up with all the poly?!! Are we shopping at factory?

Also noticed the blackwatch tartan shirt can't be shipped to CA?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I like the red dress with zips, the red wood pants but agree with the others, the slouchy, oversize look like you just got out of bed look is not for me. I won't wear tennis shoes, sweat pants, sweat shirts, or rolled up pants to a festive holiday party.

  14. I like the black tuxedo dress, but wish it had sleeves. I like the fringe top and the sequin tuxedo pants but they look in black in the catalog-not dark gray.

    1. Julie, I tried the pants yesterday. They looked nice on the hanger but the tuxedo stripe trim reads matching band. They overdid it with the sequins and the striped trim, squint would have been enough, I think. I have pics on my insta.

    2. Ema - I can't find you on Instagram. Would love to see the pants. Nice to know it was a good pass for me.

  15. The only thing I love is the $800 collection shearling bomber jacket. It is calling my name, loudly. However, I will not spend $800 on something that is the definition of "just for fun." So, I added it to my wishlist so I can stare at it. Maybe someday it will be 85% off and I can get it.

Other than that, I saw several things in the store yesterday and nothing really called out to me. I agree that the dress with the zippers is good quality and has a nice weight to it. Many will love it. I didn't even try it on because its not something that works in my life and isn't really my personal style.

  16. The tuxedo wrap dress was the only thing that appealed to me-- I placed an order using the rewards card that they emailed me last night!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I reviewed the crepe cap-sleeve top, on sale. And my new arrival picks are at the bottom of the post. I love the gold disco pants and hope they're mine. On sale, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I like the Sophie flats in elephant parade and perhaps the Bristol pants in flannel (a little boring but a decent basic) as well as the fringe top (as Ema noted, an easy price!).

The belted shirtdress - who is that customer and does she ever leave the house?

And help me understand something: I am startled to see the new Thomas Mason mixed jumpsuit for $398 (white button-down attached to wool pull-on pants). There's a very similar Juan Carlos jumpsuit that has been sitting in JC's sale section for many months with seemingly no takers. Why do it again?

    1. I am startled by all the new swimsuits in November. Even if I really needed a new swimsuit for an upcoming tropical vacation, I would have enough choices in the sale section. Who is craving a swimsuit right now? Can't they focus on dresses and sweaters that are not ugly?

  19. A review of the Sophie Elephant Parade Loafers here HTH!

  20. How is the Donegal tweed dress already gone?

  21. Like others commented there are some new sweaters that I would buy on sale with a promo. Interested in seeing IRL, the Tilly sweater, stretch merino wool sweater, the others are awful, loud/crazy patterns, colors and grossly oversized. But seriously WTF is going on with the Long-stripe cardigan, item B2228!! I bet the model is wearing an XXX-S and it is huge on her.

  22. Check your Amex offers! I got a $25 off a purchase of $125!

  23. I have some reviews on the blog, including the Fringe Tank, Origami Skirt in Elephant and the Beaded Chevron Popover in Blackwatch Plaid.

  24. Disappointed that the Flecked Italian wool turtleneck is already sold out in my size. I really wanted to try this.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I like the belted marino cardigan, chevron sequined tee, excursion vest in buffalo, mini skirt in elephant parade, and the boyfriend flannel shirt in dark plaid. My work is a casual environment so these are things I could wear often.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lots of great new casual wear out. Love the sparkle slit sweater, the sequin side striped shirts, and the velvet tux jackets! The mens section is getting better after a slump for a few seasons.

  27. Tried the Tilly sweater yesterday, it fits tts to small imo. In all of this season's sweaters I have been an S or even XS, but I found I preferred the M in the Tilly as it fits quite sleekly, like the Tippi. The colours are pretty, but be aware the 'marled azalea' is actually neon pink. Merino just like the Tippis. It seemed a bit short - not a cropped sweater, but it hit too high on the hip for me at 5'7". hth.

  28. I like the ruffle stretch wool dress, tuxedo dress and lace georgette blouse. The sweater section is an absolute disaster though.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Has anybody seen the wool melton hooded bib jacket in real life yet? Curious how boxy/oversized/cropped it is and also if the vintage pine is more teal or a true green. That dusty clay shade looks pretty too.

  30. I have some reviews up on IG if anyone is interested at @marielarue7. The elephant parade skirt, fringe top, red flannel, and asymmetric zip sweater to name a few.

    1. Thanks for the helpful reviews, Marie. The flounce skirt looks so great the ways you styled it. Too bad about the pants, they look comfy, but doubt they'd work for me if you didn't like them.

    3. Thanks so much Mary. The fabric and the color of the pants were just a little bit too much for me I think. Maybe if it had been the flowier fabric from the summer … I loved the skirt though!

  33. Not a new arrival but did place an order for the Lowell buckle boots in Navy. They were on sale with the 30% off and they got great reviews. Plus I used my rewards. I must say I am always happy with J Crew boots, coats and bags that I have purchased. So I hope these boots don't disappoint but navy sounds like a great choice with jeans.

    1. JRSConifer - did you receive your rewards card? The one thing I'm interested in is on sale, but I wanted to use my rewards as well :)

    2. Paula, I got an email with a code and pin, that I used at checkout. No physical card. HTH. I would call CS and place the order through them and they should be able to look up reward information and apply to your order.

  34. Finally got a chance to look at the new arrivals...I like the shearling-lined sweatshirt (although it would be much better without the zipper), boyfriend flannel shirt in dark plaid, lookout high-rise jean in coated mamba black wash, flannel pjs in plaid, swiss-dot, & buffalo check, fair isle leggings, union suit, calf hair & plaid scuffs, moon pendant necklace, mail bird necklace, calf hair clutch, and all of the new scarves.

  36. I'm interested in the toothpicks in Rogers wash, the double-stripe tee, sequin chevron tee, Sophie elephant parade loafers, calf hair shearling scuffs and the classic plaid scarf in red navy. The Melton hooded bib jacket looks cute, but wondering if it's too short and boxy to be warm enough for me during New England winters. Also really liking the chateau parka in neon electric flame.

  37. Nothing I'm interested in. I've been spending my money at Banana Republic and Loft this year.

    1. So far this fall, very few purchases. Got the Donegal tweed pants, to my cynical eye the other pieces with bits of that tweed fabric in them look like cheap patch-it-up-and-get-another-year-out-of-it jobs. Got the 2 lovely silk print blouses. This rollout has not grabbed me. Oh, yes, delighted to see some "this works" products and hoping to see more. Otherwise, tracking the Tibi and RL Blue Label sales.
