JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

I purchased the wool-silk Aline with one of the promos; it's really cute though short on me so am stuck with heavy tights because am afraid to show too much skin. Any recommendation on which tight to pair skirt with? So far, I've gone easy with black tights but would like to wear the skirt with a white top or play around. Any suggestion much appreciated.

  3. I bought the Cotton-Silk Voile Dot Popover in hopes of wearing it with business casual outfits. Except I can't think of what to pair it with now except for jeans, ha.

It seems to look OK with navy, but only the right navy (since the shirt itself is navy). I've tried it on with black pants, but it looks odd.

    Any other suggestions?

    1. Phoebe have you tried camel or dark grey bottoms? I love navy with camel and dark grey never fails. Also for a bit more of an interesting pairing I think burgundy might go well with it but I'd have to see them together to be sure. HTH!

    2. I don't have any camel bottoms, unfortunately. Dark grey is a good idea. I'll have to look for a dark grey skirt.

I tried burgundy, but because the dots are red, it looks a little off.

  4. The bright, bold statement coat..I love the new ones J.Crew comes out with every year. They are always so fun and are an outfit just by themselves. This is how I wore my colorblock J.Crew coat..
